- Does it flex? That is the one question that I get asked all the time about the ACCUAIR air suspension system. That or versions of it like, can it flex? What kind of articulation does it have? Can it rock crawl? And, that's what Cindy and I hope to show you in this first video of the ACCUAIR Jeep JT Gladiator, out on the rocks and with the purpose of letting you decide how it does. I should note that you'll also get to see a few other cool benefits of having this kit so pay attention and be sure to watch until the end.

I don't think you could ask any more than that from airbags. Pretty impressive.
Coming from someone who wheels big Jeeps with coilovers, I have to say that I wasn't expecting a whole lot but once we were out there, I was pretty impressed with what I saw.
@@wayalife
A whole lot more options if your Jeep is a somewhat Daily Driver...
Great video Eddie. Not only the rock crawling itself, but the cinematography as well.
Thank you, we really do appreciate it and glad to hear you enjoyed our video.
Looks like this build would be the perfect candidate for the 74weld portals...nice video, keep'em coming!
I think even Eddie is scratching his head in disbelief of how well rounded this system is turning out to be. Honestly, "so far" this system is turning out to be a serious consideration for someone like myself! Looking forward to seeing Eddie put this through its paces. Cheer's 🥃🥂
LOL - not gonna lie, this suspension system did perform way better than I had imagined. I was genuinely impressed.
Bad ass white gladiators are awesome. Mine looks almost the same but ecodiesel. Same. Bumper. Only thing is the winch stay so high up in front of grill.
Great job editing to the both of you! It’s great that you actually tested it like you wheel you own Jeeps. Interested to see how those airbags hold up to constant flexing on the trail. Although the air system doesn’t flex and travel as well as a coil setup, for everyday driving and towing, the air system seems like it would be awesome.
Thank you and fortunately, we got the green light from ACCUAIR to "drive it like it was ours". As far as durability goes, ACCUAIR is so confident in their system, they will warranty it for 100k miles.
I’ve seen your videos on how you really wheel… 😂 You are the real deal on R and D for any review. Others review cars and parts like it’s a virgin! You, on the other hand, tear’em up. 😂😂
Great job Eddie.
@@jdc1997 well, to be fair, I didn’t want to take out the tail light 😁
Best UA-cam channel ever!
Truly humbled that you would say as much, thank you.
I’m blown away by that Accuair system. You guys put it through a good mix of easy to somewhat difficult obstacles and it handled it great. So awesome how you were able to simply raise the whole rig to clear that ledge! The flex was really impressive ad well, no way did I think you’d get that much articulation. I honestly don’t fully understand how it can achieve it. Thanks for showing your test sessions!
Glad you like it! 😊
@@wayalife how do i buy/get replacement bag's for the jeep kit?
looking 👀for some fronts
Yeah but how does it feel?
@@danamcwhiteMy brother bought it for his JT and the ride is pretty great. It’s really smooth on rough roads absorbing/damping the bumps really well, unlike my springs. 😂
@@mikepierson3097 did he install or do they have install places? I seen a guy on here say it took him 30 hours to install it
Great video. Continuing to enjoy the evaluation of this system.
Glad you enjoy it and we should have another video up today :)
the Jeep Gladiator is from around Orlando Florida
It's really nice to see you airing down 😌👍
LOL - glad you enjoyed seeing it.
I didn't know you had lockers in that Gladiator. Nice.
Yup, ARB front and rear. One of the benefits of having an air compressor on board :)
Thanks for all your accuair videos. I’m a disabled vet and at the age of 70 I’m finally giving in and lowering the difficulty of the trails I ride and looking for a more comfortable ride. I’m going from a JL Rubicon to a Bronco (IFS benefits) and am considering the accuair system. I greatly appreciate the info you are providing.
As an aside, you have excellent off-road driving skills, unlike a lot of the UA-cam personalities who use speed and over-built vehicles to make up for their lack of skill. The “kids” need a good example, and you sir are.
