I finally found a man that had the simplest way of avoid forced update at least this time is google previous xhubsan updates and download previous version through the app and no computer. Be safe out there. Sincerely William Horsley
This is interesting to me, because you can see the iterative upgrades they obviously had to make knowing that some of the parts that they had originally incorporated were of lesser quality than they thought. It’s just a shame for original Zeno owners that they had to kind of be the guinea pigs. Though, it wasn’t intentional by Hubsan. It was more trial and error with the vendors they used to get the parts they needed that would last the lifetime of the drone. As you said, Zino 2 Will improve upon everything more. Which is an incredible thing, because it shows that Hubsan is really striving to be the best they can be and make the best drones that they can.
Yes and when they step into this part of the arena they kinda have to get it together because they aren't competing with toys anymore. I'm very excited to see what the Z-2 will bring.
QC GUY yep. The cool thing is, they aren’t only competing they are looking to dethrone. The fact that the new drone will fly, what they say, is almost 4 1/2 miles with video transmission… Is incredible. Not to mention the camera which looks to be better than any other hobby grade drones camera on the market. To get this kind of performance you have to go with Go-Pro. Which is what excites me about the removable camera. They could use that to allow Zino 2 owners to upgrade. Will they? That’s questionable... but, it doesn’t stop third-party vendors from making their own or the hobbyists themselves figuring something out. Let’s face it, I doubt the controller in the drone knows what kind of camera is attached. Which means, you just remove the camera from the gimbal and put any other kind of camera you want that will fit. Not that you would need to, because we are already talking 4K/60 with HDR. Though, if somebody wanted to go with a camera that had a 1 inch sensor for better low light performance, they probably could as long as that camera would fit in the confines of the gimbal itself, given it didn’t require more power. The exciting thing about the Zino 2, is the upgrades, but more so what the implementation of the accessories port and removable camera means for the future of the product. It could just mean nothing as far as the cameras concerned... but you know as well as I do, if there is a will there is away. Meaning that the hobbyists themselves may figure out that way and make the drone even better. The more of these they get bought, the more popular the Hubsan brand becomes, the more third parties will start making accessories. Which only means this product is going to improve more and more as time goes on. That is, given enough people start buying them. But at the price and with the features it has, there is nothing that matches it that doesn’t cost $700 or more.

