Bobby becoming gay only happened recently...he wasn't that way in the original comics...the writers only made him gay to fit with today's society of people becoming more accepting of the Gay, Lesbian, Trans community. They did it before in the early '00s in the Ultimate X-Men comics by making Colossus gay.
That was when she first got her powers. She's gotten strong enough now that she can stay phased as long as she wants to. Especially after she phased that bullet through the planet. Her powers are awesome though. She can phase against gravity as well as solid objects. Which is why she can walk on air and go up or down when phasing as if she were flying or levitating.
As I recall it's more that she still needs to breathe, so she can't remain fully phased into a solid object for a long time. She can remain phased and breathe just fine in open air, but phasing through solid materials is similar to being underwater for her.
It always threw me how Shadowcat would just phase through the X-jet without breaking it... I always thought she messed up electronics when she phased through them.
I think some of these clips maybe from X-men evolution but most are from 'Wolverine and the X-men'. The "Wolverine and the X-men' show was great, a second season was planned and the first few episodes were even completed supposedly, sadly the second season never got aired and was cancelled for reasons I don't know. It was really disappointing because the set up for a second season with Apocalypse as the antagonist had me excited. Another great show that didn't get enough love was the Fantastic Four (world's greatest super heroes) in the mid to late 2000's. The F4 show had great animation, style and story telling, it was in my opinion the first and only time F4 was properly represented, this show had a real shitty airing schedule which many blame for the reason it was cancelled. My only gripe with the F4 show was the character design, all the characters had super pointed chins but other than that it was probably one of the best super hero cartoons ever produced for television (imo). These two shows I mention are sad examples of when there's obvious passion in the quality of the work but for what ever reason the shows get cancelled while other shows with much lower standards of quality go on to have a long life span, such a shame but that's the way she goes.

So wait she can make separate parts of her body intangible? how does she keep her body parts from falling off? Oh gosh that would just be a mess. I'd be worried to have her powers. What if she phases halfway into a wall or something?
Pelcogo They way her power works is she can pass atoms safely through the spaces between other atoms. When she controls which part of her becomes intangible, she wouldn't fall apart because she's not separating pieces off of herself, they're just more "flexible" lets call it.

No, I think it fits well. because if you have read or seen any of the new iceman comics, you will see that they are so bland with how they are characterising him and putting such little effort into writing his story as believable at all: I think he recently got a boyfriend in one of the comics and moved in with him within?? a month of dating him?? and when he decided to come out to his parents, it was poorly done and ruined the whole climax the writing actually had going. Like the whole comic is a disaster. I would have preferred them to take one of their already canonly gay characters and make them more of a mainstream focus or create a new character altogether and build them up, instead of taking an already established one (again who has been the mcu known ladies man) for a token character, and not putting any effort into it. So at last, the comic book world is following a trend of just recycling what they already have and know will get them sales instead of creating new stuff with COMPLEXED and realistic characters. So yes, they did fuck up, or to a less degree, screwed up iceman and his characterization.

I think he's being genuine here. Alternate universe versions of characters tend to be quite different from their main universe counterparts, and the Marvel multiverse is by no means an exception. There are worlds where Peter Parker isn't Spider-Man, Uncle Ben is still alive, Wolverine is Japanese, and Loki is a woman. It's certainly possible for some Icemen to be straight even if the main one isn't.

I believe that if Bobby focused on girls as much as he did before Jean outed him, he would genuinely be straight. Otherwise, how the hell would would we know our sexual orientations if our efforts to train ourselves to be straight, our homophobic motives, and our dates with girls could still lead to us coming out as gay? That is why I hate coming out stories.
