Bravo, at least you don't tolerate this bullshit!! Hats off. I visited South England recently and was impressed to see absolutely spotless trains all the time. In Spain, this train would continue to operate normally, and only be cleaned a few weeks/months later, just to be defaced again shortly after. Yes, I live in a fucking shithole :(
The trains hadnt yet entered service yet and in this video are on a delivery run. But yeah that is the usual, the unit will be taken out of service unless there are no other serviceable vehicles.

Very easy to beat the vandals. Use ppf, paint protection film, basically clear wrap. Train gets vandalised, simply peel it off and good as new again. Then reapply ppf and it will beat them every time.

It’s not the graffiti artist’s fault. He’s supposed to graffiti things. It’s his job. It’s the fault of the train companies for failing to prevent it. Also the fault of politicians for creating a society where there is no alternative for disaffected youths than to become vandals.

I dunno man... Graf people have been painting trains since the 70s and train people have been getting angy about it and painting over it for the same. You'd think by now, decades later, there'd be some middle ground. (speaking as a street art enthusiast and an avid model railroader and railfan).
My biggest gripe with graffiti, is that most of it looks the same. If you are going to graffiti, at least make it original, instead of just being another NPC graffiti drone. At least people know who Banksy is, no one even knows who you are, you're just another cheap hack.
Looks like they're going to have to redo the paint again using same spray paint with these colours White Red and Grey which are painted on the side on this Class 231. DTG needs to make a Class 231 for GWML and South Wales Coastal for TSW 3 & TSC
Last car was amazing tho! I feel it's kind of a rite of passage especially for a new fleet - whichever crew did this absolutely went overboard (the graffiti artists don't block the windows in London), but seeing one carriage done up adds a nice touch.

what would actually, PRACTICALLY be affected in any meaningful way by leaving this on the train? how then is it comparable to litter? in fact, how is it comparable to actual destruction of property?
A lot of effort went into that graffiti and nobody noticed it happening? If I received an Amazon order like that, it would go straight back. Perhaps the manufacturers don't think millions of pounds worth of stock needs protecting.

But I'd still say that Switzerland has less than our surrounding countries, with the exception of Liechtenstein. England definitely has more graffiti, particularly on trains! So I seriously doubt that this train has been vandalized in Switzerland! 🙂
