Massive time & respect for David Johnson. Another great Australian competing on the world stage with plenty of years left in the seat. Equally, James goes from strength to strength, a complete natural in the role of host or commentary.
I looked Davo up following his excellent commentary on TTPlus. From his happy-go-lucky attitude I assumed he was a lot younger. If he’s not on the track, he has a great future as a presenter and commentary guy.
So I'm at the TT in 2015 and go to down to watch the Southern 100. I'm chatting to Danny Ahern from Australia, who I've just met, and up comes Davo Johnson, chatting away as if I've known him all my life, what down to earth great guy👍 Great interview in the series an top bloke James Whittam, legend and hero.
I was there 2015. In a group that had dinner with his folks one night. A good mate raced for his old man Murray, and worked as a mechanic in his business.
Another crackling down to earth interview! In my eyes you are all Legends!!! This year's TT will be the bees knees!!!! Thank you James for these genuine coffee chats and I wish all involved a fantastic heart pounding two weeks!!!
Absolutely brilliant interview, but gutted to know that Davo's big off in BSB means he misses this year's TT. Here's to him healing well & getting back to doing what he loves ASAP. 🤞
all the best this year Davo, you are a really nice person. i remember seeing you and just knew you as the bike racer from Australia. this video with Jamie was very enlightening. always good to see Jamie looking well, in 2015 our son was diagnosed with Lymphoma and its been a difficult few years, but a lot better now apart from being low on energy compared to how he was. this apparently is normal with any transplant which he ended up having. chemotherapy worked initially but after 1 year back at work the problem came back.he cant ride his motorbike too far or too hard now .
