As someone who is black and loves well seasoned food, it will not pain me and blacken my soul to admit that not all food needs to be hevaily seasoned. Pasta is one of the foods that taste good with barely any seasoning. Easy to make when youre lazy and hungry.
Seasoning nazis are fuckin obnoxious. Sometimes you want to taste the ingredients, especially in Europe where meat, dairy and vegetables are held to strict standards. Different cultures have different dishes - some dishes are simple and clean.
Parmesan is the seasoning. It’s very salty and strong. This type of pasta dish is all about tasting each of the simple ingredients. I love the fact we have Indian cuisine with all of its variety and flavours. I also love European cuisines like Italian cuisine, where it’s more about simple high quality fresh ingredients. Variety is the spice of life 😊
The Parmesan makes it saltier and more rich and the butter helps making the texture better. It's true that it has less spices than indian cuisine but some dishes use oregano and garlic which give it stronger flavor
It's actually not bland though. There's a lot of flavor in the simple combination of butter, olive oil, and authentic parmeggiano reggiano. The pasta is really rich in flavor and the creaminess enhances that. It's not a huge kick to the face flavor the way Indian food is, but it doesn't have to be, it's good asf already. Not every recipe needs ginger, garlic, tumeric, and pepper. It's why the best quality sushi is some of the most flavorful and expensive food items on the planet, yet it's just raw meat with rice and vinegar.

Good parm has a very wholesome flavour profile and if you don't eat it as it is, the pasta alfredo is a simple comfort dish that elevates the parm into a whole dish.
Italy is the only place where you can eat barely seasoned pasta cuz their cheeses are so rich and flavourful, it makes up for lack of spices etc. Thats why the dish was invented that way, no garlic even. Just butter, cheese and pepper. Anyhwere else in the world,,,,,i would think twice
