I have to thank you for making this video. I had a leak on my level valve and living in AK it was going to cost me about $150 dollars. I went out bought an O-ring kit and replace all O-rings and haven’t had an air bleed off for a week now. Thank You.
Saw your post on Insta. I have one today that is bad on a Freightliner Columbia. It's getting a new valve, but I'm going save the old one and see if I can fix it. I wouldn't have known and just thrown it away if I hadn't seen this. Thanks Clay!
+Matthew Cox thank you sir ! That is very helpful especially when the local NAPA (No Auto Parts Available) doesn’t have one on hand or the dealership is too busy to answer the phone and actually look it up ! Rebuilding is always an answer ! Thank you for the comment and thanks for watching !!
I've found to use a terminal spade disconnect tool handy to get the small o rings off. I always stretched them with a pick or o ring spoon. Great video!
+Dexter ruteke I will have to try that ! Thanks for the tip. Also thank you for watching and thanks for the comment ! That’s what I like about this community people always share useful information and try to help each other out ! Thanks again.
Imagine if it leaks while new what's gona be after rebuild, it is 50/50 if it leaks or not afterwards! Most of the time you gona scratch the surface while trying to take the old O ring and then the new one will not be able to seal there properly. I'm saying this from experience. I be tried to repair valves, fitings and what not, most of the time still leaks, but I do succeed from time to time 😁. Some time is not worth the waste of time. They are made so cheap, the fuckin plastic just deforms after a while. They must make them all metal. I wish!
Im working on a hydraulic system on a sedan and i got jealous when you said they cost 100$ for a new one. The ones i need are anywhere from 1300 to not available
Hello after watching this video I decided to rebuild my Hadley duel levelling with smart pressure dump ,1st it had 10 “0” rings with balance shaft in middle splitting 2 sides ,put everything together with bad deep cuts on bleeding hand then installed it fired up truck then bags just kept climbing 6” 🧗♀️ jumped into truck to shut it down .It took 4 tries to set it right because threading on shaft is what balanced 2 chambers inside the air valve , fixed it but never again rebuilding it !
Appreciate for share this amazing and very useful video. Really interesting. I don’t need any other video on this since I watch this. Wow 👍 If you plz share from where we can buy repair kit and what names are of those tools you use in this video. Thanks for your time
I just subscribe to your channel very good video on replacing the O rings on thst leveling valve. I have a 2006 volvo vnl670 and the cab suspension leveling valve iam trying to raise it up cuz the 2 rubber bumb stop is rubing on the frame and i been getting this wobble when iam driving. Any idea if you could make a video on it ? Thanks
And that’s why I use Koon trucking to work on my stuff!! I tell drivers you can replace parts spend tons of money or let y’all work on it fix the right way!
My horse trailer leveling valve leaks or releaes air every time we remove horses out of the trailer less weight and keeps the air compressor running. Does that mean the leveling valve isn't working properly? The compressor turns on initially and levels the triale rno problem, once the air gauge is all full and then cuts off the compressor. But my issue is occurring when we remove weight it kicks on the compressor and the leveling valve won't stop releasing air
Hey thanks for the vid, is the cab leveling valve the same? Do you know if the cab valve is strictly flowing air outwards or does it take air back from the bags since it has a diaphragm? thanks
+Mike Albrecht we use o ring lube on them. Vaseline will also work on oil based rings (that run in oil) and you can use KY jelly on water based stuff (water or antifreeze) etc. strange to open up a toolbox drawer and see KY jelly, Vaseline and fingernail polish but ..... it’s in there !
Thank you good man. Very impressive. On my Peterbilt valve is leaking, so, do I need to replace rubber rings, if yes, where can I buy rubber rings, or just use some Vaseline. Thank you good man.
You can pick them up at a Napa or some other type of parts store. Just take them in there and ask for some replacement o rings. We buy them in an o ring assortment kit that has many different sizes but you can buy them individually usually about $0.05 each up to about $0.10 for the ones in a leveling valve. There will probably be 4-5 in there
I have a 2004 Monaco Diplomat pusher RV right front sags will this also fix my issue Tech charged me $95.00 just to tell me your small leak ride height valve small leak RV will sag after a few days not to worry ! would a leveling valve renew the O rings fix this? Thanks
Don’t buy them from a dealer. Any auto parts store will have o rings. Nothing special just regular o rings. U can buy them for less than $2 or buy a kit and keep them on hand.
I have to use any one besides NAPA if possible ...the one in my town charges up to 3 times for the same products that I got from Parts Plus. just sayin! The 3/8 nylon air line I bought from PP cost .81 cents a foot the same thing at NAPA was $3.21 cents a foot ! The push to connecter was 54 $ (tee and union adapter 3/8 to 1/4) bought the compression adapter for 9 dollars at ACE. for 44 and 60 equals a savings of over a hundred dollars! NO THANKS I'll SHOP where they don't GOUGE me.
The round disc is missing from his video, the disc was made from hard anodized aluminum or ceramic, those orings do not leak except for the main shaft one maybe. The main shaft slides inside the round disc. You had a hard time removing bolts because they are covered with thread lock, you need to get rid of that with wire wheel before unscrewing them.
+chris jones those little mini pick sets are really handy ! I use them all the time. I have a snap on set, a kobalt set and a Pittsburg set. The snap on ones are my favorite just because of the handles / grips on them. The others are slippery when they get grease or oil on them. Thanks for watching and thank you for the comment ! Get u a set of them..... u will use them much more than you think.
+chris jones the set I have is the 4 piece soft grip set SGASA204CO they are $49 but they have them in pink, green, yellow and orange. They are super handy to have.
chris jones not a problem my friend. When you go on the truck tell him you want the big red snap on catalog!! It’s nice to flip through it and make a wish list ! Hahaha I have all kind of stuff circled and pages turned down. Never know when stuff will pop up on sale in the monthly flyer and you will remember what those prices are ! I may not can tell you the price of a gallon of gasoline today but I can tell you what the tools I have circled in that book will cost !! Let me know when you get them .... u will use them a lot !
Maximum respect for people, like you, who actually fix parts, when possible, rather than just pull and replace them.
That fix there saved about $130 ...... if i could do that 4 days a week that adds up !
It surely does. No doubt about that.
Man, that is dirt simple once you explain it. Thanks.

