i think the reason i love this song so much is that the sound of it is so like the 90's and early 2000 songs... it doesnt sound like today's music at all... its really a beautiful song and she has an awesome voice.... I am hooked completely :)
Well it’s happy, crisp, uncluttered, and the singer sounds believable. The walk in the city video evokes the same spirit. The peaceful, joyful ambiance that floods the voices of Gloria Estefan, Amy Grant, a few others is a gift she has for sure. I don’t think that makes it 90s or 2000s so much as pure instruments and full natural vocals are missing from so much of the “new” music. I can’t even listen to the radio most of the time, honestly. It’s noise and half the female singers see to be trying to conjure up some guttural vocal destruction inspired by Adele. This IS refreshing and welcomed.
She has that emotional directness of Nanci Griffith and that perfect intonation of Amy Grant. Writes a good song too apparently. If I were her I’d be working on becoming the new ‘queen of Christmas’ LOL Totally different voice than Nanci Griffith but I’d love a Kaprelian Nanci Griffith cover album. That… believability she has in her delivery, like she really means the lyric she’s singing and cares about the characters. That was one of the key features that made Nanci Griffith a joy to listen to. I wouldn’t want her to sound like Nanci, I’d love to hear her interpretation of the songs with the intensity Nanci put into even her ‘pretty’ songs. This is funny. Her ‘One Republic’ cover has been in my playlist but I don’t think I’ve listened since… 2008? Just cleaning up some stuff and played it, and decided to see if she’d done anything with music. Well I guess she’s done something with music!
