Are There Errors in the Bible and if so, How do We Explain Them?

- Are there errors in the Bible and if so, how can we explain them? Many skeptics will claim that the Bible that we have today has errors in them. Very few people can point to these alleged "contradictions." However, every so often someone will point to a few alleged "inconsistencies." In this video I share exactly what these are and how to answer them.

What do you mean, "alleged contradictions"? There are very clear and blatant contradictions in the bible. The happenings at Jesus' tomb, Judas' death just to name a couple. They are not alleged. Two different passages saying two different things that are mutually exclusive of each other is not alleged.
Weak apologists ... making more atheists every day.
There is also the parts where science show that the alleged events in the bible did not happen at all, like genesis, exodus, the flood etc.
@@freddan6fly yeah yeah
This guy clearly admits that the scribes made errors then says they are not errors
@@freddan6fly do you blindly believe everything scientists say? Hmm sounds like a religion 😎 so did you just read some science books? And believe? Hmm strange sound awfully familiar to the bible 🤣
@@SeanBeatsMapson No I don't believe what scientists say, I accept, since they always have evidence as opposed to you who blindly believe without an iota of evidence. Just because you did not go to school, does mean that I did not. I did. Your lies from brainwash and personal incredulity means nothing. Science is knowledge and the bible is a fantasy. The irony is think when you use a tool developed by science to spread your anti-reality and anti-scientific lies.
When people open the Bible to read, they will find whatever they are looking for, if it's something to argue about, they'll find it, if they are looking to find the Truth, they'll find that as well. Many people who have problems with the Bible, aren't looking for the Truth, but only to find something for which to judge God, the only One through Whom their Salvation depends.
If only there was some sort of counsel or authority who, could give everyone a clear precise interpretation, guided by the holy Spirit.
NEd Stormblessed that makes no sense.
NEd Stormblessed Biblical interpretation is clear. The only reason there is so many misinterpretations is because so called Christians reject the pillar and foundation of truth, the Catholic church.

