If you are searching for freestyle Skiis that have good value I would recommend the Völkl revolt line. Love your Videos Elliot I appreciate that you are honest unlike the majority of the ski UA-cam scene which is sponsored.
DOOOOOD! So I had my Hestra henrik windstedt mitts in the oven (turned off) at 150* with snow seal on. I told my wife they were in there for another 15’ or if she needed the oven to take them out first. She forgot and torched them. Ce la vie. No more Hestra’s. I ordered the Hestra free ride czone mitt on EVO as a replacement and now I’m worried that is a bad choice as people say they don’t breathe. I ski at mission ridge so I wanted a water resistant lining but I’d like your opinion.
I love the videos. I live in Utah and currently have a qst 98. I was curious if a qst 106 would be worth adding to the quiver as I have heard they ski very differently. If not the qst 106 what are some other recommendations for deeper powder days in Utah?
Kind of a complex question to answer in comments so I decided to address it in my next video fully, so keep an eye out! will go up either today or tomorrow.
Will be very curious to hear what you think! I also went from the 2018 Vantage 90ti to the Maverick 88ti and was very pleased, but maybe your mileage will vary?
@RicketySkiReviews I've been looking forward to opening day. Our mileage will likely vary, I'm in S.Ontario so hills not mountains but I plan to ski every day. Maybe a couple trips to Quebec.
@RicketySkiReviews Today was the fourth day on the Mavs, first bluebird day with good snow, I needed a good day to get a feel for the skis. I'm really happy with them, they ski like the Vantage but feel like you can push them harder, and seem to have a little more pop exiting turns. Apples to oranges to compare them to 9 year old skis but justifies the update. Cheers.
Some other ideas. The Nordica steadfast 85 appears quite competitive for the price. Another one I loved when I demoed it last year was the Dynastar M-cross 88, I instantly clicked with them. The new Rossi Arcade 84 was pretty good too and the price dropped compared to the experience line it's replacing. Rossignol (and Dynastar) are quite popular over here in Quebec and there was so many demo days to try them.
Peak ski has a sale. The first addition skis are $250 with free shipping. First addition skis are the same ski just have different top sheet graphics (accept the 88)
Always Best Bang for your Buck: A 2 year old ski with chewed up topsheet but MINTY bases. Mount up, couple passes with an edge sharpener, how can you go wrong.
I would only add that, at least for a frontside groomer ski, getting last year's gently used demo with a demo binding from a private seller can be excellent value. No need to remount, the extra stand height lets you "cheat" a little with the high edge angles, the extra weight of the binding can help for the groomers, and don't pay sales tax and can negotiate better.
Yeah totally, even if its a different ski it should track any purchase as long as there aren't ad blockers running: www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=pl&ti=7417&pw=372417&mi=19201&pt=3&pri=12890
Honestly for me personally, I would probably be going with a stockli storm rider, Volkl Mantra 88, or my Maverick 88tis. My first go at reviewing skis was written form and the demo day was at Loon NH, and my top picks back in like 2016 were the Stormriders and Atomic Vantages.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my US Viewers, hope you guys have a great day. Check out my merch at: www.Ricketyskireviews.com

I bought Maverick 88 ti's this year. Last years model, 40% off. Replacing my Vantage 90's as daily drivers. Opening day tomorrow.

Thank you for the information. Will you review the 2025 Rossignol Sender Soul 102 this season? I want to see your genuine review for them.

Do you have an affiliate link for Utah skis? I’m thinking about ordering the elan playmaker’s tomorrow.
