hey Elliot! Bought a Mav88 on your recc (no demos in the places I go) and had three days of it including my first pow (JAPOW) day! The mav is fun, gives a bit of float, and I feel like its an extension of me from the get go. Unfortunately dislocated a shoulder on day 3 but hope to be back soon! Thanks for all the work you do and keep up the awesome videos and can’t wait to watch more ski reviews even though I can’t buy more skis 😂
Hey Elliot! Great video as always. Since you find feedbacks from viewers helpful and reassuring, I also happen to LOOVE~ my Maverick 88 Ti. I bought mine this summer after watching a lot of your videos with high praise, and the Maverick became my daily driver now (from Rossi BlackOps 98), skiing at Banff (Lake Louise and Sunshine). Banff opened up since early November, and Ive been having a lot of great times already with the Maverick. Banff is in Alberta, Canada, West of Calgary. Its near the west coast, not the east FYI... I still remember Elliot 😆. I also bought a pair of Booster Straps when buying new boots because of your reviews. Wow! Another great recommendation, and I couldnt be happier. I wouldnt have even known about them if you hadnt mentioned it. I am now thinking of getting another pair for my other ski boots. Thx again, Elliot! One thing though. I was wondering what your mounting point was for your Maverick 88's binding? I think my local ski shop mounted mine in factory setting, kinda on the middle of the ski, but I very occasionally seem to get a bit of a nuisance (I feel its a bit too long sometimes) on the tail end of the ski. Wondering if Im just being an inadequate skier or if I should remount my bindings a little back. I mostly focus on groomers, practicing my carving, and occasionally trying out areas with more powders. I also dont do any parks, jumps, or any of those fancy stunts. Keep up with the great work and I cant wait to watch more of your aweome videos!! Mike
1st question: Best bets are Arcade 88, Mantra M7 and Kore 93. All will satisfy the racer in you and give you some off trail versatility. Titan's not as good as used to be, Stance is long radius and kind of boring for a carver, Wingman is too wimpy and on trail oriented. 2nd question (do it all ski for West): You are looking for a Rustler 10.
something came up and you were kind of talking about it.. generally the more damp the ski is the more heavier the ski is.. if the skis are wider and longer they generally take a lot more work.. so the sacrifice of having a heavier damp ski is that you get worn out quicker..
Hi Elliot.... Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!!! If you don't mind I will like to help you out with the German Guy question... 196cm = 6'-5" and 83Kg=183lb +/-.... he also mentions skiing for "FUN" so you where right to suggest the Black Crows Octo's great fun ski if you like short turning radius and most on trail skiing or "piste" as they call it in Europe. The Volkl 88's another good suggestion, these are my daily drivers, just got a new pair after two seasons with the Kendos. So if you are looking for a fun ski short to medium turn radius and you are mainly skiing on piste in Austria, in my humble opinion, it will be the Stockli Montero AR.... demo these three skis and call me later!!!
Hey Eliot happy holidays.. Im wondering if you could do a more in depth comparison of the blaze 104 and qst 106. I have the qst 92 as my daily in New England.. and pretty much decided on the 106 for my West Coast trips but something u mentioned in the review raised my eyebrows.. I believe you said u much preferred the blaze in the trees?? The guys I go out west love the trees and moguls. So I know for sure would be using this ski for that a lot, but I'm a big bowl guy so that's why I was thinking the qst.. but worried it will be cumbersome in the trees and bumps.. any advice would be amazing
Once you get use to an approachable 88, a 100 width is just not enjoyable unless there's a few inches of fresh. I think people are going too wide for resort skiing and 88 seems like that perfect width for 90% of the days on the mountain

Love the shirt. Very high quality. The only problem is I almost always will have a layer over it and won't be able to show it off.
Thank you very very much for helping me on email and on this video! Regards, Kemal

For the first questioner on the video… demo a Black Crows Serpo 93mm underfoot with a 20m radius
