THESE VIDEOS ARE RE-UPLOADS FROM MY MAIN CHANNEL. But I love and appreciate the love from you guys it really means a lot. There will be more video's soon on both my main and this channel. just trying to find time doing both haha. thank you guys again so much for this!
Just watched your reach video earlier! You’ve earned a sub for sure! Amazing content, you encapsulated everything I remember feeling when I first played this game.
Bro the 2nd sentence of this comment literally defines what halo multiplayer with friends is bro. Absolutely amazing, hate when someone eats pizza and gets my controller stick drift tho lol. RIP, Halo, the best game franchise ever
Humanity using it's super soldiers as canon fodder for suicide missions is so cool. It really highlights the threat the Covenant pose. Even our super soldiers are expected to die for humanity.
40mins? Posted a day ago? No comments? Bro I hope that has not discouraged your work. You have 24 subscribers (after i post this comment, youll have 25). This was a great video man. Great audio quality. Long form content like this is hard to suck the zoomers in but I assure you it has an audience. Me and my buddies are all grown up in our 30s and we still talk about literally this. Gaming used to be incredibly special. There was a golden age of gaming. And i truly think it was ushered in by Halo 2. But can never put my finger on where it ended.. sometime around when the ps4/xb1 came out. The Order 1886 was the canary in the coal mine. I sound like a boomer but I truly dont think my nephews and late zoomers truly know, to no fault of their own, what they missed out on. Gaming was great. And your channel will be. Cheers.
I have the exact same feeling and I can not imagine games being as memorable as to the golden times. Though I have to admit I do believe it is also because it were the stories that shaped our childhood/puberty. These escapes have different weight as for me a least they made living a lot more bearable and offered an excellent quality escape. Who knows future/present generations will have their memories about games played nowadays as well, I find it hard to imagine but there has to be some game checking the same boxes made being now.
I’m on my 100th playthrough of ODST. I wish they would’ve done just spin-offs with different perspectives of the war, especially the first couple years.
I've been a diehard Halo fan since I was a preteen on the original Xbox and I agree completely about ODST being a gut punch the first time. Id read all the books up to the point that ODST came out and I already loved them in the game but that opening cutscene and the "We Are ODST" trailer really makes the goosebumps crawl. Side note, it's amazing how the We Are ODST trailer tells such a good story in a couple minutes and absolutely immerses you.
Glad to see ODST back on my home page, great video on a great game i always passed up as a kid. Now i can say wholeheartedly l love throwing on ODST on day off and bonus points if its actually raining IRL , just adds to the immersion!
I still think Bungie splitting from Microsoft was such a dumb decision. Halo has such a vast and rich universe with so many stories to tell that don’t involve Master Chief. There’s no wonder why ODST and Reach are my favorite games from the series, I’ve been in need of something like them for too long.
30:00 if you collect all 29 terminals on Mombasa streets this dialogue changes... If you grab the 30th entry in this level the intro to the engineer changes too.
