I really love the New Nautilus and the new look of the crew, especially Electra's and Capt. Nemo's. I think Electra's suit is where they based Rei Ayanami's and Asuka's suits, and I can't unsee Ritsuko Akagi on her :D It sucks that New Nautilus has such short time in the series.
To forget their presence in the first 10 seconds of the OP, the anime that good, never let the mind by the time you finish. Nadia was such a rare piece.

Yes, that's exactly the reason I liked the dub. It's not often that dubs feature children that sound like children, but I was really impressed that ADV went out of their way to cast age appropriate actors for them. The chemistry between all three was terrific; Jean had the toughest job IMO, so of course I cut him some slack; it's tough to pull off a French accent convincingly and without sounding annoying, and it must have been a challenge from the start. But I loved his actual acting.
The Grandis gang was done BEAUTIFULLY, too; Sanson's British accent was perfect, as was Grandis's VA and Hanson's scrappy VA was fitting. Nemo sounded a bit stiff at first but he got more into character. It was a nice touch for Electra to have a British accent; Gargoyle took some getting used to, but it was worth the effort.
I've never watched this series but since i'm watchewd the OP(nearly a decade ago) it gives me good feeling(it have and vivid "adventure" feeling), so i'm finally decided and use the modern technology to finally give a watch to this series, wish me good luck xD

Add in the "oddly familiar" design of Nemo, and you begin to suspect Hideaki Anno doubled down on a hat-tip to "Macross", for which he was an animator.
The dub certainly is one of their better ones (not that ADV's had a lot of bad dubs their ratios was 90% good with 10% stinkers on occasion), the fact they got actors who were near Nadia, Jean and Marie's ages sold you they were kids and I think Jean's VA did a nice job with the French accent selling he's french.
I wonder why the ADV dub DVD's nix this opening and keep the first opening, if another company picks this up from ADV's vaults be nice if this opening was restored. Just something about seeing the Execlion-Nautilus flying into the sky and the the bad-ass pose segment with Capt. Nemo and the crew is just gold.

Nadia is supposed to be inspired by Egyptian civilization and Cleopatra, a girl from a lost civilization. It's the plot of the story, it has nothing to do really with political agenda

What gets me is why do the ADV DVD's mix the 2nd opening? It's supposed too start with episode 36 to the end but it's the 1st opening all the way through.
This song has a very Paula Abdul/Taylor Dayne-ish feel to it. It remains one of my all time FAVORITE anime opening songs. I'd say I even like it more than Cruel Angel's Thesis from Nadia's stablemate Eva.
I guess they just didn't receive it when they were working on the show. Still, I thought ADV did a great job with it, especially the dubbing; this is one show I just can't watch in Japanese at all, even if the accents can be hit and miss at times.

Probably the best anime I've seen in a VERY long time. Stuff like this beats out a lot of the newer shows bogged down with CGI.

モチーフは借用してるけど真に受けない方がいい。恐らくは元になった企画が同じと言われてるラピュタを意識してのこと（あっちはガリバー旅行記を原案にクレジットしてる)。それがオマージュか誤魔化しかは何とも言えないけど。

XenoJehuty84 Sentai Filmworks (ADV's successor) released this on blu-ray a few years ago, and this opening is used.