+Dr Jan Itor I believe in Jesus Christ, that HE is the pillar, and any man's faith who is built on the pillar of Jesus Christ, builds his home on stable foundation, and his faith will not be shaken in times such as these, when the storms of doubt roll in. Please check this video out, from a man who was a Catholic Priest for 22 years...
If you are TRUELY looking for the Truth, HERE IT IS --> ua-cam.com/video/7k-jvWchaXE/v-deo.html
Here are two question I would like answered: 1) Why did God not make sure we got his pure uncorrupted word?; 2) Why is God's word so full of _apparent_ contradictions that he needs men to defend it?
exactly. The fact that these mental gymnastics need to be done to justify the hundreds of contradiction in the book tells you all you need to know. He barely scratched the surface here
My attempt to answer: 1) I think we didn’t get the original texts copied exactly because the little things that are different don’t make so much a difference. We have more then enough to be saved and to know what is truth, and I believe he gives wisdom to understand what we as man cannot. I take it in faith. “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
1 Corinthians 2:14
2) here’s a concept that is brought up in these two verses. “At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes.”
Matthew 11:25 KJV “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” 1 Corinthians 1:21 .God doesn’t need man to defend his word. He actually planned it this way. Simple faith saves. The wisdom of this world is brought to foolishness. If a man is looking for God he needs humility and complete faith and trust in God. Otherwise if everything was plain and black and white and 100% solid evidence/proof, everyone on earth would have no other choice except to accept the Bible.
@@jzarkovacki I want to thank you for the time you took and the respectful way you answered my post. These look a lot like thought-stopping techniques to me, a way to deflect looking at the weak points in an ideology, and that concerns me.
As for whether simple faith saves... that depends on who you ask. If you look at something like Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus says nothing about believing in him or accepting his sacrifice. It's about feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, taking care of the sick and sheltering the homeless. When asked how to attain the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus says "obey the commandments, sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor".
But let's say we had complete solid evidence, then everyone would have no other choice to accept the Bible. Why would that be a bad thing? We could still reject the offer. Satan knows God's power and existence - better than most humans - and he still rejects God. I personally would some very convincing answers before I worship a God that commands infanticide or arranges things so human sacrifice occurs (have to be careful with the wording there). Or sends bears to kill children for calling an old man bald.
@Valdagast you will never understand the things of God if God himself doesn’t open your understanding, which happens when we ask Him to, which requires faith. Without faith you’ll never have your questions answered or understand. So if you don’t have that we can talk for hours and go no where.
Here’s a passage for you to contemplate, (you may be the subject of it) “And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest at any time they should see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And should understand with their heart, And should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.”
Matthew 13:10-16 KJV
As for simple faith : “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:9-10 KJV
The works part of it in Matthew 25 is AFTER we believe and are saved. that you talked about is not what saves us, although we will be judged by our works. It’s a hard balance to explain over text (faith and works) james 1 talks about faith without works is dead so those works (good deeds, bearing fruit) come out of someone who loves God and wants to bring “fruits” for his glory, and to show evidence that that person is a child of God
@Valdagast you’re right in that last paragraph, I was wrong what I said. The Bible talks about how some people could see Jesus come from heaven to them and still not believe. Once again, it requires faith which is seeing without believing. But I’m not putting my trust in something weak or foolish or imperfect. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son as a test of Abraham faith. God knew what the outcome would be and had no intention that Abraham would actually do that. But it was for Abraham himself to see and prove his faith. Unlike Abraham, God actually sacrificed his son for us. It’s easy to look at the atrocities in the Bible about how God destroyed people, but those people were wicked and corrupt themselves and God knew they would never repent. Those pagan nations also committed infanticide sacrificing their children in the fire to their gods. It is part of Gods righteous justice to destroy evil. Because God loves life he just hate abortion. Because God loves righteousness he must hate wickedness. Do we get to tell our creator he is wrong? Do we get to tell the one who made all there is that his ways are incorrect? Our understanding is so limited, and our minds/knowledge is weak and pathetic compared to His infinite knowledge. We can’t know His ways. But I trust God more then I trust myself.
In the video's explanation about the scribes copying the Old Testament he says the phrase: "Often times they would miss a [detail on a letter resulting in changing a word]". I understand he's just trying to quickly communicate a point, but In an effort to be clear, this was not, in fact, 'often'. It was incredibly rare. So rare that after the Dead Sea Scrolls of the Old Testament were found (written c. 125 BC) and compared to our then-best Old Testament manuscripts (written c. 900 AD) they were nearly Identical; with less than a 0.5% deviation - and most of those only deviating in common use of spelling (much like how we do not spell the same way as ye olde English) and not a single deviation that changes the meaning of a given passage. After 1000 years of copying and re copying, nothing changed. This is unheard of in all other works in human history.
When you contrast the Bible against EVERY OTHER classical work in human history, it is more accurate than the next 10 works of literature COMBINED. Do your philosophy professors teaching Plato or Aristotle mention that there's many errors and we don't even know for certain if those men wrote the works we have with their names on them? Seriously. We have ~250 surviving manuscripts of Plato's work (originally written ~400 BC) and our oldest copy of it is from ~900 AD; we're talking 1,300 years off from the original writings. Or Aristotle? less than 50 manuscripts of his works 1400 years off from the originals. A lot can happen in that much time, but their authorship or accuracy are not questioned. The most well-preserved work in history aside from the Bible? Homer's Illiad with around 1750 manuscripts and 500 years off from the Bible. It contains around 5% deviation (10x more than the Old Testament) resulting in whole paragraphs-worth of error. This is the best we have of all ancient works, yet its reliability is not called into question.
The Bible? We have nearly 6,000 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament written around 25-50 years after the originals (eye witnesses could still have been alive to confirm the contents of the manuscripts we have in our possession) We have another 18,000 translations into other local languages from that same time (they were getting the gospel out after all). 24,000 copies and they all agree. With the Old Testament, thanks to finds like the Dead Sea Scrolls we have 42,000 scrolls, codices and fragments all saying the same thing. They're 300-1300 years off from the originals (the Old Testament was written over a very long time span after all); with tangible proof that due to their copy methods it had not changed for 1000 years (125 BC-900 AD). Therefore we have confidence it did not change prior to that either. No one created methods and calculations to count every letter of every page, or to be able to name the middle letter in a given row of a given page for Homer's works, but the Jewish scribes did so with the Bible. No one would throw away months of painstaking work if a word was found in error when copying Plato's writings, but the Jewish scribes would with the Bible. No other book was so revered that when its age showed, with ink fading and pages degraded to a point where it risked being read incorrectly that they would hold something akin to a funeral service and bury it (so as to preserve the accuracy of the text at all costs). Yet The same people who teach classical literature today - with their widely-divergent and few in number manuscripts - will question the Bible for its accuracy.
The Bible is even more accurate/reliable than the works of Shakespeare (which were written AFTER the invention of the printing press) - yet in every single one of his plays there are gaps in the printed text where scholars have literally no idea what was written and have actually made 'conjectural emendations' (a fancy way to say "best guess") to fill them.
The Bible is the most reliable & accurate ancient literary work in all of human history, and that is a verifiable, undeniable fact. Those facts do not necessarily prove the contents and claims of the Bible (though there are internal and external tests which can do so), but it is out of pure ignorance if someone tells you that the Bible is inaccurate due to its age or copy methods. So yes, scribal errors exist, but they are rare, known, categorized, listed, etc. and we have thousands of other manuscripts to compare them against. None of them change the message or meaning of any passage. The original writings were the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and what has been preserved over time is supremely accurate and reliable to those originals by every standard we have. God Bless!
concerning 2 Sam 10 and Chronicles, there still remain no error at all. when we look at the KJV we see Samuel record 700 charioteers of "MEN" and Chronicles record 7000 men that we're charioteers, its the exact same thing.. 700 chariots of 10 men is equal to 7000 men.
The vantage point of the author is what makes the difference, nonetheless if the bible is inspired by God there is no room for human error. Thus we need to seek God for what he is saying and not accept scribal errors.
most of what is perceived as errors, is simply different spelling based on geography... e.g US spells a word "favor" vs Europe spells it "favour" same word, same meaning only difference is geography
God bless keep up the good work!
AMEN! THANK YOU BROTHER!

