Hey Tommy, digging the tip. Hey, check this out if you want a really deep sounding marching drum try putting your snare drum on top of your floor Tom and then play it. Sounds deep as can be.
Interesting take on the snare roll by paul clarvis..one of Englands top players for film and stuff...talking about how the snare is played when they all have military style work_UA-cam search_ (Ralph Salmins & Paul Clarvis - Percussion On Fantastic Mr Fox - Manchester Percussion Day 2011) 40 years back when I knew Paul quite well he invited me to 'His Majesty's Theatre 'here in London's West End to sit in the pit and watch him play West Side Story! It seemed to me nothing he played related to the conductor at all? Paul joked 'he only thinks he's in charge'. I noted how he played some cue's with his foot resting on the bass drum:) would flick the music over with his drum stick whilst driving the band and then read a Famous Five book when not playing! Bernstein later personally took paul's phone number having conducted with him playing some of the tunes some time later! Nice one...thanks!
Another great succinct idea. What snare drum is that one? killer tuning and perfect crack/ringing combo. I see you have a wide snare band. i have a cob ludwig, but can't get that sound. Key is to tune it down a bit i guess?
Awesome ❤
