James Phillips demonstrates the versatility of the Stockholm P90, showcasing its full spectrum of tones. For more information on the Stockholm P90 - www.bareknuckl...
How clear would these sound on a .085 low E string? I love the sound in the demo, but I’m worried they’ll sound muddy with the heavier gauge strings for tunings like Drop E and so on.
P90s work absolutely great for lower tunings and bigger strings. They have a wider frequency range than most humbuckers and have a particularly strong and focused magnetic field which ensures that every vibration of the string is accurately captured.
Well played you maniac! Which P90 from BKP do you think is better for cleans, Stockholm or Pig? I'm building a custom 7 string that will feature a single bridge pickup and I need the versatility to play good cleans aswell as high gain stuff.
I can only speak from my own experience with choosing between BKP's P90 pickups, and I eventually settled on the Stockholm set (humbucker sized). I'm glad I didn't get the Pig set because the Stockholm bridge pickup is already more than hot enough (even hotter than most of the humbuckers I own)! With the Pig 90 bridge being way hotter than the Stockholm bridge, I don't think there's a chance to get any good clean tones out of the Pig 90 bridge, unless you roll the volume way back on the guitar and dial down the gain on the amp a lot. The Pig 90 set might be good if you mainly want to play doom/sludge, but the Stockholm and Supermassive sets are probably more versatile. The only slightly negative comment I have about the Stockholm set is that they sound a lot like a pair of modern humbuckers rather than regular P90's. They have the clarity and attack that you expect from P90's, but a lot of high quality humbuckers today also have that. This can either be a good or a bad thing depending on who you ask though. Good luck with your choice!
All of our singlecoil pickups are true singlecoils, so don't have any built-in noise cancelling systems, but we do everything that we can to keep the noise floor to a minimum by being very particular about the materials used for every individual component and the way that we construct the pickup.
The Supermassive and Stockholm use different types of coil wire, giving the Supermassive a deeper growl in the midrange and a bit more treble in comparison to the Supermassive. The output levels in the real world are pretty close, as they both use the same Alnico V magnet set
Incredible. Keep doing what you're doing, BKP! You guys are amazing. Cheers from the US!
Wow, awesome song.

@@nj1255 Thank you very much for the detailed clarification 😁
Great video! Have no idea what the pickups sound like¿
me: watch video
me 2 seconds after: buys 7 string stockholm set
And what strings model is in use?
What Revstar model is in the video? RSS02t or RSP02?
Sounds amazing! Are these p90s low noise/noiseless?

What are the diffences between the Stockholm and the Supermassive? only output?

@@BKPickupswould a Stockholm Bridge paid nicely with a Supermassive neck?
@@BKPickupscan you clarify? You refer to supermassive twice in first sentence. Thanks.
@@BKPickups can you explain better? You refer to supermassive twice, thanks
