@metaldams78 you should try and track down the virus 12 inch single because it has the two tracks that are not on the double cd as for the lp it was about £70 at the time and I have seen it on Ebay for megapounds
I was working on Mackinac island in the sunmer of 88, and my roomate came home and said " i got 2 new tapes at the drugstore", one was seventh son of a seventh son, and the other was jimmy page, " outrider" , he put them on, and we both looked at each other and said " what are these pieces of shit", " my, how the mighty have fallen" , oh well, good times!
I'm a huge Maiden fan but I agree with you on the Seventh Son Album. It's their weakest from the 80's....and it's not even close. Just too many keyboards.
Detroit rock city, Can I play with madness, Sure know something, Deuce, Bring your daughter to the slaughter, I was made for loving you, Aces high, Be quick or be dead, 2 minutes to midnight, Strutter, Cold gin, Plaster caster, Wasted years, Flaming youth, The trooper, Shout it out loud
Sounds like a fun match up !... 1. Detroit rock city 2. Hard lick woman 3. Fear of the dark 4. Deuce 5. Do you love me 6. The evil that men do 7. Calling Dr. Love 8. Christine 16 9. Two minutes to midnight 10. Strutter 11. Cold gin 12. Plaster caster 13. Wasted years 14. The clairvoyant (hate Flaming youth...worst song on Destroyer...imo) 15. The trooper 16. Hallowed be thy name Kiss - 9 IM - 7
1) DRC. I can't even put into words the short and long-term effect Destroyer has had on me. 2) Hard Luck. 7th Son is hot garbage. I'd put "Nicko performs a sound check" on a 'Best Of' album before any track on 7th Son. 3) Fear of the Dark. I've never even heard "Fear of the Dark" and I know it's better than "Sure Know Something". Jesus Christ. Really? That's what they're pulling from 'Dynasty'? Fvck me... 4) Deuce! Every recorded version of this song is a winner. Can you imagine watching 'Rock Concert' and seeing that sh1t for the first time? Damn. 5) Do You Love Me ( ? ) Paul's best showcase, hands-down. That middle section is just rock and roll Ambrosia. 6) I begrudgingly give this to the Casablanca disco showcase. 7) Damn. This is the hardest one thus far. There's so many things I love about 'Powerslave', but the influence of the entire RRO album on me and Ace's solo in this song can't be denied. The Doctor is IN. 8) Maiden. "Love Gun" is heavy on filler and I have no idea why kids would ask me if I'd heard "Christine Sixteen" like it was the second coming of Pizza, Ice Cream, and UFO's. 9) 2 Minutes. ( which took not 2 seconds to choose ) NEXT! 10) STRUTTAH! No explanation required. 11) Cold Gin. Ace trumps all. 12) Running Free. This and 'Iron Maiden' are always my favorite parts of any Maiden concert. 13) Wasted Years. Great opening riff, killer chorus and solo. This is exactly what you want from a Maiden tune. 14) Yeah the Calliope sucks ass and is a great argument for sobriety, but by comparison? KISS. 15) The Trooper. There's nothing on 'Unmasked' that can compete with this Maiden classic. 16) Tough choice. I'll give it to Maiden though because this song ALWAYS slays live.
1. Detroit Rock City 2. Hard luck woman (Hate CAN I PLAY....dont like the album either) 3. Sure know somethin' 4. Deuce 5. Do you love me? 6. Haha really made me laugh to hear Two Sides of The Coin is on Greatest Hits 🤣🤣
Ridiculous song from Ace
The double cd or the 4 lp version is the way to go with best of the beast
I have the double CD (bought when it was a new release) and wish I had the vinyl since it has the complete Soundhouse Tapes.

Kiss wine because kiss turned me into rock music. But Maiden was important too growing up into a metal head 🤘
I'm with you, a definite tie. However if Maiden put some DiAnno era material into the album, they'd have easily beaten KISS.
Kiss 7 Iron Maiden 9.
I would choose Maiden's "Clairvoyant" over that dreadful KISS circus tune; otherwise, my choices pretty well line up the same. SHMACKEMAGOB, Doc!
The true "Best Of The Beast" would be a small box of all DiAnno material. Can't stand the warbling fop on vox.
No contest Iron Maiden is a far superior band, and it's not even close.
