"Samuel was a worshipper" - yes......so good, especially the last minute! How amazing is the grace and love of God, ever willing to bring us back in after we continually stray, thinking we know best. May we ever cling to His presence alone, because it is the most awesome place to be!
I love the image of God as our Shepherd, leading the straying sheep back to the fold with a loving hand. So grateful for His patience with us, and His desire to have us close! (And sidenote: I just love "conversing" with you on UA-cam, my blog sister....especially since blogging hasn't been a thing for me in quite some time. :))
I love it, too, Sis! :) Yeah, those were the "good old days" on the blog! LOL, but hey, there's always text! And this is a powerful platform. Love you!
Thank you Kim!!! Again! Life changing! :) I love your studies! I prayed the prayer. And I never picked up that only Hannah and Samuel prayed in the first seven chapters! Awesome insight! Also, I love that Samuel wasn't a priest or a Levite, but God still allowed him to serve him in the temple. It tells me that titles mean nothing only a heart that clings to Him!! Lord, let me always cling! :)
I love your heart for God and am not at all surprised that you prayed that prayer. :)) And now joining in your prayer...."Lord, let me always cling!"....AMEN! Blessings to you, sis!
Good evening Sis. Jaimie Blake. Samuel and his descendants were indeed Levites descendants of Kohath. No one could serve in the temple unless he was a Levite. You may reference 1 Chronicles chapter 6 - at the beginning it gives you the genealogy and towards verse 54 and onward it tells you that some of the children of Kohath received inheritance from the land of Ephraim in the mountains of Ephraim. Also in Joshua 21:5 you may find a reference regarding this allocation of land to some of the Levites. Hope this helps. Our Lord is sovereign and he changes not. Malachi 3:6.
Wonderful teaching, I'm a teacher of God's Word Myself and I just happen to be teaching on 1Samuel chapter 6 on my Conference Line. I teach every Thursday Lady's Bible Study, I'm impressed with your style of teaching 💚
Thank you for sharing the prayer, I want to start praying this one also. Your comment about prayer reminds me of one of my favorite verses Psalm 127:1. It's one of my reminders of the importance of prayer. I love the BUTS in scripture, but God remembered, but God has given me rest, but God is the strength oh my Lord I could go on and on. Hannah had a need that could only be filled by crying out to God, the same with the Israelites, the same with me. It was so much in this chapter, my last comment, in the Message version I like how it paraphrase the end of verse 3: ground yourselves firmly in God, worship Him and Him alone, and He'll save you from Philistine oppression. Or to make it personal He will save me from ________ (fill in the blank) God our God, yes indeed. Verse 3 my cling verse for the week.
I love Psalm 127:1 also...such a reminder of our dependency upon Him! Verse 3 is definitely a verse to hold onto (cling :))....convicting as well as as inspiring. And you KNOW I love the BUTs in scripture. Gets me excited EVERY. TIME. 😊
Absolutely. That's why I devoted an entire chapter to trials and suffering. They draw us to the Lord like nothing else, causing us to cry out and cling.
Laverne, I totally agree. I love God more and cling to Him more through each trial and tragedy in my life. He gives, and HE alone takes away, and He alone can comfort us, even when we don't understand the "whys" of things that happen to us.
Loving this study! Initially, I was taken aback by the Israelites turning back to the Lord in verse 4 BUT still being scared in vv. 7-8. Then I started to wonder if they felt repentance, prayer and fasting weren't enough? Similar to those of us that come to Christ later in life thinking we have committed too many sins for Him to truly love us.... Thanks for pointing out the references to prayer. Truly stunning that we went through Eli, a priest, his sins and more before Samuel prayed. May God continue to bless you as you bless others.
Kiva, I just love your insights as we study. Such a great point, that perhaps they thought those things weren't enough. As one who came to Christ later in life, I know what it is to struggle with past sins and wonder where I *really* stand with God. His grace, love, and forgiveness are so amazing that it can be hard to fathom. Blessings to you as well! Thankful to be on this journey with you.
kimcashtate I was wondering if you could make a video about your thought s on what the bible says about remarriages , I'm married first time, my husband has been married before , he says that he married her to help her become u.s. citizen, however this was long before my time and long before we were Christians, but you have some church members who say we have been living in adultery all these years and its not a valid marriage, bcoz his first wife is still alive and we also have children together , this is so devastating bcoz I want to honor God even if it means divorce, so my sis I'd really like to hear your take on this bcoz you have the beautiful gift of understanding and interpreting scripture very well thank you God bless you :)
Hi Katanya, my heart goes out to you because I know this is very difficult, and yes, I'm aware of the different viewpoints. I get requests to do a lot of different videos, yet my heart is to do ones that the Lord puts on my heart. Right now I'm knee deep in First Samuel till the fall. But I can promise you I will lift you up in prayer for the Lord to give you clarity and heart-direction. Also, can you send a private message with your email address?
Our Victory over the devil, the world and the flesh is found in Our Worship and we cannot truly worship without repenting and turning our hearts to God...Thanks Sis for the reminder.

Was the ark stolen because they were worshipping other gods did GOD allow that to happen so they could truly turn back to him did they feel that the presence of the lord was gone when it was stolen even though they were worshipping other gods was GOD trying to get their attention

I am a faithful worshiper
So was Israel worshiping GOD and other Gods as well
Or was they not worshipping the Most High GOD and worshipping other foreign gods
You have explained the verse so beautifully verse by verse. THANK YOU SO MUCH
If I could give you double thumbs up, I will surely give😀