That’s awesome! Glad I could help you out and save you some time, trouble and money ! Thanks for commenting and watching the video !
From where you purchased o-ring kit, sir. And what’s the name of the tools kit you used to fix it. Thanks

Ha ha thanks. You might as well hit that subscribe button it’s free!!
Is nothing but rubber O rings !! That’s great video
Very impressed that you didn't stab your thumb with the pick, I, on the other hand, am 100% in the stab dept. LOL.
Terry Stoner haha I guess I just got lucky cause I’ve been known to donate blood ! Haha I’m usually accident prone.
I see, so you have hydrogen-peroxide and bandages as part of your tool kit also, thought I was the only one....
Terry Stoner haha and Neosporin !!
Awesome, I've never had time to take 1 apart before! Pretty neat, $1 worth of o-rings might get you out of a bind 1 day. Good info as always Mr. Koon.
👍👍 thx for sharing, as useful as always..have a great weekend
Although it's different I'm going to rebuild one for a 1984 Cadillac Seville most likely the same principle so thank you very much for this video
Sir respect to. I owe you a beer my guy ... currently this video is helping me out.
Glad I could help

Ive found that a 50 cent pick from harbor freight works great lol been using them for heavy duty transmissions for years
Wow that’s just what I needed to Know I’ve got one that’s “new”and still Leaking air...!

Take it back then. Why you gonna buy a new one and take it apart lol
Im working on a hydraulic system on a sedan and i got jealous when you said they cost 100$ for a new one. The ones i need are anywhere from 1300 to not available
You are SPECIAL, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY BROTHER!!!!