@@INGEN_Dahnie-el-aha-ha All scripture is given by the inspiration of God. The Old Testament points us to the New, because in itself the Old Testament is incomplete prophesying of the Messiah that was to come (Jesus) who will fulfill what is written in the old testament and he did come and all of the New Testament point to the old and both lead us to Christ. So yes both testaments are the true inspired word of God

I used to believe the same. All my life until just recently, in fact. I can list you many reasons the NT is false. First and most importantly, there are too many scriptures in the NT that go against the basic foundation of the old Testament. Secondly, JC your supposed "messiah" doesnt even fit the requirements that are lisedt in the OT for a messiah. An example would be him not being from the line of Kind David and Solomon. This was so good. God is so good. Yesterday when I was reading my daily scripture God prompted me to read the story of the stoning Stephen. While I reading I came across an incinsistency that said that Moses was a strong speaker. But in Exodus Moses made an excuse to God, when he told him to rescue His People, that he was a terrible speaker, so God told him he would use Aaron. I was very perplexed, but I trusted God and left it in his hands. God showed me the notification of this video when I was in a wifi zone. I got to admit you threw me off with a Saturday upload but I'm happy to see it
The burden of sin was bore upon the cross by the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who places the burden of sin upon a sinner to be saved is propagating a false gospel of self-righteousness. Jesus paid it all... and He died in our place taking the punishment we all deserve...
Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through repentance and faith. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved of themselves, He will only save those who know they need a savior and are trusting Him to be saved. The only requirement to be saved is to admit that you are a guilty sinner in God's sight (Romans 3:19-26) and to turn to Jesus Christ in faith trusting in His death burrial and Ressurection (Romans 10:9-13). You must come as an ungodly sinner to be saved. No one has ever been saved except the UNGODLY (Romans 4:5-8). God doesn't save the self-righteous, who are going about to establish their own righteousness (Matthew 7:21-23). We can only be saved by God's righteousness, which is through faith in Christ. Philippians 3:9 says, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”
how ur God is Just when he accept an innocent blood ?
How ur God is Fair and Just with his own son.?
@sayedf11 Romans 6:23 “ the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life” through Jesus Christ our Lord”. He is just and fair because he did not ‘sweep mankind’s sin’ under the carpet or turn away from our sin. He dealt with it by mercifully giving his son as a sacrifice so we don’t have to be eternally condemned. Guess what? His son, Jesus was not forced to die for our sins. He willing died for our sins.(John 10:18). Because Jesus is also God, death was not his final destiny. His resurrection sealed the deal. There is no other sacrifice needed for sin. God in his wisdom, love and justice planned redemption to be through his son, to save us. It takes accepting him as savior and also the Holy Spirit to make this truths clearer

