I LOVE the pictures of the old Mills on Mill Street West! I saw them every day in my childhood as I was born and brought up opposite them. We used to sneak in to the yard and run through a little doorway in the wall, then jump down on to the River Calder towpath. I also remember the Leather Shop and the Cafe opposite.
@@AmaanStorm Your reply got me thinking, in 1962, my Dad took me to Ossett and what was indelibly printed in my 12 year old brain was a strange roundabout in the centre so I had a look on street view and lo and behold the picture that comes up when searching for Ossett is the same scene, albeit many years later and minus the roundabout.
@@chunkychunks857 hey im a firm believer in fate, and my comment was meant to happen so you could find out the answer to your own question! Hehe. Ossett is a nice place....I have little recollection of what it was like years ago though. I just use the greenaway a lot, particularly in the summer.
