- The Lew's Mach Hatchpack Backpack may be one of the best fishing packs on the market. It is clearly designed by fishermen for fishermen. It may have some of the best pockets of any bag I have reviewed. So many of these packs have pockets that are just too small. This one thinks of almost everything and it looks really cool.

Iv been using mine for about 6-9 months and i have zero complaints has held up amazing and has bunch of room and it’s comfy on chunky folks like me lol I’d recommend for sure
Just got this bag. I did notice that if you fill the main inside compartment with 3700 boxes, you will lose about 1/2 of the depth of the top lid pocket. If all of your gear is in 3600s already, you can fit 6 of them vertically and 2-3 lying down on top of those in the main compartment (again, you'll lose some space in the top lid pocket). Fun fact, you can fit up to 9 3600s up to the top of the main compartment horizontally, although it's definitely a tight squeeze on the bottom and may cause issues over time. What I also like is that the webbed pockets on the side zippered pockets have some give, even when the same zippered pocket is filled up. Sometimes those webbed pockets are too stiff to use when the zippered compartment is full. And I don't immediately notice any defects in stitching on my bag. I was originally looking at the more generic bag types with 4 3600s horizontally on the bottom and a large space up top (like the EGO Kryptek backpack), but I found that this form factor meets my needs much better. I used to use this bag. It's seemed great at first. The thing that I didn't like the most. Was the fit. It wasn't comfortable at all. The straps didn't have enough padding and would cut into my shoulder. And carrying it just half loaded. Weighted me back. So when walking I would have to lean forward.

You can also use that line grommet to run a pair of headphones through and listen to music while you are fishing!

This backpack looks allot like Flambeau pro angler blue 🧐 5-5007 and thin 3-4007 or two madres how thick or brand of boxes and line spoil despiser. Is it worth the extra money. Can you look into the difference. Or is Flambeau makes Lew's bags. Even the zipper is the same thing.

That is a difficult question to answer. It really depends on what you are looking for. Since I mostly fish from a boat or kayak, I really only use my tackle bags for trips to Canada and for fishing tournaments as a co-angler. In my travels I have learned to pare down tackle due to weight restrictions on airplanes and limited space in other people's boats, so I prefer smaller bags that hold the 3600 size boxes. I would not select this bag for that reason. Currently my favorite is still an older Flambeau bag called the AZ6. I have a video on that one if you want to check it out, but I like the older bag that has been replaced by a newer one with less features. If I were going to buy a new bag it would be the Ego Systems Tackle Bags. If I were going to purchase a larger 3700 series bag, I like the Flambeau 5007 Tackle Backpack. I have videos on my channel of all these bags. Hope that helps.

Would that front pocket fit a 3600, or even a 3700?
Not sure. I do not have the bag currently to verify that.
Just bought this bag. Typical 3600 box is 11 inches tall. That front pocket is only 10 and 3/4 inches tall. Seems like poor planning from lews. The water proof 3600 boxes with rounded edges just barely zips in there.
No rod holders, thats a big no for me.
There are some pretty good packs out there with rod holders, but this isn't one of them. Thanks for watching.
I just don't understand why they don't put rod holders on these backpack tackle bags. I looked and looked. I settled for the piscifun over the shoulder which packs a lot of gear and has at least one rod holder.

Liquid products that you dip your soft plastics in that add color or scent to the baits. Dip n glow from Spike It is one. Another is JJ’s Magic.