sayedf11. You bring up good points. One thing that I believe can help understand the Bible is understanding the difference between the old covenant and the new covenant (which began after Jesus death and resurrection).
In the scriptures you mentioned, God was dealing with Israel under the old covenant before the cross not on the basis of Jesus sacrifice. In the new covenant, God does not relate with us on the basis of sin (Heb 8:12-13 10:16-17), the new covenant was prophesied also by many Old Testament prophets. God is relating with us on the basis of if we accepted Jesus sacrifice as the payment for sin.
On the basis of the new covenant, God does not turn away from those who place their trust in Jesus. That is what the scriptures I listed explain and those are the scriptures that explicitly explain the new covenant

So an all powerful God couldn't make sure that his divinely inspired word was reproduced and translated without error? It's irrelevant that the original texts may have been inerrant if we don't have them. Our understanding of the scripture is based on the scriptures that we do have. If the copies that we have have errors then so does our understanding of them.

Millions of muslims all over the world have memorized it page by page, letter by letter sentence by sentence. thus making it impossible to destroy
@@HowTwo007 LOL
@@HowTwo007 What exactly is day 1 of Qur'an? I thought Qur'an was compiled after Mohammed's death, from scriptures and parts that are memorized or written down by thousands of people. So how can we know original word is kept? But even if Qur'an, since it's compilation, was kept in original form, which is possible and impressive human effort, how does that prove it's divine origin?
@@goranmilic442 Great question
as god revealed the quran over time to muhammad, muhammad revealed them to his companions. And many of them memorized it all. So when muhammad died, they gathered all the people who had memorized it all and put it into physical book form. There were thousands of them who had memorized it all.
Same way today, if you destroyed all the religious scriptures in the world. Muslims would get a few hafiz (means protector in arabic, title given to one who memorized the entire quran) in a room , and within a day or 2 reproduce the exact book word for word. No other religious scripture can do this
And with regard to the second question, about divine origin, watch this video, its easy to understand and very logical

I looked at the athiest website where they try to show so called "fallacies and contradictions" in it, and see that the things they quoted as being wrong was really their wrong interpretation and them not having an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying. They are of the world and don't know what they are reading.

