AC origins would be in my top 5 tbh. The amount of detail ubisoft shoved into that game is jaw dropping
As much as it’s beautiful and everyone raves about it I can’t get into it I left the place it drops you off and got completely obliterated by a wolf
I would blame skill issue for that, not the game, to be honest.@@cosyisconflicted
Tried multiple times to get into it... Must not be a rpg guy
@@johananj.j8003 I think if the put more effort into twerk mechanics instead of bogus level scaling that punishes exploration
@@colefellner5718 sorry Cole I didn’t know you were the gatekeeper of rpgs while defending the most casual rpgs ever
Anyone else feel like the tears of the kingdom wow moment had to be that first drop into the depths and that music certainly was for me
Great rating as always! Thx for the video
Just found your channel yesterday. Really Good 👌
I would love to see you rank Mega Man (either literally all of them or you could break down the different series like X or Classic), all of Metroid, and all the Castlevania games.
That would be nice
Hey Jonathan, have you ever played the Driver games? I was just thinking of a future ranking video idea I’d love to see of a franchise I grew up with. Driver, 2, Driv3r, Parallel Lines, San Francisco, etc. LOVE the videos keep it up! - CEMENT
Just started Elden Ring last night. Not a Souls player so I died like 30 times the first hour, but the exploration and recommendations like this really kept me going. Now it's starting to click a bit. I'm better at assessing the threats 😅.
Open World Games Are Spectacular
I only played 4 games on this list, but quite a few more open world games.
My favorite open world game of all time is Xenoblade Chronicles X. The alien worlds are amazing with top-notch art and sound design, and the atmosphere and cause of the world get me pumped; I love the whole feel of surviving with the last of the human race on a new alien planet. The real point is that the world is very likeable, you get attached to it, wowed by the exploration, into the the narrative drive to explore it and connect to what it reveals. XCX did that like no other for me. I really enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles 2 also, but not nearly as much (or as much as an open world game).
After that, it kind of depends on what you call "open world" or whether or not that's their strong suit, like Spider-man is a 10/10 game but the open world aspect isn't its strong suit. Likewise, Horizon has the distinction of being an actual excellent GAME (gameplaywise) to (say) The Witcher 3, RDR2, or Ghost of Tsushima but I didn't care about the characters and civilization and sometimes even the graphics feel a little stiff.
I haven't played TotK, but with Breath of the Wild, the problem is that the civilizations are kind of there but unimpressive. Like the feeling of desolation is actually kind of great and unique and makes it a great open world game, but then you get these little hints of civilization that are totally unimpressive and feel out of place: incredibly tiny little allusions to civilizations on a mostly empty wilderness. I didn't care for The Witcher 3 because man just about everyone in it is unlikable and not really interesting either -- kinda didn't care -- and the combat was repetitive and simple. The Witcher 3 thing is having an effect on the world which falls flat because I have little control of HOW Geralt goes about what path I pick after I go one way at one fork in the road. I don't care about the wives' tale fantasy stuff. Ghost of Tsushima, really repetitive, boring main character, and while it's beautiful . . . yeah have a few grassy fields!
So as far as "open world" is concerned, my next top pick would probably be RDR2. It had a solid theme of reconciling morality with survival and was a great walking simulator from that perspective of a bandit getting a bit more self-aware, BUT, people are right to say the second half is a train-wreck storywise. Breath of the Wild is also up there just because it has a great open world theme: you have one objective, and the game is open-ended about how you prep for that single objective. Forza Horizon 5 is great for the reasons you stated but it has SUCH horrible pop-in that it really spoils the experience for me, personally, so I prefer the previous 2 FH games.
Great video
Btw do you have to have played any other Zelda Game in Order to understand most of Tears of the Kingdom?
Funny how 3 of the games are from 2015😂
You could maybe say you have to play BoTW, but Tears Of The Kingdom is not really a sequel but more of a successor to BoTW. I would say no you could go into Tears Of The Kingdom as a first time Zelda player and you would be able to understand the story just about as well as someone who played BoTW or the other Zelda's.
Cement. That was such a treat man, i have played almost all of these games. So thats I would rank those i guess.
1. Elden Ring (only recently finished it and its my favourite game ever)
2. Ghost of Tsushima (not finished yet but its really great)
3. FF7 Rebirth (not played a lot but its superb)
4. Witcher 3 (played it for huge anounts of time but never finished it)
5. Fallout 4 (the game is awful on a technical aspect but still)
6. Red dead 2 (never finish)
7. Forza 5 (never finish)
8. Arkham knight (never finish)
Never played Tears of the kingdom or Like a Dragon
Love it man but gotta finish some of these!
@@TotallyTubularJonathan I sure will bro, it's just that most of those games are huge!
Cement and buildings. Great list.
