    Maximum respect for people, like you, who actually fix parts, when possible, rather than just pull and replace them.

      That fix there saved about $130 ...... if i could do that 4 days a week that adds up !

    I have to thank you for making this video. I had a leak on my level valve and living in AK it was going to cost me about $150 dollars. I went out bought an O-ring kit and replace all O-rings and haven’t had an air bleed off for a week now. Thank You.

    Saw your post on Insta. I have one today that is bad on a Freightliner Columbia. It's getting a new valve, but I'm going save the old one and see if I can fix it. I wouldn't have known and just thrown it away if I hadn't seen this. Thanks Clay!

That is very helpful especially when the local NAPA (No Auto Parts Available) doesn’t have one on hand or the dealership is too busy to answer the phone and actually look it up ! • @dimitrovbmw
      @dimitrovbmw 4 роки тому +1

      Imagine if it leaks while new what's gona be after rebuild, it is 50/50 if it leaks or not afterwards! Most of the time you gona scratch the surface while trying to take the old O ring and then the new one will not be able to seal there properly. I'm saying this from experience. I be tried to repair valves, fitings and what not, most of the time still leaks, but I do succeed from time to time 😁. Some time is not worth the waste of time. They are made so cheap, the fuckin plastic just deforms after a while. They must make them all metal. I wish!

    Hello after watching this video I decided to rebuild my Hadley duel levelling with smart pressure dump ,1st it had 10 “0” rings with balance shaft in middle splitting 2 sides ,put everything together with bad deep cuts on bleeding hand then installed it fired up truck then bags just kept climbing 6” 🧗‍♀️ jumped into truck to shut it down .It took 4 tries to set it right because threading on shaft is what balanced 2 chambers inside the air valve , fixed it but never again rebuilding it !

      That’s a complex one for sure. Regular leveling valves are gravy as you see in the video here.

    My horse trailer leveling valve leaks or releaes air every time we remove horses out of the trailer less weight and keeps the air compressor running. Does that mean the leveling valve isn't working properly?
    The compressor turns on initially and levels the triale rno problem, once the air gauge is all full and then cuts off the compressor. But my issue is occurring when we remove weight it kicks on the compressor and the leveling valve won't stop releasing air

  • @AMDD708

    Hey thanks for the vid, is the cab leveling valve the same? Do you know if the cab valve is strictly flowing air outwards or does it take air back from the bags since it has a diaphragm? thanks

  • @WTFMIKE

    Now do you lube that with Vaseline? That's what I was taught i guess. So they decompose from a solvent in other types of oils.

    • @KoonTrucking
      @KoonTrucking  7 років тому +5

      +Mike Albrecht we use o ring lube on them. Vaseline will also work on oil based rings (that run in oil) and you can use KY jelly on water based stuff (water or antifreeze) etc. strange to open up a toolbox drawer and see KY jelly, Vaseline and fingernail polish but ..... it’s in there !

    Thank you good man. Very impressive. On my Peterbilt valve is leaking, so, do I need to replace rubber rings, if yes, where can I buy rubber rings, or just use some Vaseline. Thank you good man.

    • @KoonTrucking
      @KoonTrucking  6 років тому

      You can pick them up at a Napa or some other type of parts store. Just take them in there and ask for some replacement o rings. We buy them in an o ring assortment kit that has many different sizes but you can buy them individually usually about $0.05 each up to about $0.10 for the ones in a leveling valve. There will probably be 4-5 in there

    I have to use any one besides NAPA if possible ...the one in my town charges up to 3 times for the same products that I got from Parts Plus. just sayin! The 3/8 nylon air line I bought from PP cost .81 cents a foot the same thing at NAPA was $3.21 cents a foot ! The push to connecter was 54 $ (tee and union adapter 3/8 to 1/4) bought the compression adapter for 9 dollars at ACE. for 44 and 60 equals a savings of over a hundred dollars! NO THANKS I'll SHOP where they don't GOUGE me.

      The round disc is missing from his video, the disc was made from hard anodized aluminum or ceramic, those orings do not leak except for the main shaft one maybe. The main shaft slides inside the round disc. You had a hard time removing bolts because they are covered with thread lock, you need to get rid of that with wire wheel before unscrewing them.
