Almost for 60 years listening to ancients, baroques, pre-clasics, classics, post-classics,romantics,post-romantics, serialists, dodecafonics, aleatoristics, etc, etc, to find now, in 2014, that something so incredible as Bergersen's music exists, is the gratest discovery of the last years of my existence !!!!!!! Long life Thomas...
I listen to this occasionally and your comment always seems to be on top, but more I associate the video with you somewhat. It was a long time ago that I first saw it and I wonder still if you're doing all right. Long life to you, too!
I've had similar feelings about my 73 years on this earth having looked for music just like this but without success until a few years back stumbling upon my first taste of "epic." Richard Wagner came close in classical, Phil Spector came close in pop--but THIS is the music that makes me feel as if my search is complete and my life is fulfilled. I can die a happy man.
Starfall, Immortal, Merchant Prince, Sonera.... Man, Thomas Bergersen. How are you so good at writing music? These songs are incredible. Dude, every time I hear Immortal...I just have to look up and acknowledge that masterpiece. :)
One of the coolest things about him is that he treats movie score type music like pop music. He doesn't need a movie to compose this type of music, and we as listeners don't need the backdrop of a movie to enjoy it. It's something fairly rare in the modern music scene. As a fan of the orchestral movie score genre, I've waited a long time for a composer to emerge and do just... this. I just hope everyone actually ensures that he can continue to compose music by actually going to iTunes or Amazon or w/e and opens their wallets and pay for their favorite tracks. It's only fair.

You’re doing your best, and that’s enough. The little steps you take every day are building something beautiful. Trust in your own path and allow yourself the space to grow, heal, and thrive.
Best composer I have ever heard. No other composer can seem to do both beauty and epic well. They usually do one or the other, but Bergersen does both better than anyone!
Sorry buddy, but if you make broad stroke comments like that, you show your ignorance. You either haven't listened to the right techno tracks, or you simply weren't paying attention. Techno, first off is more associated with the first half of the 90s. Laying the foundation for the techno genre up were the synth musicians of the 70s and 80s like Vangelis, Jarre, and Tangerine Dream. From Tangerine Dream emerged one of the greatest musician of our time - Hans Zimmer. From the genre of orchestral music that he basically single handedly created emerged musicians like Thomas Bergersen here, Harry Gregson-Williams, Steve Jablonski, and how about Tom Holkenborg AKA Junkie XL? He does both dance/techno AND orchestral music for movies. Modern musicians mix and match musical genres. So... don't be closed-minded.
Don't be so offended, I was only referring to the bad 80s techno music. Haven't you heard of them? Sigh....don't make assumptions out of others. You must first empty your cup before you can fill it again, my apprentice.
This album contains a lot of good songs. To choose the best among them is a difficult task. Each of them takes us to a different time, a different place, a different memory and makes us activate different feelings. That's what makes good quality music.
Gosh...I love Cassandra....each time I hear it, in any of the mixes and tracks I have to stop work and just listen...and enjoy :)) Thank you so very, very much. May God bless you.

Starfall; And there I was, I who once sat atop a lofty throne among the skies, clouds and the stars. My elegance, my grace, my nobility now faded; washed away by the soothing caress of the earth, the grass, the seas and the wind. I wonder this curious world always filled with adventures and surprises at every turn. From the exotic cities, the grand halls of kings and regents, to the vast open lands and the ever inviting seas. My name is Dantarion, weaver of the stars. Once a prince amongst the suns and the stars, now I walk amongst the frail men and Fae of this world you call Gaea. And like the saying of how the fates are written in the stars, so too shall I weave my own fate amongst men and women who have proven to shine more than even the sun.

Listening to Thomas Bergersen's music is epic to say the least. I am flying on a Eagle from faraway lands, from the depths of Hell to the heights of Heaven, my soul shines with iridescence of light, of joy and wonderment. When my time comes for me to leave this ol' Earth, may I be greeted by the Lord Himself, May I hear these words "Welcome home my child !" May I also hear the music of Thomas Bergersen as my soul ascends to Heaven itself. That would not be the end of my journey. It is only the beginning of my life.

Honestly EpicMusicChannel (EMC), what's this? Sour grapes to you ;))) I know exactly what you're trying to say and of course there can never be a "Best of..." because you may as well just put EVERYTHING in.... lol! But just remember some people have never listened to as much of TB as we have and this is a wonderful prelude to the epic and wonderful Thomas Bergersen. I've listened to all of these tracks dozens and dozens of times but they never lose their shine or their brilliance and never fail to move me. So thank you EpicMusicVn, I love it! Can never have enough TB :) .......yes, yes, I'm coming EpicMusicChannel (EMC) :DDD
This Music is such Epic, like the universe self. Inspiring, No limits, obviously Epic. Just WOW. It gives someone power to believe yourself to go forward, never stop, do your thing. You only got one life guys, take it, and enjoy it. Peace.
Great music. Epic. I listen this kind of music when i read epic books, like stories from Raven-loft or Forgotten realms. When I read Tolkien's books the original soundtracks of-course.
Excellent selection of songs, I can listen to "Cassandra" and "Merchant Prince" all day if I could. But (in my opinion) "Victory" and "Empire of Angels" should definitely be in this category too :)

This should be a Best of? Really? ^^ Well, all the tracks in this video are beautiful and epic, but there are so much more incredible songs by Thomas Bergersen. From 2006 (the beginning of TSFH and him) till today 99% of his works are brilliant :)
I would not argue, but I miss some of his battle tracks. OK, Immortal is here, but where are "Archangel", "To Glory", "Magica", "Spirit Of Champions", etc.? A 2- Hour Special might have been better :) But thanks anyway for your work ;)
SableAradia . As I wrote: It's almost impossible to create a Best Of, because Thomas is a genious, so nearly every song of him is perfect. Best composer I have ever heard. No other composer can seem to do both beauty and epic well. They usually do one or the other, but Bergersen does both better than anyone!
