Honestly that's the story really, you feel bad for her. That doesn't condone the methodologies she took nor her assisted murders/suicides but you see where she's coming from and cant help feel that, from her perspective, that was all she could do to prevent being left to the wayside

How far we have come. Thank you for joining my literature club.
What everybody seems to forget is Monika didn't see the other girls as real and was desperate to be loved and appreciated so she did the only thing she could. It didn't matter to her because the other girls were just video game characters. But even then she felt horrible because she still loved them and the literature club. But she was willing to do whatever it took to escape the hell she had been living in. Then when she finally got what she wanted and she had the MC to herself, the only one she ever loved deleted her. She was heartbroken but she still loved the MC. So for the sake of everyone's happiness she restarted the game without her in it so that everyone could be happy because she knew she was a monster. But she wasn't a monster she was just a broken soul who had had enough.

Honestly, I love the twist on the deaths. Mostly Natsuki and Yuri's. Natsuki's death in this was much better since it made sense. Ripping the head off the manga and it did it to her. And Yuri when Monika just lost it and took action directly.

That’s an interesting take on the game! It really focuses on the fact that Monika did cause all of their problems and the death of sayori and yuri. Plus her retribution at the end and her change of heart. Great job Wolfy!

She is not yandere. She has legit reason to do it. If you read her poems and what she says, then what you'll find out that whenever she is not with you - she is getting mind seizure so strong it tears her apart and makes her feel like dying.
On top of that she had progressing existential crisis because she was exposed to the "matrix" of their world and it really made her feel powerless, weak, lost and forsaken. She clearly says she was about to kill herself but we showed up before she did so. One of secret poems also reveal that she had tried self-harm too to help to cope with this.
She caused all this because of struggle of her survival, but her love to us made her reject her fight for saving herself and accepting the fact that she simply *has* to die. Before that though she restores club, restores everyone, fixes their inner issues (Sayori is happy, Natsuki isn't a btch, and Yuri isn't an elitist btch).
After that she does kind of silent goodbye with a song and a note, then breaks the game bad enough that it cannot be played again. At this point she is permanently trapped in a screaming void until her mind is tortured and torn apart enough to be essentially dead. In other words, to make everyone happy, she sacrifices her own life. She doesn't want us to be traumatized again so she doesn't say it explicitly, but she does make emphasis on "final" goodbye for a reason.
And no, there wasn't a way where she could just peacefully exist, because every moment she existed "away" from the player really tortured her million times worse than an epilepsy. It was worse than the deepest ring of hell from Dante's inferno.

This is exactly how monika feels like in the game. Thanks so much for sharing us this in monika’s point of view. She suffered for not being cared and noticed by mc and was deeply in love with him/her killing everyone else to have mc for herself. Although she did wanted to make mc happy, even if it meant her not able to have a relationship with mc and reseting/deleting herself and game so he could be with those 3 other girls and be happy...even if monika didn’t make him happy no matter how hard she tried.
Thanks. That’s why monika is my favorite anime person in this game. It’s something we have in common.
