We bought a 2019 XT5 about 8 months ago. We are a life-long Ford-Lincoln family, so buying the Caddy was like changing religions. We remain super-impressed with the XT5. Lots of features, lots of safety. There is also an intelligence to the design - features aren't buried 3 levels deep in the touchscreen. Build quality and fit & finish are excellent. Reliability over time is only thing it has left to prove, but we are optimistic.
Like you a die-hard Ford person for decades. Recently purchased the Caddy XT-4 loaded... We Love it. I toe my 15ft. Boston Whaler with it, drove the Car to Idaho from CA. such a pleasure. So much so - we are considering purchasing the XT-5 for a second car. I do miss the larger rear storage my Escape had. Hoping the XT-5 will match it.
Thank you for your input. I am a Ford truck and Mustang / Shelby owner. There are a lot of pluses to the XT5, but there are a few drawbacks as well. Glad you are enjoying it
I know this is an old post but you missed a really important feature of the rear seats! They move back and forth and recline. I have this same 2020 (same colors too) as shown here and I love it. It's my SF to Vegas monthly car 8 hours each way. It's more comfortable than my 2019 XTS premlux. I average 26 mpg combined on the XT5 V6. I'm at 60k miles, only ever had 1 issue a crack in the thermostat housing found by Cadillac service during an oil change, covered by warranty repaired in 4 hours. I highly recommend the XT5! Great, great vehicle.
Traction control on off button is for when the vehicle potentially gets stuck in the snow or a hill with ice or even mud and you are trying to rock your way out of being stuck and need those tires to spin and not be limited by the traction control.
We have this model and are very happy with the array of features and overall design of the car. The 20" wheels can be a bit harsh at times but they look great on it.
Good review. I want one. However, the 18 inch wheels have higher profile tires with a better ride than the 20's. People find the larger wheels more visually pleasing. Not me though. Reviewers don't mention 2020 brings a defeat button for the stop/start feature.
My fiance leased a 2020 XT5 Premium Luxury because we found it to be a great car and a great value. It's a tad noisy out on the road but it's not terrible, not bad enough to take away the the pleasure of driving it. The technology is great, especially the rearview mirror camera and myCadillac accounts for each driver to retain all settings each driver makes. I hadn't been a big fan of most of Cadillac's lineup for some time, but the improved 2020 XT5 is great.
2018cadillac xt5 premium love it impressive... remember it's a luxury suv.. if i wanted performance would of purchase mustang gt350.. until they come out with zl1 engine suv then we talk... peace out...
Lauren i know u from the Detroit area me to Born and raised in Detroit, i live in Charlotte North Carolina now... I never was a big Cadillac fan As a kid... The vehicle is very nice... I just bought two Lincoln Vehicles... Lincoln screams a little more class to me... Both are great, it's all about preference.. (Gotta support the auto workers from Detroit)
PR(I)NRDL(e). I never thought about it that way. I had a 2012 SRX and hated that it didn’t come with a spare. Good on GM for putting a spare in this XT5. Great review Lauren. Despite it seeming like a good value, I’m sure the resale value makes a vehicle to lease or keep for a long time.
You don’t really hear outside i believe the AC was on in the rear back of the car and it’s alittle noisy but you don’t really hear much outside in general
@@trumpisastump9382 Not just my views,,,, look at how many views this video has. Hardly nothing in the grand scheme of other things viewed. There are a lot things to this vehicle. I happen to own one and its the second one i have had. Your review does not do this vehicle justice. Having said that, there are some things are absolutely troublesome with this vehicle, but i will not discuss them here.
@thepaulbrian is posting on twitter and FB. I talk to him almost every day. So I will pass on your positive thoughts. We hope to be back on the road reviewing cars very soon. Thank you!
Obviously, a person of impeccable taste and appreciation for not only information, but copious amounts of sarcasm and snark! Thanks, Aaron (I presume that's your real name) for the comment, as it's always nice to be missed. I'm hunkered down with Jack the Attack Bichon in Chicago while Lauren and her faction of our families ride out the storm. We can't wait to get back on the trail and giving everyone like you more of what we all love. Kinda strange, after all our regular travel, to be "on the beach" for six weeks that now feels like six years. Personally, I'm healthy and the only scars of the ongoing problem being my continual losses when I play Gin with my dog. Last night I lost the title to my car to the little booger and he just laughs and taunts me with how much better he'd be if he only had opposing thumbs. Hang with us and again, thanks for the comment!
68k!!? for this? That engine is in an impala. It is not a premium motor therefore it already takes away from the premium feel that it is supposed to have. Your review is fantastically done but there is no way on earth that i would pay 48k for that let alone 68k. I know the Lexus rx350 has a 3.5 liter v6 that is in th es 350 as well as the avalon and the camry but at least that motor sounds and feels premium. The caddy's sounds and feels ok but not worthy of a vehicle with that price tag. Yes there are cheaper models but the one i rented with the leather the v6 and the premium package felt cheaply made and assembled with cheap plastics used throughout. I thought buicks enclave which has the same platform and powertrain was much nicer and felt better made and put together. Id take the RX350 and the MDX as well as the Telluride and the CX9 Signature over this thing any day of the week. Caddy has a lot of catching up to do and it starts with overhauling their quality control from the ground up. If you are going to charge a premium then you better feel and look premium.
Good looking SUV, but honestly compared to Lexus RX forget about it. The interior of Lexus kills it. Why does leather in Caddy looks like Chinese bonded leather? I mean Lincoln uses great leather as does Lexus. What’s wrong with GM and going cheap on its high end brand.
Great review of this model

