This opened on the same week as The Princess and the Frog. This movie made 4 times its budget, while the Disney movie people demanded to see didn't even make double its budget, thus killing off western hand drawn animation.

Matthew Smith they are on good terms, she just decided that she wanted to do her own thing rather than be known for being what's essentially the female counterpart of another interest persona. Granted I always thought her more mellow reviews and difference in terms of humor set her apart just fine, but I can see why she wouldn't want to be constantly compared to someone else.

Huge is an overstatement I'd say. Of course there's porn of it (thanks to rule 34. NOTHING is safe from its clutches) but I wouldn't go as far to say there is a "huge" amount of it, when things like Pokemon and Zootopia exist to be exploited.
It is always a constant factor. Cant be avoided. I mean the the slogan is "If it exists there is porn of it."

The most violent movie I saw before I was a teenager was the Alien movie series. And that was hardly anything to Silence of the Lambs. I think I would have evacuated every system in my body if I watched it at that time. I still can hardly watch it.

Fun fact about Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009): Jason Lee (Dave Seville) was supposed to have a larger role in this film like he did in the first live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, but since he had scheduling conflicts with the NBC show he starred in "My Name is Earl" at the time, his screentime had to be rewritten shorter and most of his scenes had to be filled in with Zachary Levi's character in this movie, Toby Seville. So that's why we don't see nor hear of Dave a lot in this movie.
I just can't wait for the Pentiquel.
And the Hexiquel.
And any guaranteed subsequent squeakquels.

You want to hear a case of a sequel not trying but still getting lots of rewards for it? The Minions movie grossed more money than return of the king. That's right. That stupid cash in is higher up on the highest grossing films of all time than Peter Jackson's cinematic masterpiece.
I'm not sure if the source is credible, but on wikipedia it showed that minions grossed higher than Return of the King. I was watching the channel supercarlinbrothers and they were talking about frozen (another movie that has grossed higher) and they showed a list from a wikipedia article showing both higher than return of the king.

David Cross redeemed himself by doing Crane from Kung Fu Panda
Zachary Levi redeemed himself by doing DC's Shazam
Zachary Levi is, in my opinion, the saving grace of this movie.
His scenes are CHUCKle-worthy (see what i did there)
In all seriousness, he’s an outstanding actor with wonderful performances (Shazam! is his magnum opus) and great role model for me (his role in the aforementioned movie saved me from an awful depression and i would be honored to meet him one day)

Zachary Levi is actually a very talented theater and song actor
20:05 I don't know why but the second you hit your head, it makes me break out in hysterics. There's something about the speed of it the way you do it and the sound it makes. A lot of reactions from you tend to be over exaggerated and hyper but that's for the sake of the persona, but this one was very simplistic and I think that's the reason why it made me laugh harder than anything else.

I feel like when they were writing the script the writers kept throwing out all these ideas for what the plot should be and then the director was just like "Guys, guys!...Your all right!"