Cement! Now that I’ve finished the video I think your choices are totally fair but I always gotta shout out Nier Automata as one of my all time favorite open world games. Elden Ring is the GOAT though no denying that. Only game that comes close for me is TOTK.
Arkham Knight was the first M Rated Batman Game one day I want a Live Action Rated R Batman Film that releases in movie theaters
You should make a 10 underrated games list
Red dead 2 the open world in that game was beautiful
Play Outer Wilds immediately, unironically clears all these games on several levels
Rdr2 should be number one lol
Cement + didn’t expect rebirth here
You should do a ranking video about tomb raider
Cement haha 😂 Have to agree with you about TOTK and Witcher 3 just fantastic open worlds! Looking forward to FF7 Rebirth down the road. Really like your videos watched your worst games ever list and laughed during it a lot!! 😎👌
i been playing dragons dogma 2. its pretty fun. it doesnt crash for me either.
For me my top three best open world games and my top three of best video games of all time is Batman Arkham Knight. Grand Theft Auto V and The Witcher 3
You should rank all of the Arkham games
I ranked them all twice! ua-cam.com/video/-AX34nzrWIc/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/RBmwG5ksCpU/v-deo.html
i'm really excited to play rebirth but i don't have a ps5 or a pc and i'm not going to get one probably, so thats a shame. hopefully it comes to xbox soon
No love for below the root c64? Classic!
1. Zelda
2. Elden Ring
3. Forza Horizon
4. Fallout 4
My top three Batman Arkham Knight Grand Theft Auto V and The Witcher 3
@@user-zd1oc3pz8s I don't disagree. Loved the Batman trilogy. Wish I got more into the Witcher 3!
I will forever love Elden Ring ❤💯😎🙏
You should rank all the assassin’s creed games
Discussed them twice! ua-cam.com/video/fMA0-YIa6C8/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/lDcARSeHVIs/v-deo.html
I like fallout 4 but you placing it above arkham knight makes me sad😢
Cement and Buildings 🙋🏻♂️ lol
I's put Cyberpunk and Forbidden West

You earned a subscription from me.
i dont think arkham knight is that good as an open world, you just go from mission to mission staring at the ground
Cement! Elden rings level design is so good, especially in the legacy dungeons, they’re so fun to navigate
I legit don't think there's a game you haven't played
Ubi$oft games..
Believe me theres tons lol
Cement
I'm done with COD. The $80 dollar bundle did it for me.
I'm on xbox, does anyone have a FPS replacement?
I've looked, but haven't found anything!
titanfall 2 trust me its one of the best fps ever you wont regret it.
RDR2 best gaming 👍👍
I just played rdr2 for the 1st time just a month ago. I didn’t game for years then when I did, I was under the Call of Duty addiction lol.. it’s crazy to think RDR2 is as old as it is-it truly puts current games to shame with the depth of interaction & details in environment.
Since the GTA VI trailer release I’ve noticed that (like my previous self) I was unaware of how much better RDR2 is compared to GTA 5. Then we found out GTA VI base fundamentals are based around RDR2 and that made me that much more excited for 2025 😂
Thanks for reading & I’d like to hear your thoughts
Metal Gear Solid 5 not on the list????
I think Elden ring should have been in the list
Yeah so lame it should have been on the list!
If i didn't like demon souls, will i like elden ring?
Probably, but I can't vouch for your taste. It-s a must try tho, regardless
souls fans dislike demon souls too lol
I would put Baldur's Gate 3. It's damn near perfect.
Also, the cement on the floor of the titular city is also top notch.
the elden ring glazing is INSANE you cannot tell me that barren wasteland has the number one spot. yes it is beautiful yes the combat is good but you cannot sit and lie to me and say elden ring is THE BEST open world game of all time. bffr.
It is tho
@@TS-td7pxthe open world is boring and empty
a hater is hater
The moment you put forza in this list is the moment your list died
I don't know why you hate Forza to be honest, or is the best open world game in the racing genre.
"I have not played every game."
Liar.
Forza over gta 😂
Unfortunately, Forza Horizon 5 is ruined by boring, unskippable cutscenes. These things go on for ages and are packed to the brim with terrible dialogue.
Another person with another generic list that’s just appeasing the masses for views.:. The only good open world game here on this list that wasn’t over rated is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Also at the end of the game the open world opens up to the full map so you are wrong on them being multiple open worlds when the game allows you to go from point a to point b with out any load screen, this opens up when you get to chapter 13 and have the tiny bronco to pilot the entire world with out a load screen.
I honestly don’t think someone just trying to crowd please would put Fallout 4 on this list, especially with how disliked Bethesda has been recently
Genuinely curious why you think some of the others aren’t good/are bad as well
What other games would you put in your top 10?
ff 7 rebirth is shit
Lol this guy 😂😂😂
