I remember that Morton Downey jr. said in an interview that he was a judge in a beauty contest. He said that he was instructed to vote for Miss Thailand because the U.S was trying to make a deal for military bases in that country. I don’t know if it was this contest.
I first saw a live dolphin in 1964 at the New York World's Fair. They are much larger than you think they are. They could kill you in a few seconds if they felt like it. Good thing they like humans. Ever notice the huge step that Bud has to make at the start of the show? From where the contestants sit and where he sits? He has yet to take a fall. Not sure if they would have edited it out if he did.
The Abels were very interesting hoaxers. I was a kid when they pulled their most famous prank, so I had never heard of them until viewing this episode here.
I think it is silly for them to dress one of the challengers in a costume that only the real person could wear. That person is almost never the real one.
All the talk about fish!!! A porpoise is NOT a fish! A dolphin is a fish and their names are NOT interchangeable. Had to rule out 1 & 3 because they didn't even know the distinction. Orson was on to them too yet went on to waste his vote on #1.

Apasra Hongsakula was miss Universe in 1965. And she still looks the same, over 50 years later.
