- Cancer Tablet News: The Tata Institute in Mumbai, a premier cancer research and treatment facility in India, has claimed to have discovered a treatment that can prevent the resurgence of cancer the second time.
The researchers and doctors at the institute worked for 10 years and have now developed a tablet which they claim would prevent the occurrence of cancer for the second time in patients and will also reduce the side effects of treatments like radiation and chemotherapy by 50 per cent.

These are media reports but the exact status can only be known from treating doctors. Apparently this is effective for post surgical cases but not applicable for blood cancers or where operations cannot be done e.g spinal chord or Stage IV C.

The Director of Tata Memorial can be sued under the magical remedies act for this video.
Wearing a white coat and surgical mask, he claims that a 'medicine' developed by his team for Rs. 100 can prevent cancer resurgence and also reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
However, in the same video, he says that it is a food product or neutraceutical.
The press release, however, clearly mentions about cancer prevention and treatment. In fact, in the above video, near the 8:20 time point, he claims that it is a 'medicine.'
Closer scrutiny reveals that the Tata Memorial team is yet to obtain approval and that too from FSSAI, which is clearly NOT a drug regulatory authority!
But not a single journalist felt like questioning the tall claims and demanding evidence based on rigorous clinical trials.
This is exactly what happens when people iconize institutes or its people: they stop asking meaningful questions.
This is just another crap Indian R&D project man, sold out Indian media as usual is creating hype around it and nothing else. The only viable practical treatment for cancer is car-t cell therapy, someone from tata memorial is already working on it alongside IITB but the problem is most of the tech is still imported in India hence the whole cost goes over tens of lacs/patient which should fall in near future as they scale their system and it becomes more affordable at the point of source (US) itself.
