    Toby, this and your previous video on the Blues Cube Hot have me GASSING for this amp. Great job covering nearly any question conceivable about the amp's tone and versatility!

    Nice to see the Blackstar Dual on a board! It is so underrated. If you accept a humble recommendation: Put a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster in front of it (actually the SD PU-Booster HAS to be always first in the chain) and see what happens. Thanks for the video and the nice playing.

    Man, with your two vids on this amp, you answered every question I've had. So happy to see a demo that demonstrates using the guitar's volume control. No one else out there has demonstrated using overdrive pedals with this amp. On top of that, you even demo'd tone stacking! Most importantly, YOU BOUGHT THE AMP and it's not a freebie review/commercial. Great playing, stay safe, get back on stage soon. Peace.

    18 months ago I bought a vox AC 10 I had very high expectations of this gorgeous little amp but it ended up being to loud for home and to quiet for gigs and it hated all my drive pedals! Lt and ht dual included!! So I sent it back and got a boss katana problem solved
    Didn't need any drive pedals either
    Be nice to hear the Helix

    haha awesome!
    I have the BCH, and have almost same pedals. I have the Mini TS, I have a blackstar LT Drive and the Boss EQ 7.
    I love how it sounds with the TS alone, and the Blackstar with the TS. And this is just me, but also use the Boss EQ 7 as a booster, although what I do, since the TS adds mids, I lower the mids just a bit and lower just a bit the volume to play more rythms (I have the TS on most times), and when I deactivate the eq pedal then it increases the signal and mids, and so far it works great for me for leads.
    But I just like very much how the BCH takes pedals as well.

      Well the Blues Cube Artist model that I'm using does have an FX loop, but I didn't use it for this video. I'm aware the cheaper Stage model is lacking a loop, which is what made me go for the artist in the end! 👍

    I love the clean tone at the beginning of this video but for some reason I can’t replicate it on my BC Stage, even using your exact settings. Yours has a lot more dirt/break up. Mine is crystal clear but no breakup. The only way I can get mine somewhat close to yours is by enabling boost, cranking the clean volume to 12 and playing hard. Even then, yours sounds more dirty. Any idea why? Is it just a difference between the stage and the artist?

    • @tobypearson7622
      @tobypearson7622  11 місяців тому

      That's a strange problem... Which input are you plugged into? I was using 'high', so if you're in the 'low' input try that instead. And which guitar are you using? If you've got pretty low output pickups then it won't be hitting the amp as hard and therefore won't break up much?
      And just to be clear in case I'm misunderstanding - did you mean the tone I had from the first sound of the amp, or the background music? I recorded that guitar part for the music through my helix, so it's a pretty different clean amp tone with different settings!

    Very surprised with the settings on the amp. Live I would not cut very well with the bass any more than 3. Mids and Treb boosted. I guess this just illustrates how different home and studio playing actually is.

    Hey, great demonstration there dude!! Loved it.....can you help me out wid a little query of mine🙄
    I am owning Roland Blues Cube Hot 30 Watt amplifier that has a built in "Line out" option and " USB" record output option. Since I don't own any PA or recording interface , would like to know if you hv tried the USB 2.0 recording option?
    Does it produce good quality sound and how much is the latency?
    Plz suggest 🙄🤗
    Thanks in advance.✌️

    • @tobypearson7622
      @tobypearson7622  4 роки тому +2

      Hey! So, I don't use the USB recording output really, however I have heard that it sounds great! As far as any potential latency, make sure that whatever software you're using to record with has appropriate buffer settings, as well as a sample and bit rate to allow everything to run smoothly, but at a high enough quality... You should be aiming for no more than around 10 milliseconds of latency, or less if your system can take it.
      If you're using a Windows computer, make sure you download the latest drivers too! I imagine they'll be available from the Roland website? Failing that just Google it! 🙂
      My advice for future would be to invest in an interface, as they can be very handy for giving you further recording solutions. 👍 There are some great affordable options out there!
      Hope this helps!

      @@tobypearson7622 bdw what budget level interface and mic would you suggest.... Since you are into it plz provide me suggestions if you may... Also why don't u do a video depicting a demo of the interface😉

    • @tobypearson7622
      @tobypearson7622  4 роки тому +2

      Well as far as which mic and interface you go for, it depends on your needs... But for a lot of things I like using the Rode NT1A! Very versatile, I use it for vocals, acoustic guitars, micing guitar amps... And it sounds great! Otherwise grab a Shure SM58 or an SM57, both equally versatile in my opinion! 👍
      Interface wise, the behringer U-Phoria series is good for the money. If you're using a condenser mic like the Rode I mentioned above, make sure whatever interface you use has phantom power! (+48V)
      I shall certainly try and get around to a demo of the USB recording output on the Blues Cube, if that's what you meant? Especially if that's something more people would like to see/hear! 🙂

    Thanks for a couple of great videos regarding the BluesCube.
    I’m thinking about getting a BC Hot or a Boss Nextone Stage but can’t decide which one to get. I have tried the Nextone, but can’t find a BC Hot to try out. It will be used as a home practice amp with my pedalboard. Any advice on which to get?

    Thanks for the demo ! I just got a Cube stage and I have a question if I may : do you plug the pedalboard into the High input or the low input of the amp ? ( I use a strat too ) . Cheers from France

    • @tobypearson7622
      @tobypearson7622  4 роки тому +1

      Well it depends on the tone you're going for and what's on your board, but personally for a strat I always go high input! 👍

    • @JohnsDough1918
      @JohnsDough1918 3 роки тому +1

      In my experience, the low input works well if you want to tame higher output pickups (as stated in the manual, if I'm not mistaken). It depends how much you want to push the front end of the amp, or how soon you want it to distort. Pedals will sound just as good on both inputs.
      The low input is a fair bit darker though, but nothing the EQ can't handle.

    • @tobypearson7622

    hello Toby..... i have the blues cube stage in mind... its almost the same as yours but devoid of the effects send return... how big of a deal is that for you? is an effects loop really necessary?

    • @tobypearson7622
      @tobypearson7622  3 роки тому +1

      I tend to use the FX loop if I'm planning on using the drive channel a lot and have time based FX (delay/reverb etc) to use. If that stuff goes in the front end of the amp into the drive channel, then it can get messy... (you might like how it sounds though!)
      However, if you get your drive tones from pedals into the clean channel, you won't need the FX loop really! 👍

    • @davidhaolai
      @davidhaolai 3 роки тому +1

      @@tobypearson7622 a million thanks for the prompt response..... i think clean and warm overdrive sounds the best in this roland blues cube amongst all competition... i plan to use a DS-2 & fuzz (with a lil onboard reverb) for drive & for cleans a boss RV6 for shimmer and delays (without engaging the drive/dist pedals here).
      im torn between this and the katana mk ii 100. Granted that the Kat (as fanboys like to call it) is damn versatile and you can get hundreds of tones...... but thats the trap.
      i have used a multi effect processor before (Pod X3 live) and I remember all i did was tweaking to find the sound that line 6 claimed to deliver, and somehow i could never achieve that.... it robbed me of my time which should have been spent in playing and composing... hence i need a sound which will inspire me..... many thanks again mate.....
