Like all GM vehicles, this beautiful car has many minor and not so minor engine and transmission defects. I have a 2019 XT5 Luxury, which I like for comfort, ride, looks/interior, etc., but the engine and transmission (gearbox) need serious improvements. These problems have not been fixed yet, although the Aisin gearbox was replaced with a native one. In terms of dynamics, it is significantly inferior to German cars.
I bought a 2017 XT5 with 70k. Installed a K&N filter and the smart stop-start module. I hated watching the oil pressure gauge jump around! Now am about to install the Trifecta Advantage tune. It will hopefully help the luggy engine and clunky gearbox issues. Otherwise I love the vehicle after owning a Touareg and allroad which were mechanically overbuilt.
Nice review! I just ordered mine. One thing Cadillac could have done better with is wider tires. 235 section is skinny. I’ll be putting 265 section on mine immediately. One thing for potential buyers to consider is AWD vs. FWD. I went with FWD because I live in Texas. No need for AWD. AWD adds a bit to the bottom line and adds >500 lbs to the curb weight, which means diminished performance.
@@TheEdshemerythey’re perfect so if I were you I’d do 255’s If you look at it from the side profile they fit perfectly and don’t stick out I’ve seen UA-cam videos (China only producing) XT5’s for 2025 and one zoomed in on the tires and now from factory coming with 21’s but with 265’s What they should’ve been doing with the 17-24 year models 255+ not 235 I don’t blame you all the way around going to be at least $1,000-$1,300 Front two are from 2020 so come Spring (Tax Season) I’m due at least for those the rear two are from 2023
It's been my life's dream to be the first to comment. What do I win??!!
A big congratulations 🎊🍾🎈But I hope you watched and enjoyed the review first 😁

Congratulations great vehicles and thanks for the tip 👍
I feel you. AWD here, also Texas. Have 255’s on the tires. I’m with you the factory 235 is not enough
@ how do you like the 255s? Do you feel they are wide enough or do you wish you went a bit wider? I still haven’t changed mine.

Needs more torque. Needs 6 cylinder Turbo. Engine is no nowhere as good as the bmw 6 or 8 turbo in the X5. Everything else is well done.
More power is always welcome 😁👍
This is considered luxury? I guess I need to see it on person.
Cadillac makes some nice vehicle but as time goes on the xt5 has been the same for a while now
How many times does he say “luxury” 🤔
This isn’t the “Sport” edition
@@apieceofdirt4681 it is the sport trim but it’s a luxury vehicle 😉
