Seems deliberate. Knowing that the trees and tall bushes on the other side of the fence could easily hide a threat why aren't there surveillance cameras on the perimeter? At the very least one would think that the Secret Service would patrol the perimeter before and during trump's golf game.
Charles Kupchan is wrong. The point of this war is that this is unacceptable in modern times. Ukraine doesn't have to march to Moscow to win, they just have to make russia give up trying to take land by force. Negotiated peace for anything less than their original borders is unacceptable. We''ve already seen what happens to Ukrainian's living under russian occupied territory and to say they should just willingly hand over whole provinces to reward russia's efforts is absolutely the wrong message.
Absolutely. There seems to be no-one realising that a peace deal will end the conventional war but begin unconventional war, which will lead to a restart of full hostilities. Everyone seems to ignore Russian history and how often they've lost smaller wars. Nobody considers what Poland might do, they could deploy into Ukraine if a deal looks like a very bad deal. The perspective is very colonial.

SS told 45 it was unsafe. Undoubtedly with his stubbornness, and “he knows more than the SS” he insisted on golfing. Probably threw a tantrum like a toddler, and now the SS takes the fall. Can’t wait for Nov 26 sentencing day. Expect they make no concessions and imprison him for the remainder of his life.

Key information missing. Why did Mr Trump suddenly decide to play golf that day? On hole 6 where were the agents when they spotted rife? What weapons did they have? (hand guns accurate to about 100 metres). Why did the suspect run immediately when it appears he had protection placed in back packs? How was a unnamed woman able to take picture of escapee's car number plates. Suspect arrested with no resistance. Still it does permit huge amount of media coverage>
