I did dig a counterfeit early 1800’s piece of 8 once at a CW property. It was about 3/4 of the full coin. I was told those counterfeits were actually rarer than the real deal. Heading up to CT in Sept. Hoping to get onto an old site or two then. I will have to do some door knocking. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the video . 👍

I just got my manticore Tuesday so I'm really enjoying these kinds of videos more than I already was. I actually like seeing the trace in the videos mainly because I'm still figuring that out... Oh found four silvers this weekend with it already. Happy birthday

@StefDigs Fairbanks, Alaska. Any ground in the shade is still pretty hard. I would like to get out your way sometime. I first started detecting in Virginia in 2018. My second coin was a 182(?) large cent. I have been hooked every since. You should probably get to sleep 😴

Yup! On my copper coins that are not pitted, I use Renaissance Wax and buff them with a microfiber cloth. Never use it on pitted coins, as it’ll leave white residue in the recessed areas. A little container goes a LONG way - you can find it on Amazon! 😊

With the "U" for GEORGIUS, the regal halfpenny dates to 1740 or 1742-45. None made in '41. If it's counterfeit, it could be later. Great finds!
