While not included in the official press release, Flatpanelshd report that these new 45″ screens will offer a native 165Hz refresh rate at 5120 x 2160, with the ability then to double the refresh rate to 330Hz if you lower the resolution by half to 2560 x 1080. It’s not clear at this stage what combinations will be available if you want to run in 16:9 aspect ratio. The native 165Hz refresh rate seems sensible given we knew there were panels of this spec in plan from LG.Display. It’s likely that 240Hz refresh rate panels will follow at a later date, which

I have the LG 45 Oled 3440x1440 and when buying it, the only thing I regretted is that it was not in 5120x2160. I’m looking forward to seeing the CES2025 for the price announcement as the LG 45 Oled 5K2K will replace it. That is when, it will depend on the release price
That's not 240Hz, only 165Hz. It does have a 330Hz mode but the resolution goes down all the way to 1080p. They also don't even specify the bandwidth of the DisplayPort 2.1, and usually that means it's not the full 80Gbps, otherwise they usually make sure to market that. Not a bad monitor, but far from dream--like.
the monitor need around 60gbps for 5120 x 2160 at 165 Hz with 10-bit color and HDR, uhbr 13.5 is 54gbps so either they use dsc or they have the full 80 which is likely the case considering lg always put the maximum spec in their port like their tv or older oled monitor with full hdmi2.1

@@exob0b In its own way. High refresh rate (and more so variable refresh rate) makes a big difference in smoothness and contributes to faster response time. These things definitely improve the experience. TN panels are fast as LCDs go, but tend to have poor viewing angles and overall image quality. 21:9 or higher, also gives you much better periferal vision. OLEDs have high speed, image quality and excellent viewing angles. So, an OLED 21:9 would be a pretty mind blowing upgrade, even if the refresh rate is the same. Even one of the current 34". Models would be a step up in size, too. A 34" 21:1 is the same height as a 27" 16:9

This is pretty close to my ideal monitor. If they can get a glossy QD-OLED version, I'm sold. I'm not keen on upgrading atm though as I already have the 32" 4k 240Hz Alienware QD OLED.
if they could do a 45” oled in 6820x2880 that would be perfect for productivity. I am dying for such a monitor. I have an IPS Black 40” 5K/2K and it’s awesome but just slightly not enough pixels for work. I feel like I still want a 2nd monitor but an entire second monitor is too much, and makes the desk setup ugly. Going from 40 to 45” with a proportional increase in pixels would be perfect. That keeps the pixel density around 160ppi which is perfect for reading text at native resolution, and would have enough extra pixels to replace dual 4K monitors. And OLED would let me run all my apps in a much darker dark mode for a much more comfortable working experience. Ultimate productivity monitor. Really wish they’d keep the pixel density higher :( they can already make the pixels! Just make the panel bigger!
I asked an AI to calculate this (quite complex math lol), and it's about 36" for typical 16:9 content (since it is a 45" 21:9 display) so pretty large, 4 inches larger diagonally than a normal 32" 16:9 display.
Hmm I like a 5K monitor with dual mode. But real 5K, not this ultra-wide thing. If anything I would want it 16:10. So a little extra height instead of extra width. And then dual mode to switch between 1440p/ 1600p and the 5K resolution. If I want more width I think a multi-monitor setup is the way to go.
@simonsutters5420 yes, I am saying I would like to see a 5K monitor like this. Most hardware can not run 4K or 5K on high framerates anyway. But they can run it on reasenable framerates (30/ 60) and then can run 1440P on higher framerates. So if you have a 5K monitor with Dual mode, you can use the 5K for productivity or games where looks are more important then high framerates. And you can switch to 1440P for high framerates. With 4K a dual mode option puts you at 1080P. In addition I still hope for the return of 16:10 ratio. Also, they call this monitor 5K🤷🏻♂️
Really need samsung to drop a very similar form size miniled. I work from home heavy productivity lots of static images and applications for long hours. A 5k2k 45" miniled is my end game for mixed used case. OLED still doesnt hit the mark for us business users who want to game in the evening.
