Chris Spielman is flat out a football junkie. He was the leader of that Lions defense for eight seasons, and played at an All-Pro level in Detroit multiple years. He knows the team because he did their games on TV, he was doing the "3 and Out" segment on the Lions website. He knows the players, the city, and the pulse of Lions fans. Chris has done his homework and is well prepared to work in the Lions front office to help move this franchise in the right direction.
If he's such a football junkie then he's one of us he's a fan so for all us fans you say we could do it better this is your guy if he can do it goods and that means we could if he fails that means we all need to shut the fuck up and and quit with this I can do it I can be a coach I can be an armchair GM
Then you haven't done your full research on Chris Spielman then. What qualifies you in making a comment? You can't even spell his last name right. It's i before e, basic grade school stuff.
Good thing he’s not the coach , he’s advising for Shelia and Rod Wood in football decisions and the guy knows football it’s his whole life!!!! The guy was a NFL player, a current announcer, and his brother is the GM of the Vikings!!!!
Exactly what can Barry or Chris contribute besides advice to a general manager given that neither has any experience building a team that i know of. Great players don't necessarily make good coaches or gm's. Just look at Magic and Jordan. What is it with the "blast from the past" thinking?
Scott the Gator is gonna die young if he doesn't lose a ton of weight. Every time I see him, he reminds me of another fat comedian, Harry Anderson. Gator you obviously are a smart guy and insightful, but isn't the early death of John Candy a clue?
I think you meant Louie Anderson, as Harry Anderson was the comedian and actor who played the judge on Nightcourt. However, Louie Anderson is still living, and is about the same age as Harry Anderson who did pass away, even though he wasn't "fat". Obviously you aren't a smart guy, Bryan.
I would rather Chris and Barry search for the next GM over Rod Wood anyday of the week
Facts!
Spielman is a blast to listen to on the broadcast. Great players and broadcasters don't always translate but I hope he can help find the right person.

Chris is a tremendous hire.
His brother has ensured the Vikings will never be contenders!!,..Good Luck Detroit!
Sad that a rich family cant decide or know how to pick a gm for their franchise.
Pure PR move.
You really think Spielman is gonna leave a job at FOX for a PR move!!!!! Chris Spielman is one of the best Lions player ever
What qualifies Chris Speilman fir the job?
All I see is he coached the Columbus destroyers to a 2-14 season.Sounds like a lion to me.
Do you want only Shelia and Rod Wood doing the search? That’s what got you Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia last time
