Winamp and Foobar have been favorites for many years now. For "getting" music, check out Soulseek, it's the best. And if you have a huge library of music(mine's 150 gigs) and want to organize everything, and have artwork: Musicbrainz Picard.
I only got to 3,300 Hertz on the sound test thanks to childhood "friends" who always had amazing sound gear in their cars and would sometimes turn the volume so high that I could not hear myself screaming for them to turn it down. But at least they got a good laugh. And on the downside I cannot hear smoke alarms. :(

I have Tinnitus in both ears, I also have ear wax problems (too much), am pushing 59, and served in the Surface Navy for 10 active years, and went to quite a few concerts and loud bars back in the day. Result in typical apartment setting? +/- 7500HZ avg depending on speakers or headphones! :(