I have a completely light controlled gaming room. (DARK). No GLOSSY no sale. I have a Sammy G9 Oled now. 1000 or 1200 curve would be good. 800 is a little too curved but my 1800 is not enough.
I agree, after seeing the 800r curve at Best buy can't see myself using it Hell I use my c2 in ultra wide mode and the lack of curve is pretty tolerable although I would prefer some curve. I think I would be fine with 1800R or 1200R
This monitor is listed as 165hz native at 5k2k and 330hz@2160x1080p for custom resolution and matte (confirmed by LG and TFTCentral). When the 39inch comes out i will be buying day one. 45 inch was way too big for me when i tested it.
@@thedisplayguy agreed, just having that resolution is enough for me as well haha. I dont notice much difference from playing at 175hz to 240 already on the MSI 341CQPX. Cant wait for this year with oled, finally 5k ultrawide!!!
That's a shame actually, since you won't be able to do electron beam simulation (basically panel native mprt at a lower refresh rate without costing so much brightness as BFI), though this was expected at this resolution.
Give me a 480hz 4k OLED with rolling scan blur reduction technology because its a hardware based blur reduction technology on OLED and it doesn't cut the refresh rate half to improve motion clarity like ASUS BFI technology.
@@ctrl.s3565 maybe it just slightly helps to run it at 240 or less but going through a 480hz monitor kind of helps for the pro's? Like isn't it supposed to be slightly better to play at 60fps on a 120hz monitor(if you can't get past 60fps due to the card)?

For racing sims like Iracing ultra wide is amazing. However, for first person shooters or MMO's a 32" flat screen is MUCH more desirable. Just the facts, dont believe the hype yall!
Boy please the ultrawide that everyone's been waiting for you mean the same kids that claimed to have high-end gpus and PCs they don't even make enough money to live on their own
Depends how deep ur desk is. My desk is 42" deep. Currently have a 55 on my desk but considering a 83" oled as my next display and just putting it on a seperate stand and then just placing my desk at the desires position
It should be possible to manufacture. 13"-17" 4K oled laptops do exist. While I am not surprised that there is no gaming 4K 24", you made me wonder why there is generally not a single gaming 24-25" oled. It should be fantastic for first person shooters. 27" 4k gaming oleds only just entered the market. Perhaps we will see 24" non-4k gaming oleds at CES.
Matte is not anti-reflective - it’s quite the opposite as it ALWAYS picks up off axis light. Glossy does not. This is a fact. When will people realize this? And for glossy, so long as the display is sufficiently lit, direct reflections disappear.
When there is black screen or in dark scenes the lowest amount of light will produce a reflection, I can see my Xbox controller led reflection And I have to turn off my second Monitor because the light hitting me makes my reflection appear on the glossy screen. I have to turn off my RGB as well On the matt screen I don't have that problem, though when there are big white areas I can see the grain.
Please don't tell me that it's matte. I have been waiting years for a 5120x2160 glossy OLED gaming monitor only for it to be matte. What the fuck are they thinking? There better be a glossy version soon after.
what are you hearing about it and 8k in general? I've started looking into it recently as I realized with my backlog I only play decade old games so I could probably have fun with an 8k tv. I bought an old tcl 8k but it was dead out of the box and now I'm waiting on the refund.

I'm all in on this monitor so long as it's not too matt. Gloss is king!
Matt screens are for office buildings, this is not an office building display.
Why don’t they make 2 variants for a glossy and matte version of a monitor..
Ive waited like forever for this exact Monitor and got the aw3225qf a month ago because i thought we will never get one 😭
This will be my second monitor. I switched from 34GP83A-B to a pg32ucdm and i really miss my wide-screen for certain games. Can't wait 😂😂😂
So it is a 45 inch, or 45 ultrawide means 32?
