Chinese and Korean versions would be interesting but the are more common versions covered makes sense of course than those 2 versions being probably similar to the Japanese version or EU I assume if the Korean and Chinese versions were the last releases or early like the Japanese release and the others came after even. GT 2001/2002 Concept was Japan/Tokyo and Korea/Seoul naming first then Europe as the final version but that doesn't likely apply to everything of course. Car brands like Vauxhall and Opel are always a thing, Lexus and Altezza usually swap. You get your ESSEN and ESSO branding on cars notably the Toyota GT One but it might also be licensing too maybe at certain titles for certain games I think too maybe not sure for GT4 versions. Music OSTs it can be interesting with more Japanese or US artists I can see why but didn't look enough between to check. Australia being moved in the GT Mode map is interesting for JP version. The names, credit numbers and descriptions (not sure on that I could be forgetting for dealerships, the descriptions are probably elsewhere you do get descriptions for parts though I know that as well as once you buy the car but I forget when browsing the dealerships I'd they appear but seems so in this footage but as AU has the EU version I assume it's the same) aware of for used cars for US didn't know they named Old Timer and such for JP though. The music was still different in versions until GT5P I think. Progressive Scan always seemed to be an NTSC thing so makes sense for US and JP versions didn't realise intro 5.1 output wasn't in the US version though. Or units in JP what units do they use I wonder as their default???? Metric I think I don't know. Languages always make sense in EU versions while US I always wonder if it's English and Spanish but it's usually just English. While whatever the case of South American versions but those don't usually get covered. I like they showed the genres and offered good variety EDM music kind of started for me with GT4 music besides the menus. Throttle and Ready surprised me when I saw the US version years ago now it makes sense. I get why as ready is easier to language convert. I wonder for Cheat codes whether they work across all versions I tried them in my AU/EU copy and I assume many that use Emulators use the US version so I assume it isn't different but who knows.
i'm italian, and i think it's better the ntsc-j because is hardest and completed with the music, and also for the fact that the original version, i play with the manual transmission and more play with 16:9 because it's more comfortable
In Europe and USA, you don't get the Toyota Altezza AS200 and RS200. Instead you can have its two immigrant brothers, the Lexus IS 200 and Lexus IS 200 (J). Unfortunately, that makes the IS 200 unable to compete in Japanese events, because according to the game, Lexus is American. :(
That part I never understood. It was made in Japan it's a Japanese company. Somehow it's American? I understand it made for the American market but that doesn't make sense. @@1985toyotacamry I guess they didn't bother with having an IS300 sedan, because they thought that the IS200 (J) with it's six-speed gearbox and 3S-GE engine was good enough. Gran Turismo always had oddball cars with automatic gearboxes, the IS300, with its five-speed auto would've been a good addition to them. Come to think of it, the Altezza AS200 and non-(J) IS 200 should've been of those cars, as they had wimpy four-speed slushboxes attached to their 1G-FE engines, but instead, they behave like they have a four-speed manual.

But i'd like to play the PAL version, because it has 10 extra cars than the other versions, the screen resolution are better colours and quality than the other versions of GT4. Especially i can easily win a tournament career races or arcade mode thanks to the silly, error, and the fails of the AI opponents 🤣
The wiki page for the cars are quite a huge loss.
i'm italian, and i think it's better the ntsc-j because is hardest and completed with the music, and also for the fact that the original version, i play with the manual transmission and more play with 16:9 because it's more comfortable
Only we got I Predict a Riot? Shame, I always wondered how other countries responded to their Yorkshire accents...
Don’t know if this applies to all missions but mission 8 on PAL is harder than NTSC as the opponent is further away
Mission 34 is also miles harder for the ntsc version, you have to be about 12 seconds faster.
The Chinese release also has the language selector
In PAL version we don't have the classic Mini Cooper 1.3
The currency in the Japanese version is different from the Europe and North American version
Also the pal version has more car manufacturers than the other versions like Vauxhall and some other japanese
If only PAL version supported 1080i...
Edit: I remember see the IS 300 station wagon in the American version but I do remember that but the IS 200 in the American version. Funny enough here we only have the IS 300 irl only in America.
The Altezza and the Lexus Is was near identical in Gran Turismo. Especially GT5 and GT6
Eu já joguei uma versão do Gran Turismo 4 que tinha o Honda Civic Type R FK1 (2005) concept. Não sei qual versão era, mas na que eu joguei depois e atualmente não tem.
There was a Public Online beta version released exclusively in Japan.
Also has a US test version, I own an used and a brand new Japanese one.
シャパラルがあったりなかったり,bspecで途中Aspec参加とかができたりできなかったりがあるらしいけどどうなんだろ
Licence Centre is License Center for NTSC
This is why NTSC ver is inferior
@@suni08 And we choose different COLOURS for the cars not that stupid word colors or whatever the 'murican word is
@@FlamJongUn just trimming the unnecessary letters out. lol but there is still a screen in the NTSC version that says "licence"
The Japanese version also has a narrator.
That's incredible!
European release didn't have no progressive scan too.
In the Japanese menu, デジタル reads 'digital', not 'delicate'. Google Translate must've got confused.