I purchased one of these similarly equipped about 6 weeks ago. I am very pleased though it has pretty much stuck in my garage since lockdown.
Same with me. Bought my car March 9.

Thank you for your feedback, it helps others to make final decisions. Enjoy your XT5.
Theyr greats ...
The stereo is the Bose CenterPoint Performance Series audio system. Only the CT6 had the Panaray system unfortunately.
“Oh I seriously doubt he’s getting this kind of mileage,” says Hamm reading the Pizza Planet truck manual from Toy Story 2.
Omg when she mentioned PRNDL I immediately remembered the PRNDL scene for the The Suite Life of Zack & Cody lol
😂
I'm not paying $68k for one of these but a with a lesser package I would consider. You can get a premium luxury 4 cyl in the $47k range around here.
2018cadillac xt5 premium love it impressive... remember it's a luxury suv.. if i wanted performance would of purchase mustang gt350.. until they come out with zl1 engine suv then we talk... peace out...
Got a fleet of xt5 , and very happy

The Lincoln SUVs are super impressive.

Thanks Ronnie. 😊
Gods info- thank you
My problem and the reason why I didn’t buy 4 weeks was it got extremely pricey. It was a lot. Way too much. I was shocked.
Love GM and Cadillac
Chi-town Agreed I am hooked on GM ... own a Chevy but would love a Caddy
Great efficient overview
Thank you
Nice review! Can you get an XT 4 to review?
Hope to get that soon.
Thank you Great Review.
Thank you
The stock footage you used was of the 2019 version.
Yes the 2020 grill is definitely different
I like the looks of the older grill. Too bad all the newer models have blacked out ones
Love this car xt5 luxury 2020
how is the cabin noise level? compare with other luxury brands?
Very quiet. Well insulated.
You don’t really hear outside i believe the AC was on in the rear back of the car and it’s alittle noisy but you don’t really hear much outside in general
It seemed to be noisy in the cabin while you were doing your review. Engine/exhaust noise. Thanks for posting.
Yes it was.
I want one!
Good looking truck! Love the night vision feature! The ride seems to be a little noisy though. Which do you like better, the Lincoln or the Cadillac?
Lincoln is more sophisticated.
@@CarCoachReports The Cadillac for sure ...
Awesome #Cadillac
You definitely underrate this vehicle, you don't give it the true justice it deserves. That's why your views are so low.

I agree with you. Lexus has made inroads in luxury vehicles. Lincoln has made huge improvements, now it’s Cadillac’s turn.
Our CT6 seats look to be similar and are very comfortable.