I believe that the word of God is still sacred and holy but falls shy of being totally inerrant. What God has Spoken directly is always true, accurate and the same as He means it, He doesn't Speak a truth and a Lie. Now the shortcoming comes in recalling the Word of God and translating it. There is No original manuscripts of the Hebrew OT or the NT scriptures but I haven't heard any explanation acceptable to one demoniac man versus two demoniac men, going with spokeman viewpoint therefore the second man is eliminated is not acceptable. Two men being possessed, delivered and sent to preach in their hometown Decapolis could never be watered down to one person. Also 1Chro21 stating that at the precise moment David negotiated to buy at the FULL price the threshing floor place etc for 600 shekels of gold but 1Sam24 saids that David at the exact precise time of event bought the threshing floor floor for 50 shekels of silver, David couldn't have given two different amounts at the same time for the same thing. David verily could of bought the entire land for 600 shekels of gold later but not at the exact time, Chronicles & Samuels describes. So this along with many other human errors prove that the Bible is given innerancies by the touch of men, which God allowed. It still doesn't pollute the text, it's still holy. The things happened but not every single thing was perfectly described as they happened or stated. The Bible can still be trusted because the underlying values agree.
@@leecorrisahughes6061 what I'm referring to are the matters of importance not human error or simple little errors that is a result of fallible men. I'm referring to them speaking on larger issues. I've noticed a few discrepancies, but many are merely several different accounts from several different viewpoints. We all can all see the same accident happen and have different vantage points or remember more than others. The main story will be the same. There was an accident! The main points are all that matter and that's Jesus.
@@MrzWill
100% CORRECT!! The only thing that matters is GOD, and GOD sending His only begotten son, Jesus! Their Divinity, what Jesus came to do... which was to reconcile us back to GOD; That He is the spotless sinless Lamb of GOD, Son of GOD, that He died and rose again, proving He was GOD, and that there is Life after death! This is the true part that cannot be compromised. if man messes with that part of the Bible... then we can safely say the Bible has been corrupted.
The stories in the bible are for our learning, to see how a Holy GOD communicated with His people and to learn how to reverance a Holy GOD, Love Him and be obedient and His unending Love for us! That's the thing that matters with the rest... and yet all we want to do is criticized the bad spelling, the bad grammar, and the inconsistencies with this... the inconsistencies with that, missing the bigger picture. Everything has a meaning behind it, everything GOD did and allowed to be writen down has an even deeper meaning behind it. The Bible says all scripture has been given by inspiration of GOD and is profitable for Doctrine for reproof correction and instruction in righteousness, that the man of GOD would be thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. It also says, no Prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation, prophecy never came by the will of man, but Holy men of GOD spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter1:20-21
GOD used these men and their personalities and languages in order to bring us the word of GOD. Men who are so capable of duplicating words, omitting words on accident, just as we have done in writing. We want to make the writers of the Bible Perfect! When they are human beings, who happened to be used by GOD.
It is not the writers of sacred scripture who have made errors, but those in a position to change what has already been writen, and then mass produce the work and give it to the public. and then we find the errors and then there are huge debates. NOT RIGHT
One question that I have heard is that Moses saw God face to face but in another part it says no one can see God's face and live. Most of the time I think people who are looking for errors are people looking for excuses not to believe.
And with that many other things ive heard like how Lot s daughter got gangraped and slavery is totally justifed in exodus 21 deutr levitcus or how incest is justifed or on how their are diffrent stories of Jesus his last words ,the empty tomb so many moral things makes you question the authenethy if this book ,who is suppose to be without errors
Moses got to speak to God face to face but still could not actually see God face. His glory is to bright to actually see details in Gods face. However that was a rare event in our human lifeline.
@DJ yes you are correct this book with al its contradictions ,murder ,slavery ,rape, genocide ect this book can not be from God.

