Today I take you to the landlocked country of Luxembourg. On top of the hill, is this picturesque castle, commanding a fine view of surrounding parts of the valley. This stunning building dates back to the late 19th century and is steeped in history. The building was constructed by Mr. Galois, who came from an important Luxembourgish family that was prominent in politics and industry in that time period. He was the head of the household and had thirteen children by two wives, and made this castle... the home of his family. As his children grew older and decided to live on their own, he and his wife at the time found the castle to be too voluminous and decided to turn it into a hotel and to live on a smaller scale. Ultimately, Mr. Galois died at the age of 64 and the castle was sold. This time not to a Luxembourg family, but to an Arab family who bought the property as a summer residence. The castle thus became the new property of a prosperous oil sheik and his family. Their Islamic faith is still reflected everywhere in their former holiday home by the day of today. But now comes the interesting part that we observed during our research. The last Arab owner of this property died in 2015. This is the exact year that the former king of Saudi Arabia died and we see this important person everywhere in photos spread throughout the property. It gets even crazier: the owner has exactly the same name as this former king of Saudi Arabia. However, further research refutes this theory: we then arrive at a FaceBook profile of the owner, of which we will not share much with respect for the next of kin. Here we find the heartbreaking reports of the loss of their loved one. After this sorrowing event, his family never returned from Saudi Arabia to visit their castle. Instead, I'm visiting it today to take you into the bewitching story of this Arabian family and give you a glimpse into their lives.

The game in the zippered case is called 'Backgammon'. "Backgammon is one of the oldest known board games. Its history can be traced back nearly 5,000 years to archaeological discoveries in Mesopotamia. It is a two-player game where each player has fifteen pieces that move between twenty-four triangles according to the roll of two dice."

Duvarlara Kur'an'dan ayetler koymuşlar, fakat yaşayışları Kur'an'ın gösterdiği yol ile kesinlikle ilgisi yok.

I am luxemburgish and it's sad to see how much changed in this location since my first visit... Great Video and this castle is definitely one of the most beautiful ones in Luxembourg. A persom who knows the family contacted me and told me that the owner died and his wife took over the castle. The family lives in Saudi Arabia and uses the castle for vacations, the last time they were in the castle was in 2015. The person also told me that he contacted the owner and the police, because there have been many break-ins since the family is in Saudi Arabia. I hope this Location won't get rushed by people with bad intentions...

These videos of abandoned houses made me feel sad and miserable ... a person clings to this life as if he were immortal in it .. He spends enormous wealth on building palaces and luxurious residences .. and he is keen to decorate them with all kinds of precious and rare pieces .. while he forgets that he lives A mortal, non-permanent life .. and at a moment death surprises him and leaves everything behind him as if he did not exist .. as if he had never been happy .. on the contrary, he was a servant and servant in this life .. and he did not really enjoy and was not happy in the way The correct thing for happiness .. is to taste simplicity and a sense of trivial things, perhaps every day he lives..and in helping people and animals..and getting closer to God.

You make a lot of assumptions about these people of whom you really know nothing. Their lifestyle may not conform to what you or I think of as normal but that doesn’t mean they were unkind or even arrogant people. Many Islamic cultures require you to be hospitable and welcoming to strangers and to throw open your home to any relatives that may arrive at your doorstep. You are required to give your best! Wealthy people will have double Master Suites so that when a relative arrives they have equal accommodations to the householder. We here in the west suffer from an arrogance of culture that teaches us that we are not worthy unless we are BETTER. We are not satisfied with uplifting all to an equal plane, rather we feel only those who are “deserving” should be on that better plane.
I have learned in my time on earth that there is good in every culture and in all people. The more you look for and expect that good the more of it you will find. I also find that the more you see of other cultures the richer your own life becomes. The World is full of richness, why not partake of as much of it as you can?