Not all sound the same because they used 2 different types of ESC’s in the zino and then again in the zino pro. Hope that helps and sorry for the late reply.
When you first started this take down you removed two stick-on covers that you mentioned were themselves covered with black vinyl. Unless you were going to remove the legs as well, was it really necessary to have removed those two stick-on covers? It looked like all they did was cover the threaded end of the screw-slot that held the screws that secured the front end of the top cover. I'm glad you did take those stick-on covers off just to see what was underneath but was it really necessary unless you planned on removing the front legs as well? Thanks; this was informative.
Have you performed tests with swapping modules between zino and zino pro? For example camera, gimbal, etc. If you have spare part you can connect the zino motherboard to zino pro ?
Zofia Derak No and I considered looking into it when the pro was announced but now seeing the differences it’s not worth it till we figure out what parts are interchangeable.
Chris Great Channel and I have you to thank for shelling out the $399 ;) I have a suggestion for a video. As Ive placed my pre order for a zino2. I would like to take advantage of the original zino prices $(239). I would buy a original zino as my first drone to learn on waiting for the zino 2 to show up. So if I crashed it badly needing $$$$. How hard would it be to upgrade the original zino to a pro? I see that there are now 5000ma batteries out there for about $65. Just an idea dont mean to have any body go off the rails just saying??
clint meyer I am dabbling at the idea to convert one but need to test some of the electronics. I don’t see this being very practical or effective with lack of main boards for the pro. The amount of people that would do this conversion able would be limited interest and parts.
@@QCGUY Thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work! Im sure you are helping Hubsan out. I hope they will reward you in some way. Are mainboards available from Hubsan? I know you stated in a early vid that the zino would be. I take it the Pro is not. If they are what is the cost? Im also guessing you need to pair gimbal with the mainboard. Thanks again
clint meyer Parts for the pro are limited in the beginning and main boards are the hardest to come by. In buying cameras yes you want to match the hardware up by suppling the serial number. You would have to contact Hubsan directly for price and availability.
copper is thermally conductive and those copper adhesive patches (16:44) only bridge the thermal shields, you probably find other conductive rubbers patches under there...just guessing
3dvorator Probably will but I checked some other boards I have where they are used and none cover as a bridge. The cover the entire component. I understand where you’re going with this but it doesn’t seem effective this way.
Man, I’d be so nervous taking that thing apart. You definitely have to have hands that act with surgical precision. Kudos to you for that. I wonder if the warranty becomes void once you remove the first screw? Haha. That’s pretty awesome to see the inner guts on a Zino Pro like this. Thanks for sharing.
QC GUY By the way, I have the opportunity to buy a Husban Zino second hand in new condition but the only thing is that the current owner says that he did a firmware update to it and not it doesn’t connect to GPS. Hello Friend! Thanks for the answer. The box is where the engine, the gimbal and the arms go. My drone fell, broke an arm, damaged the gimbal and broke a piece of the plastic box where the gimbal is. I'll try to fix it. I would be grateful if you would post a video where you exchange every box for another. I'll see if I can post the photos. I'm sorry, I'm using a translator
Hello, I have a problem with my Zino Pro, I am from Argentina and there is no specialized technical service here. The remote detects the drone but when I try to connect it, "leas connection made" appears. I don't know what to do help!
I'm getting gimbal error 0X2000. I looked around without taking anything apart and I think the ribbon cable is broken. Now I wanna take the gimbal and ribbon off. Do I have to remove the main board too? I searched and couldn't find any videos on the gimbal removal of the zino pro.
I have the Zino Pro, and been flying it some months now, but just yesterday the video feed from drone to transmitter went out. I can still fly the drone, but not receive any video or take photos from gimbal. The gimbal still works, and the drone flies well, but i can't see it on the phone using app and transmitter. Any suggestions? I have tried a full reboot, full app reboot, and changing every setting i can on app
Joseph Myers Here’s a good time to recommend my group. It’s best to show some video of the problem and easier to resolve that way. facebook.com/groups/HubsanQC/?ref=share
QC GUY I don't have or use Facebook since 2015. Is there any other way I can communicate with them? I'd rather not go back to Facebook. Also, I can take a small video of what the boot up procedure looks like and how it all just ends in a grey screen with the app and transmitter.
Hi QC GUY. Can you recommend a better charger for my hubsan zino pro, the battery that came with it had all green lights on hubsan charger after charging it but 5 minutes in to flight and total power failure. I don't think battery charger had anything to do with low volt in cell failure. Thank Goodness I was less then 5 feet above thick Bermuda grass. I understand that it's a battery safety kill switch or something that responds to weak cell in battery if I understood that correctly . Do you recomend 4200 gifi lipo or the buttcheeck 5000mah as better alternatives? Sincerely William Horsley

Hi.. I have just noticed that. I am not sure we will ever need that distance due to the battery limitations. They also changed the shipping date from 1Jan. to 17Jan. As Chris predicted, another delay, as long as we get a better product in the end, I am fine with that.
@@lixochui Yes i agree, the battery can't stand this long, we have to wait for a review, my order for zino 2 has not started shipping yet, maybe only on January 17th

Can you please help me? First two times when i fly with Zino Pro it was very good, like really good. But now i can not anymore fly normal. Because when i try calibrate compass it shows - the compass readings are abnormal; please move the aircraft... i tryed several places where nothing should interfere. And some times it shows Ready to fly but when i takke off it just starts circling and it is difficult to control. I am desperate, don't know what to do...
Yours is Wifi and pro is leas... Zino Pro gimbal has different boards in it, it also has a repeater and exhaust fan plus the ESC’s are different so you may have a issue between the zino pro board and the power supply board.
.... i would use something plastic VS a small screwdriver pointing and poking on sensitive boards... may have stray voltage in one of the boards there or static on you..... just being nit picky and old school on electronics safety.
pogito I get it and your right but call it over confidence I guess. I repair all Zino models for people and so far over a hundred easy with no such issues or faults of mine for the above mentioned. Not cocky but I fix these better than Hubsan delivers them new.