I asked an AI to calculate this (quite complex math lol), and it's about 36" for typical 16:9 content (since it is a 45" 21:9 display) so pretty large, 4 inches larger diagonally than a normal 32" 16:9 display.
Hmm I like a 5K monitor with dual mode. But real 5K, not this ultra-wide thing.
If anything I would want it 16:10. So a little extra height instead of extra width.
And then dual mode to switch between 1440p/ 1600p and the 5K resolution.
If I want more width I think a multi-monitor setup is the way to go.
Its not 5K, its 2160P(4K)
@@jp_8988 ah sorry got it.
I need this 1800R curved. QD OLED and 40”
Really need samsung to drop a very similar form size miniled. I work from home heavy productivity lots of static images and applications for long hours. A 5k2k 45" miniled is my end game for mixed used case. OLED still doesnt hit the mark for us business users who want to game in the evening.
Almost had a dream monitor here, but they added the anti-glare coating. RIP.
Is there any 6k 16:9 monitors in the pipeline. I love ultrawide but 16:9 is dope too!
I have a completely light controlled gaming room. (DARK). No GLOSSY no sale. I have a Sammy G9 Oled now. 1000 or 1200 curve would be good. 800 is a little too curved but my 1800 is not enough.
I agree, after seeing the 800r curve at Best buy can't see myself using it
Hell I use my c2 in ultra wide mode and the lack of curve is pretty tolerable although I would prefer some curve. I think I would be fine with 1800R or 1200R
dual mode on one of these bad boys would be goated
Pretty much end game. Cant wait. Heres hoping its nice $4,000 or something
This monitor is listed as 165hz native at 5k2k and 330hz@2160x1080p for custom resolution and matte (confirmed by LG and TFTCentral). When the 39inch comes out i will be buying day one. 45 inch was way too big for me when i tested it.
165Hz is good enough for me 👍
@@thedisplayguy agreed, just having that resolution is enough for me as well haha.
I believe you mean 2560x1080
Why is it so low? Samsung has a 7680x2160 monitor that does 240hz
I'm going to get two of the LG 5K2K monitors, 45" for the main PC and 34" for the bedroom.
And none for the bathroom?
What about the kitchen bro don't forget the kitchen
Give me a 480hz 4k OLED with rolling scan blur reduction technology because its a hardware based blur reduction technology on OLED and it doesn't cut the refresh rate half to improve motion clarity like ASUS BFI technology.
bro wtf are you going to be playing that can hit anywhere close to 480fps on a 4k ultrawide
Refresh rate listed as 165 Hz on LG Korea's press release for this, so likely not 240
i just got the Xeneon flex last blackfriday for $1000, if they price this new LG better than the $1999 price its at retail il return the xeneon but it will be probably be more expensive North of $2500 for the 5k resolution and potential dual mode
Its not 5K resolution mate, its 2160P(4K)
can 4090 handle this monitor?
Yes. I play on a 65inch samsung q70r
@@ddogbeast9412 that's not 8k, just 4k.
@@trauma50disaster1 who said anything about 8k
To be honest, the 125PPI makes me prefer the 32 inch 4k more. Text clarity is important. The matte coating also doesn't help.
maybe someone could get a matte removal business going, they certainly have a market thanks to LG
Please come out with a 480hz oled 30-32" 4k monitor so that our $2700 5080's can have something to move.
For racing sims like Iracing ultra wide is amazing. However, for first person shooters or MMO's a 32" flat screen is MUCH more desirable. Just the facts, dont believe the hype yall!
i hope they make their tv's bendy too.. for the peeps who like bigger 16:9 as a monitor
can we expect 32 inch 4K 480hz oleds in 2025?
or at least 32 inch 4K with 350nits? right now they are all around 250nits right
Boy please the ultrawide that everyone's been waiting for you mean the same kids that claimed to have high-end gpus and PCs they don't even make enough money to live on their own
It must be fate that one of the 38" LG monitors in the house was destroyed by our cat (don't ask) last week.
need one from another company with KVM switch
why the hell couldnt they just make it glossy
I just got an LG oled on Nov 21
nice point, we easily understand the concepts you are explaining to us, masterful explanation
Matte coatings are trash. They should sell an optional film to put over top if you want matte.
