I would better go to Carrera 1887, Than the most of the chronographs up to £4200. Beautiful watch with excellent movement. Shame for people who blame The TAG to cooperate with the Seiko. Now The Grand Seiko make ones of the best movements. Even Philippe Dufour mention them calibers resantly as one of the most interesting. The TAG Huer in calibre 1887 added of famous Swiss quality of finishing plus column wheel and couple of more impruvements. Its a truly beautiful and reliable watches!
I think the controversy wasn't so much that a Seiko design was being used but rather the initial attempt to hide it by claiming they designed it from scratch in house. This soured "enthusiast" perception, and led to a poor view of the movement. It kind of went too far as the commonly held belief that the movement is a modified 6S78, rather than a 6S78 based design that's made in Switzerland in Tag/LVMH factories. The Heuer 01 also has notably less movement finishing than the 1887 - as its been "demoted" once Tag began production on the 02. Also in no world is the 1887/Heuer 01 an "Improvement" on the Japanese made 6S78. Its modified and different, but if anything the 6S78 is significantly superior. The 6S78 isn't just any Seiko chronograph movement. In its time (i.e. before the switch to spring drive chronos) it was their top of the line chronograph movement and was most extensively in Credor watches - which sit comfortably above Grand Seiko. As a 1887 owner, I would much rather have a 6S78 Credor than a Tag 1887 or Heuer 01 (or 02 for that matter).
I own the royal blue one with the blue rubber strap and it is definitely one of my favorite timepieces. The way you speak in these videos and your descriptions of the moving parts gets me pumped and growling like Tim Allen in "Home Improvement" about watches. New subsciber
They should of called this Optimus Prime. Stunning watch

Welcome!
Just picked up this watch last week what a gorgeous watch so comfy and it just stands out!
How much ??
I'm about to buy the black bezel version, with braclete for 3500 aud, couple wear scratches on the bracelet that will polish out easy
Love the watch but more so when you done the night shot of the watch wish people did this on every review
Beautiful watch! Great review
Do you guys know why is discontinued ? I love it
Good strap actually, wearable in water
Thor wears one. TAG is huge down under.
Love that strap. As JCB would say, 'It's FUSION!'
i need this watch i could stare at it all day lol
Wish the 02T had a date complication like this one, and a glossy ceramic bezel.
with 16.5cm spicy neck, is it reasonable?
what's the strap lug to lug size?
For similar price, might as well get Omega Seamaster 2018.
Seamaster is a diver. Also i like the pre 2018 model. The new one is meh! Whereas, the tag looks cool and different.
@@lavykhurana To each to his own bruhh. Omega have Aqua Terra if don't want diver. 😁
The vertical clutch is in the 02, not the 01...
Hi, whats your wrist size? Thank you!
16 centimeters or 6.3 inches.
@@the1916companywatchreviews Thanks a lot! Have a nice weekend.
Is it not a rocking pinion chronograph engagement? didn't think there is a vertical clutch... That's the Heuer 02
Does this have a vertical clutch?
Vertical clutch will only be on subdials 3 6 and 9
Seemingly! 4:24
No vertical clutch…that came with the 02 movement
I love the play by play but was I the only one out of breath after listening to this..?
You shouldn't leave you're centre seconds running, it'll wear it out the vibrations
Correct, stop the chronograph
Pretty blue, bit its a Tag. Thanx Tim! 👍👍👍 Who's getting lunch?
🆒🆒🆒
Pls STOP using "Flapping in the wind" reference. It's getting old.
Sensative are we?
That strap is ugly
SO IS YA MA
Tag is Dead, why?
It is?
Tag Formula 1 is dead. It doesn't have the same Visual Brand. Tag is still kicking it. I would have my choice at an Oris or the new Omegas.
@@SimplyKnownAsTron that's a bit of a late response lol Ps, Tag have thier niche in the market just above oris but Oris has court up.
