my theory is that these song have more personnal lyrics, while most of her released songs are more cryptical in their meaning. Like reflections and home again. As much as I love The Other Side, I think she may have found it too dark, and did not wish to make her audience feel like 'this' was the solution
I agree, it makes sense. some of them her producer might not have liked, or she didn't like the production, but I think overall they were too close to her heart. Like how she doesn't like to sing in Norwegian. And I definitely agree with All My Demons (I can't believe UA-cam automatically named it "The Other Side", especially couldn't believe when I discovered that it had named "Wake Up" "Im not a hero"). She does have some pretty dark songs, maybe darker than AMD, but it just SOUNDS soooooo dark . . .
Right! I don't think it's that much of a bad thing they are unreleased tbh. I think it shows that she wants to be careful about what message she sends to her audience. Which is SO fair imo. @@hvntinq_shxdows
She used to joke onstage all the time about how dark and depressing all her songs were, and when she used to close with "Conqueror" she described it as finally a happy song to balance out her normal material. She famously described being "persuaded" to include it on the album, and how much she grew to hate the song because it represented all that is wrong in the music biz. So I don't think Aurora ever worried about going too dark, if anything she would have liked to go darker but she was reigned in by her team at Decca. As far as the lyrics being more personal, I don't hear it, I mean little boy in the grass is about as painful a subject as it's possible to imagine and that was on her setlist for years. The fact she played many of these songs live for years tells me the only reason they didn't make it onto AMDGMAAF was space. And since that album was according to her just kind of swept together from songs she had recorded over her first couple years with a band, she just had way too much stuff to fit on an album. And once she really dug in and decided being an artist was what she wanted to do and started taking it seriously all her albums have been very thematically cohesive that she obviously puts a lot of thought into, so I'm sure in her mind releasing a bunch of old stuff she wrote in her mid teens sounds as fun as putting a fork in her eye lol. But the fact is, these songs are all released or we wouldn't be here discussing them. If she had a problem with them being publicly available one call to her record company and they would vanish online. Many artists are vicious about their stuff, Prince comes to mind as another prolific musician who was ruthless about preventing material from escaping before its time, or ever in a lot of cases. Lucky for us Aurora is as prolific as Prince but less interested in building a secret vault to be hidden for 50 years lol
That's what I mean. We must wider our view of the term "release". I just mean that they are AVAILABLE, like this collection that you have made so beautifully.@@hvntinq_shxdows
@@staffankarlsson1428 I'm guessing it refers to songs that were never advertised by the artist and got leaked after being discarded or kept from albums and such? like yes these are real but we can't support the artist by listening to them through an unofficial source. These songs aren't played at her concert, are not in her listings, don't have merch, etc. This is my own take on the situation so pls correct me if I'm wrong hehe
The shell picturesque seems so oddly familiar & I can’t quite put my finger on it. I think it reminds me of a scene in All Dogs Go To Heaven with the crocodile. 🐊 🤣 and it’s so utterly random but that movie brings me back to much simpler, happy times of my life.
The sun ~ 4:14 has a different name on Spotify. It names Bring back the color and is collaborated with San Holo. Enjoy the song guys, I accidentally came across this masterpiece and I realized it immediately :)))) Just for other songs, I have no idea whether their names are changed are not, but, I will keep searching
the sun is an early demo version of bring back the colour!! I personally prefer the sun. as for the other ones, they aren't on Spotify (someone posted a live version of one or two of them though) good noticing
So glad i just found those beautiful songs only because of you! I absolutely love Aurora and her music, so i *really* thank you a lot for uploading these (and the others you have uploaded)!!!! Spreading Aurora greatness fr, a true w&w!! :>
How is it that they are on UA-cam if she kept them for not to come out yet. Yes this is fucking amazing music but don’t you think she will feel disappointed if she knows it has been “stolen” from her.
The AURORAstuff channel got taken down (it's back now) and it had lyric videos for her unreleased songs. I'm pretty sure Aurora even said she was going to talk to UA-cam about getting it back! But yes, she might not like it. Which is sad because they are so beautiful. Most of them she performed live, meaning she wanted us to hear them. Perhaps just not these versions or all of them.
Yes probably and it is so sad because they are sooooooo freaky good. Even though it’s kinda sad her work is stolen I’m still happy we have the opportunity to still hear them :))
There are many artists who are famously ruthless about protecting their work and who's "unreleased" or bootleg stuff is rare and highly sought after, I'm thinking first of Prince who was famously impossibly prolific yet no one outside his band ever heard any of his unreleased stuff. My point is if Aurora was bothered by these songs being all over youtube she could make one call to Decca and Glassnote and they would all be taken down the next day. The fact that there is so much material available from her online that is officially unreleased tells me she doesn't care. It isn't like there's a ton of people getting copies of these recordings when they are made, it's hard to imagine anyone putting these out without her knowing about it and not caring enough to stop it.
@@texasd1385 I'd never thought about that. If there was a song she didn't like, she would keep it in her notebook and not take a studio recording or perform it live. For some songs she may not have liked the production, and chose not to release it. I am glad that we can listen to all these songs. I can't believe there are so many.
it was actually released in the end as "bring back the colour" with the artist san holo... but very interesting, i'll have to take a listen to both of them.

Particularmente eu sinto q a maioria das músicas dela expressam parte do contexto histórico mundial no momento do lançamento.
I wonder why these weren’t released. They are truly amazing songs.
Maybe because she could make it better❤
And i Wonder where they get these songs❤
it's still so funny to me how All My Demons is not on the All My Demons Meeting Me As A Friend album
Greeting*
Aurora will live in my soul forever
your telling me
THAT THESE MASTERPIECES WERE NEVER RELEASED?
IT'S TRAGIC I KNOW!!! 😭😭😭
But what is a "release" nowadays?! The songs are available on UA-cam and other platforms! That's a RELEASE in itself!
@@staffankarlsson1428 which ones are they on? Are they on Spotify? but yeah it is, and that's a good thing coz I love these songs!!

Isn't The Sun just an early/demo version of this song ua-cam.com/video/wNsbW-pQGBA/v-deo.html
yes but it's still unreleased
4:15 i can see why this song ''the sun'' wasnt released cause the melody and instrumental is very similar to soft universe

Where do you get these
other UA-cam videos to be honest. since aurora never officially released them I can't buy them
Thanks for this compilation@@hvntinq_shxdows

yeah she was featured on it though. I prefer the sun. what about you?
Where are you? 1:20
We are nothing sounds similar to AMD lol
You're great but you aint no Kate Bush.
why does she need to be anything like kate bush? they're completely different artists who don't need to be compared