At that resolution, 39'' would be better, i found 45'' too big on a desk, but ok for sim
Depends how deep ur desk is. My desk is 42" deep.
Currently have a 55 on my desk but considering a 83" oled as my next display and just putting it on a seperate stand and then just placing my desk at the desires position
I just want a 24 inch 4K monitor at 480Hz with a decent looking stand... WHY can't I have it.
Samsung neo G9 57 is duel 4K get your info right
I HAVE BEEN WAIIIITTTTIIIINNNNNGGGGGGG LESSS GOOOOOO JUS GOT PAAAIIIIDDDDDD
Matte is not anti-reflective - it’s quite the opposite as it ALWAYS picks up off axis light. Glossy does not. This is a fact. When will people realize this?
And for glossy, so long as the display is sufficiently lit, direct reflections disappear.
When there is black screen or in dark scenes the lowest amount of light will produce a reflection,
I can see my Xbox controller led reflection
And I have to turn off my second Monitor because the light hitting me makes my reflection appear on the glossy screen.
I have to turn off my RGB as well
On the matt screen I don't have that problem, though when there are big white areas I can see the grain.
Definitely need a4080- 5090 to power this beast
Please don't tell me that it's matte. I have been waiting years for a 5120x2160 glossy OLED gaming monitor only for it to be matte. What the fuck are they thinking? There better be a glossy version soon after.
hmpf now when i've got a 4k 16:9 oled display they bring finally 4k 21:9 out 😒😒
i want this on 38-40 inches
Guys its mot fully matte good lord people o have the 32 its not like the old matte screens its beautiful
Waiting on the 8K LG OLED 57”… I’d pay anything to replace the Samsung 57”.
what are you hearing about it and 8k in general? I've started looking into it recently as I realized with my backlog I only play decade old games so I could probably have fun with an 8k tv. I bought an old tcl 8k but it was dead out of the box and now I'm waiting on the refund.
This magical question is how much will it cost?🤔
No glossy no buy
You need bigger dreams. How about a 65" 8K OLED
that's nice, but it's not ultrawide, and is not suitable for gaming at a desk couple feet away.
@@kake52 Yes it is I do it myself. I use a 65" Samsung QN900B 8K TV as my daily monitor. I can never go back to anything smaller or less resolution, you don't know what you're missing.
@@badpuppy3 it all depends how far you sit from the display and how much room you have. I currently have a 27" 4k 160hz and would loooove love like a 40" 8k 120+hz or something, for my space 65" would be too large and impractical and uncomfortable to use with too much head movement
I'm dreamin that, how is the pc gaming? I play old games and figure I'll see the difference, what is your thoughts?
whats the price
Ahhahahahaha finally, I've been looking for these bois all day
Too many pixels! Give us 1800p @ 45" ultrawide please!!! That will just be a 56% increase in pixel count rather than 125% which will hurt fps too much!
Just use upscaling.
Nice tv
It's objectively not a 4k ultrawide. 4k = approximately 4,000 pixels horizontally (3,840 close enough).
This is 5120x2160 so it's a 5k ultra wide.
It's literally says 5k2k monitor in the advertising
100% FALSE.
5120 x 2160 = 4K Ultrawide which = 21:9 aspect ratio.
This is NOT a 5K monitor whatsoever. LG is misleading naive fools like you with their bullshit "5K2K" marketing crap.
🤣🤣🤣
@@mitchelldoub8488 Which is FALSE because this isn't a 5K display in any way shape or form.
It doesn't have the total pixel count of 5K resolution.
5120 x 2160 = 4K Ultrawide.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M it's not false at all. It has 5120 pixels, therefore it is 5k. 5k does not mean 2880 pixels tall. It's a 5k ultra wide.
