Nice comparison, my budget puts me in the titan 5x25x56 would like a bit better but that's what I got also using in airgun and like the 150 moa it brings thanks for video
The Arken EP5 is half the price of the Element Titan and has comparable image quality and has superior turrets. Element Titan 5-25x56 only has 90 MOAs of total elevation travel and not 150 MOAs and the Arken EP5 5-25x56 has 110 MOAs of total elevation travel.
Nice and helpful video, thanks for taking the time to do this comparison. I thought there was more blue fringing (CA) on the Cronos at high power than the other two which is surprising, or was that an artifact of filming?
it had to something with the coating. the camera position was not optimal.. but it seems that the more expansive the glass the more time it takes to get a good distance for the camera to get a good video.(eye relief) ..... the funny thing is that the Tract has ALOT of blue going on in a video I took just messing around. it really only shows up on the highest power. I may need to get a different camera.. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for your demeanor and allowing most of us to see what we otherwise could not. I think I would have been helped a bit better if the distance and parallax movements were reduced or controlled more at times, especially with the Titan. Things seemed to have settled down (mostly) with the Ares and then the Cronus. At times it was hard for me to get a 'fix' on things because you moved in or out too quickly. Even with stopping the video numerous times this was so. Following things became a task. Also, had you given the viewer the magnification ranges (x10, 12, 20, etc.) you were on with each scope, and repeated movements exactly, it would have enabled an 'apples to apples' comparison. Take care.
thanks. for the insight. this is one of my older videos and I have purchased better equipment as of now. As you may know a video, or a phone camera does not do ANY glass justice, so these types of videos are for redicle reference only. Using them for glass comparison is a fool's journey and will be met with disappointment. The best way to look at a scope is in person. The old saying (buy once and cry once) is still the case in ANY purchase. thanks again for the input and have a Merry Christmas.
Me too.. I have had a few months with the Tract now and it continues to impress. The Athlon BTR is one of those scopes that is hard to explain how good it feels and looks. It reminds me of the older high end Leupold stuff.. Very high quality in its build and coatings. thanks for watching
I think your right on clarity. I've been tossing between the ARES and BTR... For a guy that's got a budget and can could use the 400 elsewhere it's hard to choose... You said both track great??
For the money the ETR is VERY hard to beat.. We just received the Cronos BTR Gen2 and this was my first time filming through it.. If you notice the colors on the fence post are green and gray.. very easy to tell that through both Athlons.. The turrets are better on the glass and the turrets are an up grade on the BTR but not it all depends on budget.. For me on a budget it would be the Ares ETR all day.. Thanks for watching..
The Ares BTR G2 is another worthwhile excellent quality option especially when they go on sale for less than $600 when you shop around for the best deals online. I have several of these and prefer their lighter weight and have been reliable so far with perfect tracking and fantastic image quality. I have a Cronus BTR also and the cheaper Ares BTR Gen 2 for under $600 is more than clear enough.
I bet lots of people including myself are eagerly awaiting you to compare the tract toric 4.5-30x56 to the Athlon cronus 4.5-29x56 gen 2! I just subscribed. I am particularly interested in the eyebox, usability at low magnification and high magnification, and brightness of the illuminated reticle between the two.
@@kellyhohmann2294 Yes sir..I will include the illumination in my next video. I think this head to head will be VERY interesting for sure.. Thanks for watching.
How much better is the glass on the BTR then the ETR? I’ve been planning to get one for my 338 Lappula and I’m really curious if the BTR is worth the extra money for a long range you seem to be the most honest guy on UA-cam so I’d really appreciate your opinion thank you

Hi Mike, the Athlon ETR reticle almost disappears when you magnification is pulled back to 4.5. With a wider range of magnification and FFP, the thickness of the reticle gets either too thick at full magnification or too thin. Additionally, aren’t the two other scopes in a higher cost brackets than the Titan? It might explain the lens coatings being superior especially the BTR 😆, but I did find the BTR is a bit more blurry at full mag on the edges vs the other 2. However, 3 scopes, best in their price brackets, great comparison! Nice new camera! 😃
I think recital is a matter of opinion as far as what works for what.. I prefer a thinner ret because of what I do as a hobby. Now that being said the Titan does have a heavier ret. but not too heavy. This is one thing I love about the Element scope line.. On the other hand the Athlon scopes my be a little more expensive but they have a great ret too.. The balance really is up to the buyer and their preference. For ME.. I know that the 2 Athlons picked up more detail than the Titan. if you look close at the video you will see a stack of leaves in the middle of the drive. That drive looked washed out and I knew it did. So I put something in it to see the scopes would pick it up. Only 1 scope did and that was the BTR.. The ETR was close but the Titan did not at all. Now my new camera is another story. the better the glass you put in front of it the more it tries to focus through it. it is VERY hard to get both the ret and the back ground in focus at the same time. All in all... I am still learning and trying to get better at this. Some day I will figure it out. But from the video the blurry edges are caused by the camera and not the scope. Thanks for watching bud.. Hope all is well..

The Ares ETR sure shows that China has come a long way. I really think it's the best Chinese made scope that money can buy followed by the Burris Signature HD and Ares BTR and Midas Tac.
I ended up picking up a ares etr because of your videos. The brightness and clarity is nuts irl.

Thanks for the honest reviews! The Element Titan sure looks like the image through my Athlon Argos.
Second one looked the best to me
Very nice scope cam comparison.
I think the best all around image was the ETR. The Cronos looked slightly clearer but the color was off...less contrast when compared to the ETR.