Not all sound the same because they used 2 different types of ESC’s in the zino and then again in the zino pro. Hope that helps and sorry for the late reply.
Thank you Chris, keep up the good work. Good health
thank you very much and greetings from Russia
Always as interesting! We learn a lot! Pleasant surprise! Hubsan arrives among the "best"! Thank you !
You have to in order to get the cover off. They must come off to remove the screws.
@@QCGUY Have you done a review on photo quality? I just got a PRO and the photos aren't that great, somewhat blotchy in fact
@@divergentaussie4336 There is need for a update there yet.
What was that cable at 16min and 15 seconds called? The one that connects the power module to the main board? Thanks!!
Go to Hubsan’s parts section and you will see the proper names and the part numbers for them. 👍🏻
@@QCGUY thanks!!
I think the two lighter gauge wires to each ESC carry the signal from the main controller, rather than being for the LED.
Charles Toast Possibly.... I haven’t tested them each to say for sure.
copper is thermally conductive and those copper adhesive patches (16:44) only bridge the thermal shields, you probably find other conductive rubbers patches under there...just guessing
Drone Syndrome It will void the warranty but I never use warranties on these china born drones. Not worth the trouble. 👍
Thanks 😊
QC GUY True that.
QC GUY By the way, I have the opportunity to buy a Husban Zino second hand in new condition but the only thing is that the current owner says that he did a firmware update to it and not it doesn’t connect to GPS. Basically, he says that the drone turns on but he can’t fire up the motors and he gets an error message that it can’t connect to aircraft. Any advice on how to fix this or recommendation dation videos? Thanks.
Drone Syndrome I know who’s this is and I don’t know what went wrong but nothing I offered fixed the issues for him.
I dad one similar and it needed a new board.
QC GUY Gotcha. However, I doubt it’s the same person. I mean, there must be several people out there that have had this issue, no? Anyway, I appreciate your time and support in trying to help the community.
Hello, is it possible to use the main board of zino pro into zino and get the 4km range? Will the controller work properly? Thank you in advance.
No there are other things to factor but mainly two different signals with one being wifi and the other being leas. Thanks
Thank for your video. I was able to solve a small problem.
hello from what the green and yellow indicator can blink. Hubsan Zino Pro

Quick question bro are you meant to oil these motors after a year?
There’s no need...
Some do but the oil just allows dirt and dust to stick.
They are sealed bearings. 👍🏻
Nice comparison between the two models. I hope the new Zino 2 has more beneficial improvements. Thumbs Up
Hello sir love the videos very informative. So I have the Zino Pro and my remote controller won't charge? I seen the videos where u did the bridge for the Zino with the rolled up aluminum foil. But the Zino pro controller is different it don't have the pins that I can see. It has pins on the right side if your holding the controller. Idk if you could give me some advice or something. Thanks again

Hello , My zino pro aircraft wont show in transmission niether it connects . Front lights blink blue while red are static. I tried everything i could but not working what do you suggest and possible problems . Thanks
Hello! Could you teach me how to change the Zino black box, because mine fell and broke the box and an arm?
Sergio Bandido by black box do you mean the arm joint? Post it in my group with pictures.
facebook.com/groups/HubsanQC/?ref=share
Hello Friend! Thanks for the answer. The box is where the engine, the gimbal and the arms go. My drone fell, broke an arm, damaged the gimbal and broke a piece of the plastic box where the gimbal is. I'll try to fix it. I would be grateful if you would post a video where you exchange every box for another. I'll see if I can post the photos. I'm sorry, I'm using a translator
Hi Chris,
The Wi-Fi bord have a place where you can put a antenna, pls?