I am truly humbled that you would say as much and I do think a lift like this will serve you well. Thank you for your service.
Would love to install this system, but I can’t justify throwing away my new build out of a lift, new shocks, steering components, air compressor. Maybe on the next new Jeep!
Awesome video!! You need to talk Accuair into giving you a set-up for a JLU for installing and testing and show the install and ride with it. I would love to see how it works before dropping over 7 grand on the system, also I have full Artec Aluminum skid plates and want to make sure the air systems mounts. What size tires and offset is on the JT? Again, Awesome Video!!
Glad you liked the video. Not sure if it would work with your skids though or at least, as a bolt on kit.
Very nice setup. I am SOLD. Take my Money AccurAir.
Glad that we could share this with you.
This looks like it flexs awesome!!!! Does it droop as good as a regular setup...3.5 Evo...Meatalcloak...or Clayton. Seems like for me at least it flexs more than I would need and the ability to raise and lower would be more valuable than an extra few inches of flex.
The amount of flex any suspension kit provides is always determined by the length of the shocks they are running.
pretty impressive for sure. would love to put this on our mojave, but I would be sleeping on the couch for years. maybe you can call my wife and convince her that we really need this. thanks for the great videos you guys put out. lots of hard work in editing all this together.
LOL - well, I can certainly try 😁
Glad you enjoy our videos.
I'd like to see how it performs with rtt and gear in it like many gladiators . I know mine is loaded. I have 3.5 metalcloak and it handles everything great. But I do like this air system. That extra inch when needed is very useful
The ACCUAIR suspension system is made specifically for carrying heavy loads and without compromise to ride height or ride quality. We will show a test of this in an upcoming video.
This seems like an even more perfect setup for over landing, this would fix the sag in the back when loading up great and the rooftop tent, or even hauling a teardrop trailer
Honestly, overlanding is what I see this kit being best at. I think that it can also flex on the rocks is a major perk.
Great video, air system seems to work pretty well on the rocks I might have to look into a system for myself
Glad you enjoyed seeing this and yeah, it worked a lot better than I would have thought. It's definitely something worth looking at.
So excellent, wish I had a jeep!
Hope you're able to get one some day and glad you enjoyed our video :)
lol love the air....my Denali is not a flexer....but love the air....
LOL - it's surprisingly not so bad 👍
@@wayalife awesome....just posted my paint protection product MEK magnet
I like how these work per corner, very cool. Tire inflation is very cool too. This could be a nice upgrade for my RockLander build eventually.
Shorter airbags integrated into a coilover would be a neat way to select ride height without making the spring too stiff. Airbags filled to max height tend to be very stiff and result in a pogo stick effect (like the Grand Cherokee TrailHawk) however these seem to still compress decently at taller ride heights. I bet you get better fuel economy on the highway If you lower the ride all the way down too.
Yup, when set to #1 which is 2" lower than the default height, you do see better fuel economy.
That was a GREAT video! Amazing drone shots and crawling action.... WELL DONE🤩
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Très belle vidéo avec images qui donne envie.
Merci beaux
Awesome video as always!
Glad you enjoyed!
Great. Just great. Now I have another way to "Just Empty Every Pocket". I should NOT have watched this.
LOL - awesome. Glad you enjoyed what you saw.
Definitely works better than I thought it ever would off-road. I shot video of a 6 door Jeep on bags in Sand Hollow Utah that was very impressive.. The ability to lift and lower is nice.
Awesome video and info as always 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
15:17 Flexed out! Those bags were put through some rigorous testing. But the Accuair held up pretty good. Thanks for sharing. 🤙🏼
Glad we were able to share this with you and that you like what you see :)
It really does look badass! $7k though 😫😫😫
But living in Southern California and using my Gladiator as my daily driver maybe it would pay off on fuel economy savings by being able to lower it while driving on the freeway 😊
It's pricey for sure but still less than coilovers and in some ways, more functional. Their benefit really comes in how you use your Jeep.
