With the way the world is going the odds that me/you and our mates will be heading into a war one day is increasing, I don't want either side confronted with the hell on earth chemical/gas can do. Our forefathers who were much harder men than I saw this hell in WW1 and this in 1925 led to the Geneva Protocol, which prohibited the use of chemical weapons in warfare. Weapons & Delivery systems are 1000x better now than in the early 20th century.
On another point:
The Inability or refusal of the ICC (International Criminal Courts) in being able to have jurisdiction or maintain legitimacy I believe is a VERY slippery slope that leads to 'winning' parties effectively getting away with crimes of which laws they helped write, and expect their adversaries and allies to abide by.

Imagine Russia signing both Minsk Peace accords only to find that the EU partner states publicly admitting they had no intention of abiding by them and instead used them as a delaying tactic so they could arm Ukraine- so it could defeat its own population on the battlefield. When a fully NATO armed and trained army is ready to descend into the Donbass, let by NATO trained Nationalist units, Russia is accused of a "un-provoked and illegal" invasion.
Then, by the April after the illegal and unprovoked invasion (neither illegal nor unprovoked by NATO's own standard) an agreement was made and written up to end the fighting... Then Boris Johnson shows up telling Jewlensky not to sign it. Half-a-million dead Ukrainians later, it's Russia that's being accused of being untrustworthy.
Perfectly shows the first parts of the war. Ottawa citizen nov8 2021 shows Canada training Azov complete with German WW2 symbols on helmets. But it never happened...unless you look up operation unifier which sates Canada training Ukrainians to attack Russia since 2015 and sending arms since 2014. . Nope no nato involvement, you have nothing to worry about from the west...

Well it supported the "Maidan Coup" which overthrew the democratically elected President Yanukovich, even Victoria Nuland going around handing out cookies to the murderous mob. Then it trained encouraged and armed the Ukrainian army and built it up to the biggest army in Europe after Turkey. Then NATO leaders encouraged Ukraine to attack the people of the Donbas in order to provoke the Russians.

After the U.S. supplied Ukraine banned cluster munitions, it loses any moral right to lecture Russia about banned substances.
It is somewhat ironic to hear the Ukrainians talking about negotiating in good faith seeing all the details that have come out regarding the Minsk-agreement, and the negotiations in Turkey.

After Ukraine started using cluster munitions and anti-personnel mines in civilian areas, I don't think any laws of war apply anymore. Russia is free to use any kind of weapons, including nuclear and neutron bombs. Crying about tear gas is laughable at this point.
I agree with you in general. But, since it has been proven that the Syrian army did not use any chemical weapons whatsoever against the jihadists it's quite obvious that it's another US lie that Russia used them as well.

the russians actually slowed their advance and likely their troops exhausted or low on ammo. they gotta get supplies up that narrow railway without getting hit by artillery and fpv drones , ammo food, water, medicine etc. likely not many getting through.

The United States has consistently taken the (minority) position that the 1925 Geneva Protocol does not apply to tear gas. The Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) does not treat tear gas as a banned chemical weapon, instead classifying it as a riot control agent (RCA). US policy is to allow tear gas for defense use.
I remember reading about the US use of tear gas in Afghanistan. I don't know how defensive that was.

About a year ago i saw a video of a drone dropping a granade with some kind of gass on 2 people with red armbands in a river. Before the granade dropped the video showed one of the dudes trying to help his friend that looked like was hurt. When the granade dropped on the target it just left a gass cloud, and the dude helping his friend paniced and started "running" in deep water until he just fell over face down into the river. So im guessing they are using deadly gass in those granades....

Chloropicrin was used in some Tear Gas type products. Those formulations were very weak in terms of active ingredient percentage. If memory serves, the U.S. used this gas to clear tunnels in South Vietnam. Chloropicrin was registered in the U.S. (at least up until sometime in the 1990s) as a restricted use pesticide. It was used primarily as a grain fumigant, but also as a soil and structural fumigant. I believe it was used on the West coast for dry wood termite control.

the BUK that got hit was not actually a BUK launcher, it was a reloading vehicle (its why it has the crane on it next to the missile racks)
the launcher was the one next to it with the big frontal dome on it, and was not carrying any missiles. probably getting ready to be reloaded.
