- In this video I show you how I make a simple hexagonal box out of sterling silver. This is actually only part one the box is made, part two will be finishing the box and embellishing it.
It would have been helpful for most of us that do not have that hexagonal form to bend around to know how you would proceed with making that shape.
Such a beautiful box! Thank you for sharing this!❤
Thank you for the excellent lesson! I am learning a lot about the finer points of jewelry fabrication from your videos.
Glad it was helpful!
Feel free to scribe to see more videos as I make them.
Pat, thank you for posting this great box project. I have drilled a 3mm hole in my bench pin just past the back/inside of the "V" (and a couple of other places too) I have cut into it (like yours). I have a short piece of heavy brass wire (3mm) that I insert where I need it when I need a brace to butt up sheet that I am sawing so it doesn't keep sliding up and putting all the strain in my holding hand. Hope that's a helpful tip. 😊
Nice I learned that a hexagonal box is a six sided box thanks
Great work again. Looking forward to the embellishments episodes too
Very nice sir
Wonder if I can incorporate this technique for a bezel with a stone of the same shape? Drives me nuts trying
It is tough but it can be done, yes. Be careful if the stone is different heights you will have to adjust the bezel to take the difference in levels of the cabochon to make the bezel fit and look right.
Hi what gauge do you use for the sheet metal?
for that I believe I used 18 gauge sterling but 20 would work too.
Der Deckel gehört bombiert.