The production level has always been high on Wayalife...but that doesn't stop them from raising the bumpers even more!
Can't wait for the next one.
LOL - love the raise the bumper comment! Thank you. We're truly flattered that you would say as much and glad to hear you enjoy our videos.
Awesome video!!!
Did you have the air suspension all the way up the whole time including when you got stuck?
Glad you enjoyed the video. No, I ran most of what we did on setting #2. The default ride height. I did go up to #3 from time to time too.
@@wayalife Thank you for replying back. Would it had made a difference in performance and the articulation if you would have had it in its highest setting when doing the more difficult crawls? Sorry for asking but this thing, intrigues me. I never thought I would subscribe to anyone, but you are the first person I ever subscribed to.
I don't think so. When you're at max setting, the ride is a bit too firm - bouncy even and that wouldn't help in articulated situations. Plus, I had one rear tire totally dropped into a hole and the other stuffed. If I had aired up the one side that was stuffed, it would have put me into the wall on the driver side.
How did it feel overall in your opinion, from what I seen in the video the accuair system seemed to handle great
Ride quality is 100% subjective but in my opinion, it rode well.
Just wish they would sell the system with airbag component kit only, Already have expensive lift lol
Unfortunately, you need to use their control arms as they have sensors on them that determine ride height.
@@wayalife that makes sense now maybe in future they can find an alternative. Seems like great setup
Well Damn Eddie, looks like that air ride handles some pretty substantial crawling, I am impressed! Being able to air it up and maximize brake over clearance, priceless! Thanks for another excellent video
So glad to hear you enjoyed our video and found what this suspension can do to be impressive.
That’s extremely test!!!!
That's an impressive amount of flex for anything, let alone air bags. Whoever designed that setup knew what they were doing. My only concern would be if the system springs a leak while on the trail and the gladiator ends up on its lowest setting. Still, I love unique builds and this is awesome. I also love that you give love to the sports - this ride, and Pippie. Do you still have pippie? Regardless, happy trails!
ACCUAIR is so confident in the durability of their suspension system that they will warranty it for 100k miles. As far as Pippi goes, yes, we still have her and hope to put out new videos featuring her soon. :)
@@wayalife glad to see a company standing behind it's brand! And happy to see new videos with Pippi!
Thanks for the video! Now I feel relieved since I already ordered and just waiting to install on a JLUR! 😅 Just for camping/overlanding mostly around Colorado; no extreme rock crawling.
Honestly, that is what I see this kit being best at. The fact that it can flex as well is just a perk.
Boy that gladiator is in dire need of a Rubicon transfer case , like wow it needs it badly.. but that suspension works extremely well . I was amazed on how well it flexed ..
LOL - tell me about it! It just had no power on the really big stuff. Otherwise, I'd have to agree with you - I was pleasantly surprised at how well it did in the flex department. I really wasn't expecting it.
Really suprising it was lacking power, with 8 speed and 2.73 to 1. Great video though! Now for my 4xe, no place to put that airtank.
Oh, there was power, just no torque.
Bro. Eddie … Your Editing & Production Quality Team are Next Level-‘no cap.
It’s understandable why, mad, sponsors come-a-knockin.’
What’d you guys do, binge on Walter Murch Master Classes ( In The Blink Of An Eye, 2001 ) ???
I digress.
This system might be, perhaps, “spared no expense, ” but from my vantage - it’s seems, quiet, choice.
I appreciate your effort and attention to detail. ✌🏽
Truly humbled that you would say as much and happy to hear you enjoy our videos 😎
To be honest, I didn't expect that, but surprisingly it works amazing. Can't wait for the next one.
Not gonna lie, it was surprising to us as well LOL
Nice. Answered my questions. I'm ready; just need my bank account to be ready too, as with all mods.
LOL - glad we were able to answer your question :)
Yes… been waiting for this video forever… glad you finally had the time to post it… 😃
Hope you enjoyed it!