Allen, what do you think of Logos Bible Software? Curious as to if you have used it.
Do you always use the niv I've found that the niv clearly has things added and things taken away in comparison to the kjv as does other versions of the bible.
You admit that there exist scribal errors. And we detect the ones we know about by noticing discrepancies between what is said in one book versus what is said in another book. What about scribal errors that exist where there is only one account contained in the Bible? We have no way to detect such errors. There is no other book to compare to in order to see the discrepancy. Therefore, we really have no idea how many of these errors have proliferated throughout the Bible as a whole. This is a problem.
Good point
I’ve read that it’s been determined that between the Nicea Bible, compiled in the mid 4th Century, and the 1611 King James english transition, there are approximately 14,000 differences, and since we have no original manuscripts, there’s no way to tell how many overall changes have been made throughout the history of these writings
I always get, "How can you believe a Bible written by men, with so many translations and so many interpretations?" My answer always is, "The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit and I get my understanding from that same Holy Spirit. So even if a mistake or a contradiction is found due to man's error. I get my revelation and clarification from the same Person who spoke it to the writers." Lastly I add, "spiritual things are spiritually discerned so ask the Holy Spirit to help you, because without Him you are never going to understand the Bible if you are reading it via your intellect." love the video, thanks!
If you need to have the holy spirit to understand the Bible, how can it be used to convert non Christians who don't have it? If they can't understand what they are reading while they are being converted, isn't that deceptive?
@@redshurikenrlsh1951 It is the Holy Spirit that brings God's mercy to us. Heb 10:29 He is called the Spirit of truth, He will guide us into all truth. One message foundation channel it will answer all your questions.
I recommend putting your faith/trust in God and not in men and their writings and then you don't have to come up with convoluted explanations for the inconsistencies in the works of men. If God has spoken to you directly, in clear unambiguous language, and told you to trust the works of men that are the bible, then while I might question the truth of your experience since no such experience has occurred for me, I at least can respect your trusting the words of men, because what appeared to you to be a God specifically told you to do so. But unless that has happened, you are making an idol of men, and their writings. Whether they claim to speak for God or record things God said or did, if God has not told you the things they say are His words or His will, then to believe the writings of men do reflect His words or will is you effectively choosing to believe these men over God, to say in your heart "well God has had nothing to say to me directly on this subject, so in theory I should remain neutral or feel free to come to my own conclusions, but these humans are claiming to speak for God or record things God said in the past, so I think I'll do/believe what these humans are saying instead of trusting in God that He'd tell me Himself if the things these humans were saying accurately reflected Him and His will".
To be up front, God has never clearly spoken to me directly either, and for this reason, I do not currently believe a being most human would classify as a God currently exists, but I remain open to the possibility that such a being exists, and that if this being spoke to me clearly and unambiguously, I would listen to what they had to say. I'm not saying a creature couldn't exist who, do to their unique genetic make up, could only speak through other humans, lacking the capability to speak to anyone directly, but that is not the sort of being the human writers of the bible describe. If the God they describe is real, and He wants you to know he exists, it would be to spit in this God's face to believe that He would not just speak to you to affirm His existence, and if He has anything he wants you to know about how to live your life, it is to demean this God to believe he would not just tell you what he wished to convey directly.
I'm not telling anyone to give up their faith in God, quite the opposite, I'm saying if you believe there is a God, then TRUST that God to speak directly to you clearly about anything He cares that you know. If you get a strange feeling or see what appears to be a sign, but that feeling or sign could be interpreted multiple ways, ask yourself, can I not trust God to deliver his messages to me clearly? If there is a God, and this God is anything like the God of the bible, trust that this God, not men or books or butterflies or feelings, but this God itself, will clearly and directly let you know anything and everything that God wishes you to know. To suggest that this God would require men to deliver its message is to speak ill of God, to, through your claim, imply that you think less of God then even other human beings who are often able to clearly and directly convey information to you.
@DJ Thank you DJ, I appreciate the comment and the way you think as well. In general, when communicating to people who put their trust in men over God, and thus view him through the lens those men created, even if I disagree with their decision to do so, I try to be respectful of them and their view. And since that view includes viewing God as a male, I try to refer to God as such as well, at least when referring to their view of God specifically. Having said that, for 30+ years of my life, I also put my truth not in God but in the writings of men, that is, I trusted the writings of the bible to be accurate representations of who God is, what God did in the past, and what God wanted me to do going forward. As a result of these 3 decades of trusting these writings of men over God, even though I no longer put my faith in them, many aspects of the belief still stick with me, and among them is a tendency to view the concept of a God with a masculine gender. I don't believe, if there is a God, they have to be a male, or any gender, but these old ways of thinking are hard to shake, so I apologize if they cause me to refer to God as a he outside of the previous mentioned context.
In any case, your response is a good reminder to be extra careful with choosing my words when speaking my thoughts on subjects like these. The last thing I want is to miss out an an opportunity for a meaningful conversation with some one because of an unintended pronoun. So truly, thank you again DJ!

Have ye not known? Have ye not heard? The Bible say to test and see that He is good. Ask God and he will answer your questions. He likes a challenge! He does not mind you testing him out to see if He is good. He is a jealous God, and rightly to be feared. Have we created earth, man, the sea? He can be jealous for me, that’s fine with me! Jealous for my love and affection to not give it to stone or images made from man. He can be jealous. He is God. Revenge is for the Lord. And in His anger who can stand? May God have mercy. His faithfulness and mercies are so good. For he beholds the evil and the good in the world and still loves us and waits patiently for us. What love and what joy when we are found. What Peace He has given us. Peace that no medicine can give. Peace that no man can buy for a price. Peace that a man can say it is well with my soul after loosing everything. Peace that people can’t fight or kill for. In Jesus there is peace. Try him and see that He is good.