I think JP intro is best one
todays my birthday but we celebrated it yesterday, and im now 11 and my uncle gifted me the pal gran turismo 4 and a ps2 fanatec wheel and i was super excited and my family gave me 20 euros for my mom so she can fix the ps2 and im waiting to get the ps2 that i have to get fixed and play it.
- The mighty mitsubishi lancer evo 5 gsr!
edit: the thing im worried about is that it didnt come with the 8mb card to also play gt mode and idk if that makes ur data be saved in the game.
What happend? Did they fix the PS2?
i hope you enjoyed the game!
Nice a Gameplay Comparison Gran Turismo 4 PS2. Can I use the link to put in my Description Video ?
It's Probably due to fitting in British English and American English
It seem your forgot the LAN option and multi screen play (need 3 PS2).
Does US version cars go slightly slower? Since there's some stages the target time's one for EU and other for US.
Yes you're right, some license tests and missions had different timings e.g. the wait time for mission 34 is shorter in PAL
The US version definitely has more understeer
Usually PAL version't time limit is much more strict for unknown reasons. But some for NTSC-U and NTSC-J version is harder.
The final Super license test in the European and US versions is in a Mercedes 190E touring car but in Japan, is in a Sauber C9.
The Italian version has car description, why the English doesn't?
i hope there's a mod that adds everything from all versions
Months later, we have "Spec II Mod"!
If i remember correct in the european Version are you able to tune the f1 car with tires and a turbo but in the american Version this is Inpossible
Corrwct me if im wrong
Nope, The Formula Gran Turismo cannot be tuned as its corresponding Dealership is Nonexistent in all regions. However, there is a description for Polyphony Digital as a Dealership in the game's code, which means that at one point, you could've been able to purchase tires for the car.
In the PAL region they call the Netherlands, Holland.
Al pagani le sacaron dos cero 😊😊😊 japan 388.720 vs pal y netc 38.872.000
Fantastic video, thank you. Would you happen to know if there are similar differences between the various regional versions of Gran Turismo 5?
Outside of tcrf I don't know any myself, but it's something I'll try to look into
Japanese commentary for Premium Cars, X and Circle functionality swapped, and Planetary(Go!) as a US Exclusive song. All cars are no longer region locked, but this creates unnecessary duplicates of existing cars, such as both Honda and Acura versions of certain Honda Cars now available, The #51 and #91 Viper GTS-R available as separate cars, etc.
is the pal version more blur cuz u cant change the video output? i would love to know
yes
9:41p.m. 5/24/2023
I haven’t some car and some map
Why cant i load ntsc u to pal version disc? or reverse
I think the American Version has description of the car
For some reason only the Japanese version of GT4 has description for the cars, while the other versions doesn't have description for the cars.
@@ΠαναγιώτηςΣανακίδης Confirmed, even Asian Chinese and Korean version doesn't have it.
@@sunray2818 Nope, Korean version also has description, since it's based on NTSC-J.
I just checked through my physical copy.
@@캐붕 That's weird, Asian Chinese version came out at the same date as NTSC-J Japanese version but it does not have it. You sure it's on the buttom of car selection screen of dealership?
photek
Huge loss for US players not hearing Photek
are saves compatible across all versions?
Sure thing, there's the price difference in Zonda; i mean nearly 40m credits ? My 88% save hasn't even reached that number lmao
É possível que o save (memory card) seja compatível? Exemplo
Save do NTSC-U, mas tenho DVD na versão PAL (exemplo),seria compatível? Eu continuaria com tudo que obtive na versão NTSC-U?
acho improvável, talvez dê para converter, mas não tenho certeza
that Used Car Showrooms I and II instead of going by years is awful to me
So I can't choose language in the Japanese version, right?
No, Japanese/Chinese/Korean versions are strictly stuck in their own regional languages.
@@sunray2818 why didn't them make 1 ASEAN language game?
@@liammeech3702 Probably the lanuage files alone takes up too much space, GT4's Asian Chinese version stated it can be switched into English on cover but actually it can't, at least you can get a small piece of paper that explains basic operation in English. But GT2002's Asian Chinese version does indeed has all English mode, which made that game very sought after in overseas market.
@@liammeech3702 Also Gran Turismo Portable's digital Asian version supports Chinese/Korean/English, basically Chinese and Korean versions can be distributed together, but Japanse version is always walking alone, the difference is way too much. But GT1-4 did have Asian Japanese version though.
So if I plan to play GT4 using an emulator, which version should I go with? Also would lack of resolution option matter at all since you can chose resolution through the emulator itself anyways?
the us because of the option to change video output
Better to have progressive output and upscale it through the emulator
PAL if you use silents de-interlacing patch.
@@kirby1225 but does that make the game runs at 60fps without speeding music and sound effects?
@@LtCommanderTato nah you can't make gt4 run at 60 fps on pal no matter what you do as far as I'm aware. unless there's some fix with the nightly version of pcsx2 as I'm currently on 1.6.0
Obrigado 🇧🇷
where’s the Korean version?
song of race finish?
It's just the race finish theme