This may be a little long. I like the concept. It seems to work. Moby on the other hand is amazing. But over the years I have seen what you put into Moby (still my favorite) Moby was in keeping it tight. This is cool. I would stick with Moby wayalife. Eddie thank you for another fantastic video. Oh one last thing Jane. Do you still drive her?
LOL - oh yeah, we love Jane and drive her all the time. We just don't make videos of everything we do with her.
OMG, after watching you do the thing with the sway bar disconnects, that was crazy! I just installed a pair of used JKS disconnects on my JK which were supposed to be "easy" and turns out you have to have it completely flat AND have someone jump up and down on the bumper... I guess I'm just not man enough... Love this air system.
LOL - glad we could share that with you :)
I tow with my gladiator (tow the TJ on an open trailer) and am also looking at an overlanding set up in the future for the JT. Kinda curious on the limits of it for towing, load capacity, load capacity and towing, and of course max lift height for that long JT frame break over angle. Seen this lift on display in person at GSMJI in 2022. Really like it. Great video!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video 👍
That was pretty impressive! Can't wait to see more. Great video and awesome editing as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!
On bumps/humps how does it feel? Must be better than traditional lift kit but less than the EVO high speed kit you tested couple weeks ago?
You are correct. This suspension system is not nor is it trying to be a set of coilovers. It rides nicer than stock but no where near as fast as coilovers. We have a video on this coming soon.
You guys must have another place in Florida. Couldn't help but notice the out-of-place Florida tag. 😁
LOL - this Jeep belongs to ACCUAIR and they're located in Florida. They just asked us to take it around the block and share what we thought about their air suspension system 😎
Think I was the first person to ask this question. Glad you did the video because it's a Jeep and we tend to go on adventures anytime. Always a great channel and your the best with your followers, so thank you sir.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video and appreciate you asking the question. 😎
Damnit. I should have not watched this. Now I don't want anything else. 🙂
Can I put this on a Gladiator Rubicon 2023 ?
LOL - it is a nice system and yes, you should be able to install it on a Gladiator Rubicon.
@@wayalife I factory ordered a Gladiator Rubicon. Can I get a private message with a reommended place to get this installed? I should get my vehicle around September. Thanks!
@@jaminoes_ You can reach me on my forum at wayalife.com. Look for the username "wayoflife" and send me a message.
@@wayalife I registered, username 'jaming'. Says account awaiting approval.
Apparently it has more than enough flex for 90% of most trail situations...far better than I would have thought. I was wondering when you were going to raise the suspension for better breakover & departure angle, the nemesis of all trucks...didn't have to wait long.
LOL - didn't even have to try and make that scene happen. The need arose and I took the opportunity. And yes, I think this kit offers MORE than what most will ever need.
Nice work Eddie! Thanks for showing it off!
Happy to hear you liked our video and glad to show off your suspension so that others can decide for themselves what it can do.
Very interesting, as a new sub I’ve got some ideas…
While driving on an edge of a slope (as if going to flip) can you air up one side max and bottom out the opposite side to feel level inside just for kicks.
Next when the front and rear opposite tires are free spinning or there about (stuck), add air to the compressed (grounded tires) to give traction back to the ones that has lost it. Being non rubicon think that would be an interesting test for many.
Cant forget max payload and trailer tongue to test out the towing handling characteristics.
We'll try to showcase some of that in future videos.
The ability to level with a rooftop tent and change ride heights I knew about. When you used it to reconnect the sway bar…🤯
LOL - glad we could share this with you 😁
I want to see the Accuair Gladiator on the Rubicon or a similar trail. Something long that will thoroughly test the system's ruggedness.
LOL - would love to but we're having one of the most epic winters I have ever seen. If this keeps up, we won't be able to run the Rubicon until July.
Ouch…that sounded painful 😮. Not sold on it but pretty good. Thanks Eddie, have a great day sir
LOL Thanks, you too!