Read Numbers 14:26-35, and you'll see why it took 40 years to make the journey. As for evidence... what are you looking for, many footprints in a desert that has consistently blown sand in every direction for thousands of years?
"Jesus says that the law of moses will stand until the earth is destroyed but Paul claims that we are not subject to the law."
There are many scriptures that involve Paul saying to obey the law, too many to list without making this message longer than it needs to be.
"Paul says God is love, and that love is not jealous, but God said he was a jealous God."
The word “jealous” is translated in the Old Testament from the Hebrew word qin’ah, and in the New Testament from the Greek word zelos. The root idea behind both words is that of “warmth” or “heat” (Forrester, 1996). The Hebrew word for jealousy carries with it the idea of “redness of the face that accompanies strong emotion” (Feinberg, 1942, p. 429)-whether right or wrong. Depending upon the usage of the word, it can be used to represent both a good and an evil passion. Three times in 1 Corinthians, Paul used this word in a good sense to encourage his brethren to “earnestly desire (zeeloúte)” spiritual gifts (12:31; 14:1,39). He obviously was not commanding the Corinthians to sin, but to do something that was good and worthwhile. Later, when writing to the church at Corinth, the apostle Paul was even more direct in showing how there was such a thing as “godly jealousy.”
The word had different meanings in the separate languages.
God was not envious of the Israelites’ accomplishments or possessions, but was communicating His strong love for them with anthropomorphic language. If anything, God could have just said 'You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the waters beneath. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a God who loves you too much to see you do such things'
It's important to remember that the meanings of words have often changed since when they were written to the present.

"The bible says a person survived 3 days in the belly of a fish."
With a big enough fish and a bodily routine that could go 3 days without eating or digestion, this is very possible; especially with God in command.
@@odinskapari5026 Actually the Bible does say the world is round: "There is one who dwells above the circle of the earth..." The Bible is not a science textbook. At the same time, nothing in the Bible contradicts proved science. What the Bible says is “always reliable, now and forever.”-Psalm 111:8.

Your knowledge is so amazing. I always look forward to your videos. I think it would be really cool if you could do a video on your background. When you first became a believer and how you became so fascinated in studying the word in such depth. Who was a mentor for you?
Like his knowledge of purposefully not quoting a verse to avoid giving it in full so you see that his explanation about the angels does not in fact hold any water ?
Or his weird insistence that the Bible we have now is inerrant because a mythical lost "original" document he can't even prove existed in the form he asserts, didn't have the errors he admits are in the Bible ? It doesn't matter if he gives it the title of "scribal error", 700 and 7000 remain two different numbers that can't both be true at the same time as an absolute measure of the same thing at the same time.
That literally does not stop being the case because he makes an unjustified assertion he can't prove, and even if he could it would still make the error in his Bible continue to exist.
From 3:01 Allen actually admits today's Bible have errors. Scribal errors. Therefore, today's Bibles have mistakes in them. So how can we trust anything that Bible says, if we know there are errors?
@@WeirdWonderful are you saying that he is not quoting a verse?
@@WeirdWonderful fact!!!!
So you find a contidiction and then just make up something up to explain it?
Mormons have told me that the Bible was corrupted with errors after Jesus ascended. I'm glad you did a video on this topic. Allen.
Joseph Smith's Bible was written by Joseph Smith, prophesied by Joseph Smith, and Joseph Smith proclaimed himself to be a prophet in his re-writen scriptures, the book of Mormon. The only corruption is the corruption of his own work, the book of mormon. He corrupted his book with his own saying and prophecies, passing them off to be the word of GOD. The scriptures he removed are considered the corruptions. Although it has never been stated what scriptures were corrupted in the first place and there is no so-called record of that.
Our Holy Bible is not corrupted. Misspellings and errors in numbering does not equal corruption. "Corruption" is when you take the Divinity away from Jesus Christ. Corruption is when one can be baptized for the dead and that practice is still done in the Mormon church today." "Corruption" is when you make works, apart of GOD's Grace to gain salvation. "Corruption" is prophesying and those prophecies do not come to pass, which makes you a false prophet. Now that's Corruption! And this is what Joseph Smith wrote in the Book of Mormon.
Right. The Book of Mormon says the Bible went through the great and abominable church(many believe is the Catholic church, the the more broader definition is any church that's not the true church), and many plain and precious truths were taken out of it. Then the Book of Mormon was to restore many plain and precious truths what was originally in the Bible. Ask them if they know what are the plain and precious truths that were taken out of the Bible and were restored by the Book of Mormon. Go over textual criticism with them so they can know that we can trust the Bible. Reach out in love and know that they are the prize not the opposition since we wrestle not against flesh and blood. I would recommend that you encourage them to keep drawing near to Jesus and focus their relationship with Him, to abide in Him and His words abide in them, to learn more about His words in the gospels and to follow them. Textual criticism supports the accuracy of the Bible. Reach out in love and patience and pray for them and know that when many people leave Mormonism, it is extremely earth shattering and they go to atheism. Some do find Jesus. Let them know that there is ample evidence that shows the Bible is trustworthy. Encourage an in depth look at the evidence, but above all, a relationship with Jesus is the most important to us because He is Life.
PS: you can point out that there are KJV scribal errors that are found in the BOM. Additionally, if you use the passage in Rev that says not to add to or take away from this book, they will say it refers specifically to the book of Revelation. Point out that JS added to it when he did the Joseph Smith translation of the Bible. God bless you.
Wolfie254 Mormon is just another name for FreeMasonry.