I must say, this was quite interesting ! I'm Arab, but not from Saudi Arabia but we share lots of cultural similarities. When you were walking by the bathrooms I had to pause to check if the water pipe is next to the toilet lol ! We literally can't live without them ! If you visited an Arabic country in the future, you'll notice there's a pipe next to each toilet where you can spray water to clean after yourself.
Another thing, the bed with the radio ! I remember my grandma had one ! It was a wooden bed with a radio in the middle (very similar to the one shown in the video) and speakers on the sides. My mum said that these beds were quite trendy back then and her sister had one too when she got married :D
The heavy covers (with fur I guess?) were fascinating too! They reminded me of the olden days when the weather was colder than now and we had to use them in winter haha - sadly, they hardly exist nowadays :O !
The pots obviously show how our culture is, we can't live without our tea and Arabic coffee :D ! That explains why there were so many of them here and there :)
I absolutely loved the furniture though, it seemed like this family really loved velvet !
It wasn't surprising to me to see as many hangers as there were! Arabs have bigger families, could have 7-9 children normally and might have even more! Add to that, in one household, there could be more than one family living together! So it's absolutely normal for them to live in bigger houses, own more rooms, and need more necessities.
Also, I don't think this castle is abandoned honestly. It looks like they had repairment plans in mind but were on hold for God knows what reasons - maybe change in plans or postponed for later years. I also think they could come back anytime they want especially that their belongings and clothes are still there. Arabs wouldn't usually keep their stuff behind them unless they return back to them, if not, they would simply donate their unused things. But again, things happen out of one's hands sometimes, yet it could be a matter of time - so I really hope people wouldn't just assume things and judge others + keep in mind you could "own" something and decided when to use it or not because it's "yours" afterall :)
Soooo, anyway! Thank you for sharing this ! You did a wonderful job :)

@@myrnahall6168 One thing I can assure you is that Arabs from the Gulf region specifically are known to be very preserved people, they would NEVER leave personal documents and family pictures like that if they knew they would never return back! So, high probability, something happened and they weren't able to return for their belongings, and more importantly, they must have reasons for not taking other measures. We can't just jump into questions like why did they and why didn't they.. after all.. it's none of our business :O

The 3 pictures hanging on the wall starting from the left is King Abdulaziz the founder of Saudi Arabia, second one is King Salman who is the knig of Saudi right now, and the last one is Prince Mohammed bin Naif the crown prince at that time period.
Other thing is and it strikes me the most, is how are the doors left open like this, because the third picture hanging on the wall showed the crown prince at the time period (2015-2017) so it hasn’t been so long since someone of the owners family was here, 7 years at most. ( I watched the the whole video now and saw the food you mentioned someone was there between 2018-2019)
Hanging pictures of the royal family in houses like this mostly indicates that the owner was a politician.
    Great video.

    41:15 is an Oudh stand.
They put the burning piece of coal over it and then drop some typical Arabic perfume powder or place wood pieces soaked in perfume oil over it. As it slowly burned the woody Arabian fragrance spread around. You will see that in every arab home. The perfumed powders or wooden pieces are expensive.
Their women also perfume their hair with that smoke and their clothes before they leave homes, when they are about to pray or receive guests. This stand is given to the guests to take the perfume in their robes as well. Pretty much an everyday thing for them.

Have you learned to play backgammon since this video? It’s quite fun and strategic to play.

I haven't mastered backgammon yet, but it sounds like a fun game! As for the toys left behind, it's always poignant to see such remnants of past lives.
I didn't know Mel Brooks' movies before and have to be honest that I also do not have a lot of time to watch movies, given that I am so busy with creating movies myself, haha :D

If the comment below mine is correct, then the family in Saudi Arabia needs to understand that when you leave a castle with these kinds of expensive memories, they should expect it to be ransacked. If not there since 2015, it is a piece of eye candy for robbers. I’m surprised more has not been taken. Surveillance/police or not...it’s going to happen.
