Thankyou Tony Olsen for introducing me to Harry Belafonte. Tony was my step dads best mate and he loved the Beatles, Harry Belafonte and many artist . But he really loved playing Harry Belafonte & and the Beatles witch for me in 84 as a 14 year old was nice. And I still love the music today. It’s stuck in my brain and I’m thankful for for the introduction from a generation back from me born in 1970. I’m 52 this year and I still love music . I’m privileged to hear many genres in my short life been only like on the planet for 51 years but I’d have to say the music back in Harry Belafonte’s day was much more enriched. It doesn’t matter what technology you put into music today. You can’t take away the quality of the voice of the likes of Harry Belafonte.
Back around the time you were 14 my roommate's brother and family came to visit from Mexico. His five year old son didn't speak any English, but I dug out some Belafonte records and we had so much fun dancing around. By the time he left he knew a lot of English through the records - especially "Mama Look'a Boo-Boo", which I kind of felt sorry for his dad. lol

I have every album that he recorded plus all his singles. Was able to recognize every song by the opening chords( save those that opened with Harry Belafonte singing.) . Not a tribute to me , a tribute to the impression his music left on me.

Significant but far from complete.He kept recording until 1997 plus “ Long Road To Freedom “ in 2001 , archived and unreleased records from decades earlier. This is truly a snapshot of his musical career . However , his voice was at its best in the fifties and this collection is a magnificent contribution to his body of work but far , far from complete. I suggest another eight hours in order to capture all that he recorded - 535 songs . Thank you You Tube. Please, issue more.
