There were several nasty crashes in the last kms because of the rain, hope all the riders are ok, especially Van Agt, who crashed in the descent and slipped underneath the guardrail

Bout time. Lianne Lippert lived up to her potential and finally won a race. She was the strongest rider at the worlds last year, and I'm sure there will be more victories to come for the german machine. I can't believe she dusted Kopecky in that sprint. Impressive.
Movistar and SD Worx are well placed with their two top riders in the top 10. Van Vleuten and Lippert vs Vollering and Kopecky is gonna be 🔥 They all look like they are firing. Marlen Ruesser may be the key, but when has being outnumbered worried Annemiek. She'll take them all on.
Bit of a worry when her and Annemiek crashed. The GOAT needs to remain on her bike at all times if she's gonna win this.
Could Lotte Kopecky challenge for the final podium ? One minute is a decent lead for only two races. I wonder if she's been working on her long climbing game.

No way is 1 minute enough for Kopecky with the Aspin-Tourmalet combo on Saturday and the time trial on Sunday. Even 5 minutes would be borderline.
It's still van Vleuten v Vollering for the GC. These first couple of stages haven't changed anything.

@@andrasszabo1570 I figure as much but could she possibly still make the podium ?

@@JaemanEdwards I"d be absolutely amazed. That would be like Mathieu van der Poel making the podium of the Tour de France.
Doesn't matter whether she leads by 50 seconds or 1 minute, it doesn't make her a different level climber than what she has shown so far in her career.

@@andrasszabo1570 I remember seeing Annemiek Van Vleuten for the first time at the Rio Olympics. The commentators were talking up Van der breggen and others but barely mentioned Annemiek, let alone think she was one of the favourites. The reason ? Annemiek had not previously shown she was a pure climber. She rebuilt herself into a climber. Who's to say whether Kopecky could do something similar ? She is no slouch in the shorter climbs. If she could limit the damage in the long climbs and maybe another breakaway win with a decent margin who knows.
