Ossett up to 13mins and 14 seconds. Not sure what the rest is.
Too many buses
Industry made towns like Dewsbury grow & prosper & have a unique sense of local pride. Deindustrialization has left a shell of emptyness that will never be filled again.
Great work.
It was a better town back then very busy now it's like a ghost town
Used to go in bon bon after been to swimming club on Tuesday evening and have a bar 6
What a sad state Ravensthorpe and Thornhill railway station is in. It was once as striking as Sheffield Park Station Sussex where the album cover for Elton John's Tumbleweed Connection was shot, because it looked like a wild west railroad station. Interesting shot of the L&Y Ravensthorpe station near the bottom of Scout Hill with the goods shed in the background. Where on earth do you find them?
I always think it is a mistake not to put the year on a poster along with the day and the month.
What a contrast to todays Ravensthorpe if they had only known what was coming .
any names or year for spangled bull
😊😊👍👍❤❤
Thanks Jordan for all the Dewsbury content. Do you know of any old photos of Grahams of Dewsbury, the Ford garage on Bradford Road? I think it used to be closer to Dews even though it's been closer to Batley for as long as I remember
❤❤👍👍😊😊
9:58 THE OLD WOMEN ON THE ZEBRA CROSSING WITH THE CHEQUED COAT AND BAG LOOKS LIKE AGNUS BROWN
Nice to see those old fairground rides especially those steam yachts, it was known as the shamrock.
Any videos of blockbuster?
0:38 THE GREEN BUS WAS THAT STAN AND JACK? ON THE BUSES
They should have brought back the Electric trains, it's mote feasable!..
ONE BLOOD
thanks great photos
Ruined by mass migration
Glorious, not a dusky countenance to be seen.
That line would be so useful, were it still operating.
If it was still in use today it would probably be wired at 25kv!
You seem to have overlooked the COLLINS Cinema by the junction of Hyrstlands Road and Town Street in Batley Carr, Dewsbury.
Hi DC. Almost handed my knocking sticks over a year or so ago but persistence has paid off and making progress once more. They say use it or lose it and I thinks it’s true
Thanks for Bootlegging the film I made Jordan. Relax, that’s ok. At least people are viewing it. Peace brother.
Anybody remember Martin Webster on his one man march surrounded by 2,500 police?
58 years since Enoch made his speech and what did people do? Went out and voted LibLabCon for immigration. People wanted immigration! Bill=B.N.P.
Far too white! Has anybody been to Dewsbury lately? Never mind, the plan is almost complete. Immigration under LibLabCon pro-immigration parties. 2060 indigenous white British a minority say Migration Watch. 36 years! A Muslim Parliament by 2100? Bill=B.N.P.
No sound.... should there be?
Two tiered policing even in them days.
Dewsbury. 47% White British.
Nothings changed then Jordon !!!!
Just the replacement of english people.
I'm in Ossett, my Dad from Bradford ... Almost 50 years and nothing changes ... Only now the Pakistan community men formerly in suits in 1975 have reverted to Shalwar Kameez, and made their women wear Hijab. See photo's of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan in the 50's 60's and 70's. I'm a patriot to The UK, don't support the conflicts wherever they are to be found, but the left have become really hateful. The right are no better. However, IF we meet in the middle, if there is patience and respect for everyone's view we could have brought about change as there is always hope, but, 50 years later, anyone speaking about the loss of British culture and understanding is screamed out of the debate. There is no longer the stomach for debate and free speech, so shutting it down seems easier, which is what's been happening in my lifetime ... but like our emotions ...putting a lid on things just makes the pot boil quicker.
Time and again, it's white people on the mortuary slab after yet another racist attack/stabbing/murder...almost every day. Ignored and suppressed by the BBC/media. See also,...''grooming gangs''.
It is simply "Pics". It doesn't need an apostrophe. I was taught how to use apostrophes at St John Fisher school, Oxford Road.
You're talking about locomotives I presume. The train is what the loco tows.
I was born in a house that was visible from the southbound platform at Dewsbury one week after the line officially closed.. I vaguely remember the abandoned station before we moved away in 1970
What's with the stupid watermark? Do you own the video. l don't think so
What is that blasted matermark good for? If you don't remove it, you know what you can do with your vids.
Looks to be good content but ridiculous amount of watermarking makes almost unwatchable. Are you really claiming all of this as your own? Please remove most of it.
DEWSBURY IS IN WEST YORKSHIRE 😮 WAS THAT MACHINE COWEL CALLED SIMON?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
North Yorkshire? 😆
West Yorkshire, formerly West Riding.
@@stevetaylor8698I know...I'm from there but it's says North Yorkshire
@@stevetaylor8698 it says North Yorkshire
@@BlueHToys It does indeed.
Great. Thanks for sharing. I always wondered if there was an abandoned station inside the bricked up entrance of the old Dewsbury station. Now I know it was totally annihilated 😅
Thanks for sharing these photos! At 6.16 I suspect you are right about the train being on the LNWR New line, probably taken from an overbridge near 'Liversedge Park Farm' (using 25 inch map on NLS website). The platelayers hut is shown on the map and you can see the L&Y line to Mirfield disappearing into a cutting above the loco. The signal post would be in the right place and the 3rd coach is probably just coming off a bridge there. At 2.15 that shot of a westbound train arriving at Mirfield station is one of the best photos I've ever seen of the old LMS colour light signal installation. A section of mainline around Mirfield was installed with an experimental colour light system in the 1930s (I think) - it looks complex!
I was there with St.Paulinus infants and a couple of nuns at five year old with my union jack flag. I seem to remember standing near the bus station
Mum and Dad’s Tripe stall ( not their first). I helped him kit out and line the interior. About 1964. The photo is a little later. Probably 1970’s
Same Hey who had a stall on Dewsbury market? Same Hey who was at the Wheelwright when I was, back in the '60s? I still love tripe but can't get it where I live now except by mail order.
@@eyesopen1850 yes, indeed the same Hey. Still alive and kicking. But not as high as I used to! Living in Marlborough U.K. and still trying to hit a decent 5 iron straight.
@@davidhey1599 Well, I'm in Shropshire now and wilting in the heat. Handed my golf clubs and fishing rods to my eldest grandson a few years ago when arthritis started to hit my knees; now i just grow vegetables on my allotment. Keep up the efforts with he 5-iron. DC
I still have the Missal which was presented to Catholic children in 1962, as part of the centenary festivities. Protestant children received a Bible which had the same insert, ie "presented to..." . We had to fill the rest in ourselves.
Not bad, but the ‘alamy’ overlay is annoying!
have you got any pictures of ravensthorpe 70's-80's including plaister and hangers rag mill as i used to work there.
Blimey, I used to play on thoes slag heaps as a kid! I never knew anyone filmed there.
