- Congratulations to all who took part in the Allianz Partners Richmond Marathon, CarMax Richmond Half Marathon, and VCU Health Richmond 8k! It was a hot one, but because of the support of our wonderful sponsors, volunteers, and the Richmond community, the 45th running of the Richmond Marathon will be remembered for reasons far beyond the warmer than usual temps. It was a gorgeous day and Richmond continues to shine as America's Friendliest Marathon. Check out the 2022 Race Recap video to see it all for yourself.

This was my first half marathon and I’m so proud of myself for finishing even though I was not able to train. I just found out about the marathon the night before from guests staying in the hotel I was staying in. The only other race I have ever been in was a 3 mile race back in February. If I’m back I’m back in Richmond I will up my challenge to myself and run the full Marathon. Loved it. Thanks Richmond.

@@SportsBackers Thank you so much! If my work keeps me in VA until next November. I will be running again, but this time it will be the Full Marathon. My initial post was before I received my results. I outdid my personal expectations. I was not able to train for the Half-marathon and when I signed up I did not know what my expected time to finish would be because I really do not have a constant pace as I do not train. So I went with a median pace from my running app of 8:45. The expected time was 2:05:00 to finish and I beat that goal. I broke the two hour mark and finished 1:55. I am so proud of that accomplishment.
Congrats to all! It was such a great day in wonderful RVA.