It is one thing to say you do not understand something in the bible, and if so, take it to the Lord in prayer for understanding. It is another thing to say that, there are errors in the bible, because God don't make mistakes and his word is he. Thank you Allen Parr for your great messages. God bless all.
In the bible: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds"
So the bible says that the mustard seed is the smallest of all seeds, which is false. So there is an error in the bible.

Yea we can't even trust the Bible when it says that there is a God. Any claim in the Bible could be wrong.
If there is 1 error in the bibles then it should be thrown away and not a reliable source from God.

If there is any errors they're errors from men not from God.
It's his word, if men make an error why doesn't he correct them?

And I'm talking about the newer versions not the old ones, there are no major errors in the bible you can trust what it says cover to cover. Back when they had to transcribe the bible they wrote one word at a time after they said it out loud, and if they made the tiniest mistake they had to scrap the whole page and start over.
They had to dedicate there lives to doing this.

Please check this look God have created two lights, for night moon light, but moon light is just a reflection of light
@@miransolkar6506 The moon does give light upon the Earth. The fact that it does so by reflection rather than emission is not relevant to the biblical passage. "Many skeptics will claim that the Bible that we have today has errors in them."
Because it does, and the absolute best that people like you can do is try to hand-wave them away with 'explanations' which only work if you literally spend no time looking at them in detail.
I know it's been said before, and it's probably been said to you several times specifically, but here it is again;
If you people have to constantly come up with excuses for why these errors aren't actually errors, then your 'perfect book' is nowhere near perfect. And if your God is so impotent that he couldn't keep his message clear and concise throughout the generations after his son supposedly died for our sins, then he isn't much of a God.
"Very few people can point to these alleged "contradictions."
I will grant that not many people can point to genuine errors within your own book, however I find it curious that when you people address this argument it's almost always the softball ones you look at. Maybe check out Viced Rhino sometime, since he has a thorough knowledge of your book's contents and can easily point to the actual errors and contradictions in it.
Exactly. The mental gymnastics is hilarious

From 3:01 Allen actually admits today's Bible have errors. Scribal errors. Therefore, today's Bibles have mistakes in them. So how can we trust anything that Bible says, if we know there are errors?
The FIRST type of error in the Bible that competent bring up, as opposed to Allen's attempts to turn significant errors into softballs, is the Great Flood and other blatantly wrong stories in the Bible. There never was such a Flood. Ever.
And errors of a factor of 10 ARE indeed real errors. No matter what the cause is.
Mark does NOT say angel. Allen lied. It says MAN, SINGULAR in the original language. Check what the Bible says whenever Allen does not show the actual verse. When he doesn't he is frequently changing it from what the Bible actually says.
To reiterate, the complete lack of a Great Flood is a MAJOR error in the Bible, its not inerrant and its not from a god.
Hey big fan here, I'm 2 minutes in and there's a big issue. David slew 7000 men. NIV got it wrong, read the KJV it clearly says he slewed the men of 700 horse chariots which means there was 10 men per chariot. No writer error! God bless
An answer to your question I like the background music. It keeps things upbeat. The music is significantly lower than your speaking voice so it works. The music doesn't drown out your voice.