That was one of my quedtions, thank you for show us this video I think will work fine for us
Awesome! Glad we were able to show you what it can do.
Right on Eddie!! almost 200K subscribers. Good on ya' my man!!
Thanks 👍
Does what you need it to do. Seems like some quality stuff! The coolest part was when you leveled it out for the sway bar. That’s super convenient.
Glad to hear you like what you see :)
Have a good time thanks
My Jeep is a JKU 4 DR and she’s my Daily Driver. How are the manners on the Street?
I’m so torn between this System vs a Clayton Lift w/ SDI-ECLICK PRO.
Thoughts my Friends?
I just found your Videos recently thanks for the awesome content.
Peace
Street manners are great. Super comfortable and stable. Way better than most of the lift kits that I've installed and tested over the last 25+ years.
Awesome System! And as always very nice to see Moby’s (Cindy) got your Back just in case! 👍
LOL - always good to have someone to rely on and yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it did out on the rocks.
JK vs JL ! which platform do you like more? Biggest concern I do have is a power train. 3.6L v6 vs 2.0 turbo! And I wondering 10 speed auto gear box is reliable enough? I do make my comparison between JK and JL and also Bronco vs Wrangler. Any tips for me? I will not go extreme as you do but overall quality for on-road and off-road as a beginner? Any tips for me?
If you're even considering a JL, that's what I would get and with a 3.6L. Also, it's got an 8 speed automatic transmission and it's actually amazing in how much power it provides. So far, I have not seen or heard of any issues with it.
I bet it's comfy, I have similar air bags on my truck 👍
As a matter of fact, I do think it rides nicely.
You absolute mad lad, Eddie!
Great stuff as usual (Cindy does some amazing work), thank you for sharing!
LOL - Glad you enjoyed it 😁
One video left… lets see how it handle faster driving in whoops or just desert driving in general… please and thanks…
To be fair, this isn't trying to be or even compete with coilovers but yeah, we'll make that video 😎
You guys are crazy! Awesome video and skills.
LOL - glad you enjoyed the video
Nice video
But it seemed to me like for the most part (except the time you stopped to raise it) that you were in the lowest setting of the accuair system while wheeling.
How would it do if you took the entire ride at the highest position ??
Again, great video . . .
Actually, we were running most of the trail in the default setting #2. Going to #3 would offer too harsh of a ride. Fine for crawling but not ideal for moving fast across the desert.
Looked to me like it worked pretty darn well!
I won't lie, it worked better than I had imagined.
Looks like the cameraman doesn't really care about their life. Getting in front of the vehicle like that was not very smart.
LOL - thank god for internet messiahs! What would we do without you 👍
Very nice! What is that buzzing sound around 9:54? It seems to run for some time. Is it the air compressor? If so, why does the system need more air, is it the extreme articulation?
The Jeep you're looking at runs ARB air lockers. Unfortunately, the one in the rear ProRock 80 axle has a leak inside the differential. We've replaced it several times and it's just a defect in the design. It still works with the compressor on but it is annoying to all hell.
Works great!
I think so.
Only real downside to a system like this is complication, too many points of failure, blow an air line offroad and you are sitting on the tire stranded, when it comes to wheeling simple and repairable rules the day jmho
While I agree that the more complicated a system is, the more points of failure can occur but really, I'd have to say the same about the Jeeps we drive. Today, they are a far cry from my old CJ5 and I have personally seen plenty go wrong with them and yet, we all still wheel them. As far as this kit goes, ACCUAIR is so confident in their system, they will warranty it for 100k miles. Also, IF one piston or line were to fail, the failure would be limited to just the one as each are controlled by individual solenoids. This would leave you running on your bump stop with the sway bar helping out, just like a broken coil would and from experience, I can tell you that it's not the end of the world.
Got a link for the quick disconnects? They appear to be a high quality version
The links come with this kit or at least, the ones made for non-rubicons
NIce...where is your dog in the adventure?