(Copy and paste of a comment I posted on a different ODST video. I just didn’t feel like retyping this) ODST might be one of my favorite Halos because I really enjoyed experiencing the Human Covenant War from a different perspective. Bungie did a phenomenal job with the way the story was presented, adding small details, and other things of making you feel like a normal human in a story sense. Unfortunately, the gameplay falls flat since you don’t play like a normal human, and it was basically just diet Halo 3. It should’ve been a tactical shooter with a fleshed out stealth system that required you to really weigh your options instead of running head first into a fight. The “silenced” weapons weren’t actually quiet and would still alert enemies of your presence. Stamina was just reskinned shields that allowed you to easily tank and recover from damage (Reach has the best health system where it will partially regenerate if you go long enough without taking damage). In an early build of Halo 3 Bungie had prototyped a leaning around cover mechanic that was scrapped because they didn’t think it felt right to have in the game where you’re supposed to be a walking tank. Why they didn’t take that same mechanic and implement it into a game where it would’ve fit perfectly is beyond me. Another big disappointment comes from the fact that we weren’t fighting any Elites. Those should’ve been the main enemy for most of the game, with the Brutes appearing in the last few flashback and night missions. They wouldn’t have had to change the story that much, and could’ve had your squad use the ensuing chaos as the perfect opportunity to collect Virgil and escape the city. Just imagine how awesome it would’ve been to experience the Great Schism from the perspective of a normal human. It would add more enemy variety into the mix, and allow for the three way fights we see in other Halos. Something else they should’ve done in addition to having Brutes and Elites fight alongside each other before butchering each other was to overhaul the lesser Covenant (Grunts, Drones, and Jackals). Brutes and Elites should’ve been more akin to mini bosses, with the lesser Covenant being your equals/close lessers. There’s a lot of small things they could’ve done to buff the enemies, while keeping true to what made them work in the original trilogy. If I could have any Halo it would be a remake of ODST that addresses these issues. Unfortunately, a lot of people would meltdown over this because it changes up the gameplay and would retcon the story. Even though that would be an example of a good retcon (like when they blatantly changed the Covenant knowing Halo is a weapon in CE to having them grossly misunderstand its purpose in 2 onwards), and Bungie falsely advertised ODST as being a more tactical experience with stealth elements. Plus, they originally sold the game for $60 back in the day and gave us a glorified level pack. I had a lot of fun with Firefight and the campaign, but it should’ve been more.
Absolutely wonderful film, probably one of the best small gems I've seen on UA-cam, considering the visual material being limited to basically gameplay footage.
ODST is probably my second favorite Halo game after CE. My one gripe with it is the scale of everything is wildly off and it really bothers me. All weapons, especially Covenant weapons, should look massive in the ODST's hands. Enemies should tower over you. Brutes are canonically 9 ft tall. Jackels are over 6 ft. Hunters are over 12 ft tall. Yet they hardly look any different from when you play as Chief. I'm certain Bungie scaled down every model in the game to compensate for the player character's reduced size. Love the game though regardless. I just have to ignore the scale of everything.
Like what @Phillibetrus said, if you collect all of the audio logs, the cop makes it all the way to sub level nine with you and his dialogue/ending plays out differently. Also in the intro to the engineer cutscene the Rookie moves ahead of Dare and whistles the Superintendent’s chime to the engineer to coax it out of hiding
I miss the Times when Gaming was Good, not full of Greed or Woke Ideological Insanity. But those Days are Gone now. Instead of being an Escape from this Shitty Reality we just get more of it Shoved into our Faces with the Modern Gaming Industry that is Infected with Woke Ideology and Greed. I don't think that there is a Single AAA Game that isn't Infested with Microtransactions, Live Service Models, Online Only, Shut Up and give me your Money, you are going to Accept the Woke Ideology and Like It, or anything else that had Destroyed Gaming. Games are Sweat Fests, Try Hards, and Skill Issues so get Good Scrub Horse Shit. People can't talk to each other anymore either.
It’s good to see someone I don’t agree with politically, refraining from volatility. However the inclusion of your opinion on social issues is irrelevant to the subject. Maybe you know that and it was purely just a virtue signal. Corporations obviously do this too, but it’s about sales. That’s the agenda. And yes 343 is trash, but not because women work there, or because LGBTQ people dared to simple exist. It’s because capitalism has all but ruined the AAA gaming industry. Contractors are cycled in and out like it’s musical chairs. All in the name of profit. And the result is nearly always trash. No one is to blame but the corporate cunts at the top. Won’t be watching the rest of the video, but I’m sure it’s up to snuff with any other Halo nostalgia farm. If you want higher retention and feedback outside the echo chamber, consider keeping the social commentary to yourself. We can definitely agree that ODST was and still is a fantastic game! Cheers.
Quality of stories have been drastically diminished because of the forced inclusion of Woke ideology. I never said that companies are worse because women or people with different sexual or gender identities work there or simply exist. Yes there are problems with capitalism and part of that has shown that people have been forced to take up and embrace radical philosophies because they want to make more money . That part we agree on.

Games died when physical media died... it gave these people an easy way out to fix the game later. With that come extra laziness.
Thats a good point 🤔 never thought of it that way
