i’m not sure the exact percentage but everyone i interacted with spoke english! because of covid, there were fewer social gatherings than usual so i didn’t get a good scope of all the international students there but there should def be opportunities to meet people while you’re there! hope this helped :)
As part of the admission process, students are invited to take part in an admission interview for the College. Can you share your interviewing experience?
my interview experience was quite smooth, despite the time zone difference (since the interview is based in HK Time). what they really want to know is how you plan to be engaged in your hall activities while maintaining your academics. i would recommend researching about your preferred hall + seeing what extracurriculars they offer that you’re interested in joining. they also asked me if i had experience living with other ppl before so that might also be good to note. if you’re studying abroad, it might be good to mention that you want to immerse yourself within the full HKU experience by living in a hall among other full-time students to show your enthusiasm! they might ask if you have any questions…use this as an opportunity to express your interest further by asking for more information about certain extracurriculars! hope this helped :)

How many people are there on each floor?
there are 32 rooms on each floor. only the corner rooms are doubles so it’s about 36 people per floor !
