In my opinion using too much clothes at once makes it worse for you to feel warm in the cold conditions. Every single one of my friends who does this feels cold at some point. I use most often 3 - 4 layers of clothing and try to balance things out and wear as little as possible to feel that it doesnt absorb moisture from my own body. Of course it has to fit the kind of activity that I would be currently doing. For example Hike: 1. Merino baselayer (top and bottom) 2. Fleece (preferably polartec) 3. Insulated jacket (synthetic insulation is my go-to as it works even when wet) 4. Gore-tex jacket (most of the time in the backpack and used only when really windy or rainy weather kicks in) 5. Softshell pants Normal day: 1. Regular t-shirt (preferably Uniqlo U as it has great materials used to be comfy and functional at once) The rest stays the same except sometimes I use lighter/cotton pants Sunday or holidays: 1. Regular T 2. Fleece/Wool sweater/Shirt 3. Woolen coat + woolen scarf A lot of people reccomend this and probably will work for you if you are a healthy young adult (male) thats active
Cool. It doesn't get that cold very often where I'm from, but when it does get cold hopefully now I can stay outside for more than a few minutes lol
For what arctic winter are you preparing?
