Eevee will always be the best starter to me. Having the ability to (in gen 3 when this happened) choose 5 different types all with their own advantages (except Flareon, I’m sorry, it had an attack stat in a game where the physical/special split didn’t happen yet and wasn’t useful for what you’d want in a fire type at the time) was insane.

That last one made me laugh 😂. Honestly I’ve noticed a few things about what a person favorite starter says about them. For example charmander, totodile, treeko, piplup fans like their anime appearances, mudkip fans like the meme, and bulbasaur fans love to brag about how bulbasaur is the best starter for kanto runs

Bulbasaur - slight chance that you think bulbasaur was first.
Charmander - you like lizards and fire.
Squirtle - *mario kart blue shells intensify*
Chikorita - you think that whipping stuff in people's faces is cool.
Cyndaquil - you like to see how an organism learns to open its eyes over time, because it starts off blind, and ends up able to see.
Totodile - you like semi-accurate pokemon fusions (charmander, squirtle).
Treecko - you're probably toxic towards ash ketchum for asking if your favorite starter was a water type. that was over 18 years ago -_-
Torchic - you like chickens and fire.
Mudkip - theres a chance that you chose him for the great defensive typing, a badass full/mega evolution, or because he's cute. (i choose him for great defensive typing)
Turtwig - you like turtles and trees.
Chimchar - same as video but because the person you offended was too sensitive.
Piplup - you like... uhh... penguins...?
Snivy - you like pokemon that look badass even at its unevolved form.
Tepig - you like fire and pigs.
Oshawott - possibly the same as video.