I'm getting gimbal error 0X2000. I looked around without taking anything apart and I think the ribbon cable is broken. Now I wanna take the gimbal and ribbon off. Do I have to remove the main board too? I searched and couldn't find any videos on the gimbal removal of the zino pro.
KjSNOW 413 I have different take apart videos. It’s the same as the original Zino and you don’t have to remove the board.
The only ESC I have done was on the DJI SPARK it was only 20 bucks on ebay it was kind of a pain in the ass but it's been flying for awhile now
mgflyer I have done a good bit on the Zino’s and they are fun either.

QC GUY I don't have or use Facebook since 2015. Is there any other way I can communicate with them? I'd rather not go back to Facebook. Also, I can take a small video of what the boot up procedure looks like and how it all just ends in a grey screen with the app and transmitter.

How about remote control transmitter for Zino Pro
It’s very rare that you would need to take it apart but it’s easy enough that anyone can do it. Nothing exciting to see there…
William Horsley The imax B6 V2 charger and the 4200mAh has proven to be a good battery as we.
Okay. Thank you
Hello, pls, i have hubsan ZINO Pro and i cant found video, where is replace only gimbal...

Hi Chris, very educative video and interesting, did you notice for Zino 2 that the transmission distance has been changed from 6km to 8km
Hi.. I have just noticed that. I am not sure we will ever need that distance due to the battery limitations. They also changed the shipping date from 1Jan. to 17Jan. As Chris predicted, another delay, as long as we get a better product in the end, I am fine with that.
@@lixochui
Yes i agree, the battery can't stand this long, we have to wait for a review, my order for zino 2 has not started shipping yet, maybe only on January 17th
Bozidar Vladovic They never actually said the quads distance in the beginning. They just said the controller transmission range. I found that odd.
Eugénio Ramos Yes the date got delayed and people are saying the middle of the month but this isn’t confirmed by Hubsan. They won’t give me a date now so fingers crossed it’s not long. Definitely will be happy waiting for progress though.
Are the zino and zino pro stock batteries interchangeable?
BUILDINGJMPR67 yes
Can you please help me? First two times when i fly with Zino Pro it was very good, like really good. But now i can not anymore fly normal.
Because when i try calibrate compass it shows - the compass readings are abnormal; please move the aircraft... i tryed several places where nothing should interfere.
And some times it shows Ready to fly but when i takke off it just starts circling and it is difficult to control. I am desperate, don't know what to do...
Oxinn Sounds like a bad compass module.
Can such a thermally conductive tape be used Thermopad 100x15x1,5mm 6W/mK ?
If it's what I am thinking yes but how about a link?
Excellent video, well done sir, thank you so much.
Hello Chris,
I habe h117s, when i buy Mainboard from Zino Pro, can i install it in the h117s?
Yours is Wifi and pro is leas...
Zino Pro gimbal has different boards in it, it also has a repeater and exhaust fan plus the ESC’s are different so you may have a issue between the zino pro board and the power supply board.
@@QCGUY do you have Email?
@@mladenknezevic3394 qcguy.chris@gmail.com
.... i would use something plastic VS a small screwdriver pointing and poking on sensitive boards... may have stray voltage in one of the boards there or static on you..... just being nit picky and old school on electronics safety.
pogito I get it and your right but call it over confidence I guess. I repair all Zino models for people and so far over a hundred easy with no such issues or faults of mine for the above mentioned.
Not cocky but I fix these better than Hubsan delivers them new.
@@QCGUY totally believe you. not just talking about drone repairs but most 3rd party repair people are way better than OEM repair guys. they are more exposed and free from red tape processes. i work for an OEM company and I've met A LOT of 3rd partys and dealers with overwhelming knowledge and tricks that we are not allowed to do. The copper tape might be grounding for those plates just a guess.
maybe the anttenna is printed on the board somewhere.

No wonder, zino is heavy: all those metal stuffs. Drone Technologies now are still young: all those chips can be customized for drones and less chips and less metal cases. US still have a chance to do catch-up in this industry. Like Trump said make in USA drones.