Safe Travels!
Thanks and Ripley is riding inside the Jeep. You can see her from time to time through the window. Sorry we didn't get any footage of her playing around :)
Very cool!! What are the negatives to running this kit outside of the price and possible air leaks?
Cost is definitely the biggest negative but if you watch all the other videos that we've made testing this kit, I think you will find there aren't too many others.
If you ever take a everyone is welcome to join route around the Reno area I would love to know. I would like to try a challenging route but not real extreme.
We post up runs here www.wayalife.com/forums/trails-upcoming-events.23/
Air suspension is great until a bag gets punctured, compressor fails, an air line or height sensor fails. I know it definitely has a cool factor, however it also adds a lot more things to fail. I've owned a Lincoln Mark VIII with factory 4 corner air suspension and it rode great, but all bags had to be replaced due to age. My Expedition has factory rear air suspension which is great since it automatically levels when towing. I've also replaced the bags 3 times over it's 20 year life. On another Mark VIII a small piece of glass somehow found it's way between the cup and bag which caused it to puncture and this was on the street. Imagine all the rocks and debris off road, this would be a big concern for me. Also the huge upfront cost.
All I can say is that ACCUAIR is so confident in their system that they will warranty their air pistons for 100k miles. Also, we've been testing hard off road and for well over 5k miles. So far, we've seen no problems what so ever with rocks and debris and yes, we have been looking.
Love the video! Wondering if you had stock axles and gear ratio on that Sport to turn those 37s?
Stock axles and 4.88 gears
Please give us an updated review as I am thinking of buying one for my JL
We posted up the following video after testing it out for half a year ua-cam.com/video/fWDqCv5cjtM/v-deo.html
Absolute top notch video guys!!👍🏻🔥
Thank you. Happy to hear you enjoyed it :)
Do they sell replacement airbags? They do eventually wear out.
ACCUAIR will warranty their air pistons for 100k miles. That said, I do believe they will sell replacements as needed.
How much of a lift does it give? 3.5-4.5 inch or better?
On a JT, you get about 4.5"
Well I guess you can say it’s flexible alright! 😃
LOL - I would say so :)
Happy to see you tested it on real terrain and let the video do the talking.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it 😊
Overland alone but no wheeling
👍
That area looks amazing Eddie can I ask where that is?
really nice product...loved the video too!
Glad you liked it!!
Great vid. Florida plate? 🤷
Yup, that's where this Jeep is from :)
The Gladiator is a jeep, that even surprises the jeepers themselves
LOL
Another great video, a lot of good info and of course the scenery was cool!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😎
there is no way to keep your steering wheel straight unless you run the default height right?
The steering is set for default ride height, setting #2. On setting #1, there isn't enough change in height to significantly affect the position of your steering wheel. As in, you can barely see the change if at all and certainly, your Jeeps computer does not read it as being off enough to kick in traction control. On the bump stops or at the maximum height, setting #3, you can only drive at 25 mph or slower. Any faster and the system will automatically put you back at default ride height. We will try to show all this in a future video.
Probably the best solution for those that want to overland and light Rock crawling.
It did well ( obviously not as good as a full coilover kit with long arm Suspension ) if all you're going to do is Rock crawl idk why anyone would buy a Gladiator to just do that...
Air-Bags hold up well ( only downfall is getting oil on them. )
Not sure of the quality of the Air Compressor but it probably wouldn't hurt to buy an extra one ( just in case )
It also would be nice if they could design some sort of a Puck to stick under the bag to raise the Vehicle if Failure should happen to one of the bags.
The Best kit out there for Versatility, hands down!
I agree, this kit is probably best suited for your typical overlander who might dabble in some light rock crawling.
Great video that System seems to work pretty good looking forward to seeing more test on it
Glad you enjoyed the video and hoping to get more up soon.
pretty impressive for sure. would love to put this on my Gladiator
Impressive!
Not too bad for what else it can do for sure.
