  • Back in 1995 I instigated the Tommy Bolin Archives with partners Johnnie Bolin and Barry Simons to friggin put Tommy Bolin out front where he deserved to be and continues to be. We put out 20 CDs and we did three years of Tommy tribute concerts. In 1997 we bought Glenn Hughes and Zephyr to the The Bluebird Theater in Denver. Robert Ferbrache recorded and produced this album and we released it. It has long been out of print but here it is for you to listen to. It really is great. Johnnie Bolin is on drums Terry Brooks on keyboards, Robert Ware on bass and Glenn Hughes on bass plus Rocky Athas and Ralph Patlan on guitar -,it’s great - what can I say besides it’s great because you know what it’s great. It was so great that Glenn put it out himself a few years later with a different title without ever asking us if it was okay! Oh well!

I came to Denver from CA for the Bolin tribute concert in 1998 but that was nothing compared to the guy who came all the way from Sweden. Glenn Hughes has put this out since? I agree that he should have asked permission but at the very least, he could have called just to say hello! I was pretty much aware of all things Tommy around that time but my attention soon turned to the blues, fusion and Latin jazz that Tommy so loved. I then fell way behind on other subsequent releases that were either Bolin or Tommy-related. I got the Teaser sweatshirt for Christmas in ‘98 but I would be interested in a T-shirt with the Archives logo on the back if there are any at all left over

"It was so great that Glenn put it out himself a few years later with a different title without ever asking us if it was okay! Oh well!" MIke, you left out the part where you put it out without asking Glenn if it was okay. I remember getting the call wanting to know if I'd done a deal behind Glenn's back to let you record and release this. You're lucky he didn't sue you.
