The vocalist, Jake Noakes, said that this was one of his worst performances ever and he's embarrassed that it was recorded. This was their last day of tour, they traveled 36 hours to get to just this show, and there was a huge language barrier between him and the sound guy. Jake is an amazing vocalist, this show was a bad fluke.

Yeah, tour life can be hard... It's why only the best persist and bring the energy EVERY time! I'm still an OAA fan for life, their guitars are, in my opinion, some of the most technical in the genre. They're still an inspiration to me.
Chris is an absolute beast. How he sustains that power, speed and precision for the whole set, I don't know.
He isnt even working a 10th as hard as jinjers drummer at this same show

I think his in ears were causing problems also

I thought the same. They did this after tour and still did all parts but Jake is always struggling to sing what he recorded. That's sad cause he does the screams and it proves it's not a sound matter. It's definitely him unable to sing those parts. Anyhow, he sounds better here than in other live videos I've seen.
Sounds like an excuse. People pay good money to see any musician..if you cant play at 100% then cancel. Refund the tickets, and Not play a shit show. Not that this show is shit. Except the vocalist. This dude just isnt right. Screams And singing AND stage presence are not acceptable(in my opinion)

I love how all the high notes in hansha he turns away and doesn’t sing it at all 😂
I guess I’m one of the few, but I’ve been a fan for awhile and I don’t see anything wrong with the vocals. For touring he did the highs and lows well. He’s a lot better than a lot of live vocalists. My opinion he even sang the cleans pretty well in most of the songs except when he kept pulling the mic from his face. I think he’s just not confident in what he is capable of yet. I don’t think he sounds bad when you can hear him.

Everytime he has to sing a high or loud clean note he strategically pulls the mic away from his mouth to mute it. Thats what it looks like anyway. Good on the harsh vocals though.

Looks like he needs someone to fuckn help him out with cleans putting way too much pressure on himself to pump it out. Sounded like microphone issues at the start it wasnt too bad for the rest of the set
When i saw them live it was like that for the entire set. Not a single clean word was recorded by the microphone and they didn't appear to be bothered even though they hear it themselves.
Seen them with the new and old singer, this guy struggles to sing cleans, why sing it if he cant handle it? Dont get me wrong the album was pretty ok lol but live he sucks
This album was written when James was in the band, Jake filled in and recorded songs not made for him tbf. The new album will definitely involve cleans he's capable of doing as he is a very good vocalist still

Jake sucks. James wrote the lyrics and was meant to sing them. Jake was promoted from selling merch to vocalist. Poor move for the band. James vocals are unmatched. He has a false chord like Trevor from Black Dahlia Murder. James Harrison has a broad range of metal vocals that Jake will never match.

So far every live video I’ve watched of this lineup of oaa has frustrated the hell outta me. Jake is an amazing vocalist who seems to be self conscience of his cleans, so he tries to use falsettos instead of basic projecting. The guys voice is simply amazing. Second chorus in escapist he killed it. But he uses the microphone distance thing too much. Even if on the album versions of hansha, if he did use falsetto, he shouldn’t bother trying it live. The guys projected voice is incredible and all I see in these videos is him not being confident enough to just use his projected voice, which again is FUCKING AMAZING. Idk.