DAAAAAANG! I do the same thing to various air valves and what not. Great tip!

Is this the same for cab leveling valve?
You guys are awesome 👍👍👍👌👌👌. Love your channel.
Thanks for watching !

That’s a complex one for sure. Regular leveling valves are gravy as you see in the video here.
Can this valve cause vibrations?
I have hadley valve on 2017 prostar and cant find whats causing vibration
Thank you. The one on trailer is leaking and I was wondering if it can be repaired
Thanks for the video.
You know where to get the arm bolt?
Appreciate for share this amazing and very useful video. Really interesting.
I don’t need any other video on this since I watch this. Wow 👍
If you plz share from where we can buy repair kit and what names are of those tools you use in this video. Thanks for your time
It’s just standard o rings inside ? Just pick up any generic o ring kit
I just subscribe to your channel very good video on replacing the O rings on thst leveling valve. +Brandon Jackson thank you very much for that comment !! We try to do things the right way if there is such a thing !!
I think by the time i watch all.your videos ill.be a certified tech..lol. thanks..where can i get them rings though????
U can get it at NAPA.

Great video. Thank you.
So do you also do this with quick connects? In seven years I've never considered taking a leveling valve apart.
Now do you lube that with Vaseline? That's what I was taught i guess. So they decompose from a solvent in other types of oils.

Thank you so much! I it helps me
Glad it helped you out !!
I want to design a no moving part valve, uses proximty sensors or similar, get rid of the linkage arms.
Replaced o rings still leaking out exhaust port. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Hi.. Mine is leaking very slow from the release part. What do you think I should do..
WHAT!!!! I will be trying this next time I get a leaky one.
+Cush the Mechanic it works my friend ! And save u a lot of CA$H ! Thank you for watching and thanks for the comment
Koon Trucking no problem man. All about saving a dollar.
Hi I’m thinking replacing my leveling valve how do you level ? What measurement do u use? Please help
Looks like zinc or steel hexhead screws in an aluminum body.. any suggestions on how to keep from breaking the bolts?
Spray with penetrating oil and let sit. Then tap and repspray
Great tip! Thank you for the video!
Thank you
How about a Foot valve leaking in a 03 379 Pete? Looks like a Real Pain.
Is it normal for air to leak out of there when you shut the truck off?
No
Got 3 off real easy with 3/16 Allen ratchet. 4th one snapped right off.
Great video
+Big Daddypat thank you sir. Many people don’t know that they can be rebuilt. They are very easy !
Good video do you know if the dealer sell those 0 rings?
Don’t buy them from a dealer. Any auto parts store will have o rings. Nothing special just regular o rings. U can buy them for less than $2 or buy a kit and keep them on hand.
@@KoonTrucking Thank you very much and for your reply.
Where you get the replacement parts from
Just o rings from an o ring kit

👍
is there a oring kit for these or just use any oring that will fit?
Just find them in an assortment box.
Thanks
Still could fix that valve with an ez out and tap and die set to chase the threads.
You forgot diverted plate and it’s orientation
You are missing a very important piece tho 😎
The round disc is missing from his video, the disc was made from hard anodized aluminum or ceramic, those orings do not leak except for the main shaft one maybe. I just broke one of the 4 screws 😂
Oh god, don't shoot
U just sold me on buying a pick set.
+chris jones those little mini pick sets are really handy ! I use them all the time. I have a snap on set, a kobalt set and a Pittsburg set. Koon Trucking I'd get the snap on's to match my screwdrivers. Do u happen to know price of set?
+chris jones the set I have is the 4 piece soft grip set SGASA204CO they are $49 but they have them in pink, green, yellow and orange. They are super handy to have.
Koon Trucking take my $$$$ lol. Def want red to match my screwdriver set. Thanks for response

Totally waste of time since most of screws will be rusted and impossible to open it up 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
We rebuild them pretty often
