When I hear rock and roll night club like this it takes me back. Not even that far but it feels like a whole different life. I was pretty late to discovering Mac , had just turned 18 and was working my first job at this factory. Was so shitty but I needed insurance for my car and for a young man that shit is expensive, was £1600. So I was cycling 3 miles to this job everyday which may not sound like a lot but when you’re waking up 5 days a week to cycle to something you really hate it takes a lot of Will power. It was in summer and it was so hot every single day, I’d be smoking so much weed before a shift I’d sometimes be so fried out of my mind for the first few hours at work I’d feel like I could fall asleep at my desk. But I had just started listening to Mac and was discovering all his music, I remember Brother being a standout song to me, when the lyrics are telling me to go home it made me want to turn back and head home everyday but I knew I had to bust my ass off in that factory. Every night after I finished my shift at 11pm I’d go home and get so fried and listen to so much different music and get lost in my own world. I miss those times for the time I got to spend with the music and how it felt discovering it all, but all shit has to end and weed really fucked up my mental health and I had to quit. Felt like expressing this, enjoy things whilst they last, when you’re in a routine of things you enjoy notice it cos you don’t know when it could go bad. Know that you’re enjoying something even if it’s amongst shitty things.
